Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Fun fact: I haven't eaten fast food or takeout pizza in over four years.

Last time was Pizza Hut.

Large pizza with pepperoni, bacon, and banana peppers. Eaten in one sitting after a 36 hour bender. Nov 2018

I cook all the time. Freaking love it.

Pizza hunt doesn't have smoked cheese on their pizza?

I never cared all that much about special teams, but sure, it’s definitely taken a hit. I’d rather watch a great offense go 75 yards than some fringe player take one to the house maybe twice a year.

In this blog, I’m sure there’s more old "purists” than not, but the viewing numbers and the sheer amount of people playing fantasy football and now gambling would indicate the NFL is doing just fine, and not "killing itself” as the other poster surmised

I disagree that they were all fringe players.  ST used to serve as a proving grounds for young players to move up the depth chart.  It is where Terrell Davis opened up some eyes.  It's where Brian Westbrook got his start as a game changer.  It's where Brian Mitchell really excelled.  It's where Dante Hall became the first 'video game' returner.

ST used to be a massive advantage for teams that were willing to put in the time, effort and investment to gain an upper hand on their opponent.  Now... its basically touchbacks on kickoffs, and tons of fair catches for punts.  Times change, of course, but change isn't always good.

I guess he'll get drafted by somebody, but he should strike while the iron is hot and run for congressional rep (in which case he should be mugging for the cameras).

I think the overall product is still good, but some things have taken a hit.  ST has been ruined.  The rule changes have made the most consistently impactful ST play become running into the kicker.  Minimal opportunity for impactful returns.

The hair trigger on roughing the passer and defenseless receivers have really changed the dynamics of offense and defense too.

id rather have a shorter season with a more traditional game than 24 games of flag football.

everytime the qb is sacked, you dont celebrate, you have to look for a flag first, when there is a great hit by a def player, you have to pause and see if there is a flag,  the league has really changed the game for the worse

Still wondering if this is the best Eagles roster that I can remember.

its high up there aint it, just wished lane was healthy,  that 90s team with that d was great too, until randall went down, they wouldve had a chance that year,

Agreed - it was a much more important element of the game that led to more nuanced roster decisions.  Devin Hester was an exciting player, made every KR/PR a must watch - hardly a fringe player, household name really.

Was that 90s d your favorite d?

you couldnt run or pass against bud carsons defense

As of now 2017 is the best roster because they proved it on the field.  We lost our starting QB, LT, MLB, RB....key positions and they still won it.  That is a serious roster right there.

🤣 They should. A smoked gouda or cheddar would really jazz it up.

But it sufficed after 36 hours of debauchery.

All this pizza talk is giving me heartburn.  Can't eat the stuff any more.

Used to love Pizza Hut.  Their personal pan pizzas basically made me a reading machine in elementary school and set me up being a good student the rest of my life.  That was one hell of a program.  Nothing better than eating your personal pan pizza while the rest of the class ate the cafeteria slop.

I will have to down some prilosec this weekend so I can take down a couple of slices of Drexel Hill.  Coming from New Mexico, that was always the best when we were in Philly.

Why is it a narrative that it’s hard to beat a team 3 times in one year?

Look at it this way.

Regular season 52-0

Playoffs 18-8

Quite the drop off

So the DAL/SF line at fanduel is now -3. We have our own monumental business to take care of on Saturday first but this line screams Dallas to me.

Dallas is probably going to the NFCCG.

Unreal.

The win % goes from 1.00 to .692

So technically it is "harder”.  But the odds are still in your favor.

Meaning what?  Words like "homophobic" and "racist" are weaponized far too much in modern society.  Tolerance is something that should be practiced much more.  Just as all people should be tolerant and accepting of those who practice an alternate lifestyle, that tolerance should work both ways.

Provorov is accepting of those who are LGBTQ; he is tolerant of the practice of wearing pride jerseys and sticks -- does not mean he should be mandated to participate.  I'm glad the Flyers did the right thing and not punish him for "choosing" not to wear pride-themed equipment.

It is a choice, after all ..... isn't it??

I'm waiting for the line to go to 2.5, so I can bet on SF.

SF are still favourites. They have the coaching edge, the roster edge, home field, rest edge, etc. Their path to losing is Dak playing another A+ game, Purdy turning into a pumpkin or bad turnover luck.

Meh, I don't feel like it means anything. It just means they're still getting even betting at that spread to not have the line move. This is very much a Cowboys hype line rather than based out of reality. The gap between SF and Tampa is very large.
