Who knew that reading back after Dallas wins a playoff game would be a treat!  What did I miss outside of Hurts thinks he has a bounty on him?

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Fun fact: I haven't eaten fast food or takeout pizza in over four years.

Last time was Pizza Hut.

Large pizza with pepperoni, bacon, and banana peppers. Eaten in one sitting after a 36 hour bender. Nov 2018

I cook all the time. Freaking love it.

In Canada we likely miss out on a lot of the US fast food chains, but we do get some up here:

Carl’s Junior might be my fav.  Fatburger is fine, but pricey.  Five Guys is overrated and overpriced.  We don’t have In And Out here but I’ve heard good things.  We don’t have Sonic or Chick-Fil-A.

Wendy’s is letting their competition and the world pass them by.  McDonalds is still trash but won’t actually endanger your health anymore.  Burger King might hold the record for highest grease ratio

If you think Five Guys is overrated and over priced, don't worry about ever trying In n Out!  It's ok, but nothing special...like Five Guys (and Chick-Fil-A).

I'm curious how you think Wendy's is letting the competition and world pass them by...for the price, they're the best of the fast food burger joints.

The NFL product is floundering??

Yes, the quality of it's product as a whole is pretty bad considering how entertaining the game was just a short few years ago.  The game is slowly killing itself.  I'm not sure how long it will take for the fantasy craze to even itself out (which you can credit for a lot of the money booms).  Then add how CFB is absolutely self imploding with NIL's, super conferences, lack of player development, etc.  From a purist standpoint, the game is just not as fun to watch anymore.

For the past 3 or 4 days, I've been working on a bit of a project. I kind of referenced it a day or so ago:

Ever have that moment where you've done 3 days worth of tedious work (using a Unix date/time code hundreds if times), only to discover that you have the year wrong and now have to go fix each and everyone of them or start ALLLLL over?

Ever since Dave announced the demise of the old EMB, I've been wanting to get the Super Bowl Thread into our database (it's been a bit of a minor obsession of mine lol). After nearly 3 years of searching for a way to import it from the archives, it just can't be done. So on Friday, I 'bit the bullet' and began manually re-creating the thread. All 167 pages of it. The above quote was when I discovered that I'd messed up on the time/date stamp of all of the posts (nearly 7 or 8 pages at that point). I mistakenly made them all be from February 4th, 2017 instead of 2018 and the mistake didn't jump out at me until nearly 8 pages were completed.

I corrected that and have continued to re-create the thread, making each post for the correct old EMB member (some of which are new EMB members), at the correct time of day/night. So far, I've completed the first 16 pages, so about 10% of the Super Bowl GDT.

Part of the reason for doing this is the hope that old EMB members that didn't know about the old board being shut down, might Google Super Bowl LII and find us in the search results. Plus it gives us the thread to enjoy or reference, more easily than using the archive.org archive.

Because of the tedious way that I have to do it, (re-posting each post, then going into the database to alter them to make each post from the correct time, date (in Unix form) and member), everyone shows up as a 'Guest' poster and the Avatars aren't present. Nor are the original posts likes.

When I have the time to sit down and do it, I can get around 5 to 10 pages per day done. So it's a bit of a long term project.

Right now, the partial thread is located in The 411 (pinned):

Both?

Haven't seen it posted. A lot of work within 10 yards of the LOS. Put Epps and Blankenship out there at S and use Gardner Johnson in the slot.

Yep.

He has definitely improved, but we should be able to handle him. The running (and which he's always done to an extent) needs to be held in check as well.

I despise the Boys but I'm glad Brady is out of the Playoffs.  That Bucs team was clearly the worst Brady Team he even took to the playoffs.  Wow, this is really the Changing of the Guard playoffs.   All QB's are 7 years or younger in the league.   Patrick is the oldest QB on the AFC Side.   Anyways,   The San Francisco 49ers and  basically the whole The NFC BEAST.

still like chick fil A, and their fast service is great, wendys outside of their chili has really taken a nosedive for a good while, the rest pretty much are terrible, I do like hardees once in awhile

I noticed that too.   I guess they're saying Saquon and McCaffrey are more popular in that picture.  I also noticed all the Birds/GMen marketing has Hurts and Saquon on it.

Would like to see a safety spy him. Or let Dean do it

Its a goal of mine to try a lot more of the pizza's I have seen on the one bite pizza reviews.

But I have been lucky enough to have 2.

One was a 7.3 back in the day when a 7.3 was a really good score.

And I have had as high as a 7.9 which has always been a really high, hard to get score.

I have had some good pizza. If I say Chuck E Cheese is damn good, its damn good.

I'd like to do the same.  I was thinking about it.  We can all argue about the top 4 chains and frozen pizzas but how many of us are just stuck with eating the same 2-3 local mom and pop pizza shops rather than really spreading out.  I know here, I might get Brother's, Mama's or Peppino's.  I know, original names but those are the go to shops and it's because they are the best of the convenient shops in the area.  There's actually a place in our local farmers market called Casero's that makes the best thin crust pies around but they are only open twice a week. They do a take and back that I've yet to try.

All of those are within a 10 minute drive from home.  How many other pizza shops in neighboring towns/counties could be much better?  I'm sure there's a ton.  I mean the 4 I mentioned are great cheese pizzas.  There are even more that have your more exotic, loaded topping slices.  I love a great slice of bbq chicken and there's a slice called the cowboy that is an incredible almost brisket bbq pizza.  I don't consider those pizza's though when I'm comparing a traditional great cheese pizza.  I'll go to those other places for their loaded slices but not regular.

But hey, ESP told us pizza is pizza.

I disagree. I think the game is as entertaining as it ever was. That bills kc game last year was an all timer. Tons of comebacks this year. The game is not killing itself at all

I think the overall product is still good, but some things have taken a hit.  ST has been ruined.  The rule changes have made the most consistently impactful ST play become running into the kicker.  Minimal opportunity for impactful returns.

The hair trigger on roughing the passer and defenseless receivers have really changed the dynamics of offense and defense too.

id rather have a shorter season with a more traditional game than 24 games of flag football.

Morning poop was solid! Gonna be a good day!

I never cared all that much about special teams, but sure, it’s definitely taken a hit. I’d rather watch a great offense go 75 yards than some fringe player take one to the house maybe twice a year.

In this blog, I’m sure there’s more old "purists” than not, but the viewing numbers and the sheer amount of people playing fantasy football and now gambling would indicate the NFL is doing just fine, and not "killing itself” as the other poster surmised

Ya totally. It's a mystery how they've even survived all the self-imploding and self-killing to date. And even going forward, they really gotta figure out a way to keep this sinking ship afloat. What with Amazon ponying up $1B/yr and now Google forking over another $2B/yr, it's really only a matter of time before the whole thing is just a smoldering a pile of ashes, ya know?

Why is it a narrative that it’s hard to beat a team 3 times in one year?
