Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

7.215 million, the total of the 24-27 void years.

Can't we spread that out with a post-June 1st designation?

That’s what I mean, he’s under contract 2022 with a normal salary, future years void at beginning of 2022 league year for 2023-2026. So dead money fully in 2022 but he’s still on the roster

Oh, I see what you are saying now. I guess it's possible, but it kinda goes against the whole point of adding void years to begin with.

we could really use an expansion team right now. Their ability to take on other teams’ dead cap was the coolest part of the expansion draft

So 7.2 dead money in 2024. That sucks

Yep, those void years look good up front, but that money comes due long before people expect it to.

Negative.  They are void years.  We are not releasing the player, the contract voids.

Makes Barnett worse is basically going to get next to nothing out of that contract cause he got hurt this year and i doubt he does anything worthwhile next year

That's a fire-able answer. Especially if that's his pitch to ownership.

He'll cost a few additional 15 yarders. We probably have void penalties in his contract too.

I was watching one of the streamed radio shows, Eisen maybe, and he had mentioned that Spanos is not one of the wealthier owners in the NFL. His decision to not fire Staley may simply be because he does not want to have to pay him the rest of his fully guaranteed contract while also paying the new coach simultaneously

Yes, this is a good omen.

So wait, Derek Barnett is going to be on this team next year?? F me

We know one was that ridiculous hold that cost us a TD vs NO. How many of the others are for illegal man downfield?

@metal @e-a-g-l-e-s eagles!

Here is the 2023 dead money, almost half of it is void years accelerating.  On top of this, you have the possibility of additional dead money for Cox and Kelce.

Yea I heard that as well. Probably. Same thing is rumored to be happening with McDaniels.

Also was a heavy rumor when LV traded both Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper in the same offseason, because Mark Davis literally couldn’t afford the massive lump sum signing bonuses they were about to demand

the chiefs are positioned really well for a while anyway but add "poor” ownership for half of the division

It's refreshing we had none for Barnett because he wasn't playing

Now that Mahomes is proven I'm fully expecting them to be this eras Patriots.

This is the first year of Mahomes big cap hits ( 35.7 million ) and they are two wins away from a Super Bowl.

Most insane part of Mahome’s 10 year contract is after 2024 nearly all the guarantees are done. So they can manipulate the F out of it, or just rip it up and sign a new one to bottom out his cap hit again

Lucky for him the Chargers are too cheap to fire him.

Not really, they are rolling guarantees for being on the roster the 3rd day of the previous league year.

Right now his roster bonuses are guaranteed through the 2024 season.

If he is on the roster the 3rd day of the upcoming league year, his 2025 roster bonus of 38.9 million becomes guaranteed.

Patrick Mahomes signed a 10 year, $450 million contract extension with the Chiefs on July 6, 2020. The contract has $63.0819 million fully guaranteed at signing including a $10 million signing bonus. $141 million is guaranteed for injury and a total of $477.631 million can become guaranteed based on roster status. The guarantee structure is as follows. Upon signing Mahomes' 2020, 2021, and 2022 salaries are all guaranteed. On the 3rd day of the 2021 league year Mahomes' 2023 salary and bonuses will become fully guaranteed. On the 3rd day of the 2022 league year all of Mahomes 2024 compensation will become fully guaranteed. On the 3rd day of the 2023 league year Mahomes $38.9 million 2025 roster bonus will become guaranteed. On the 3rd day of the 2o24 league year the rest of Mahomes' 2025 salary will become guaranteed. On the 3rd day of the 2025 league year Mahomes $38.9 million 2026 roster bonus will be fully guaranteed. On the 3rd day of the 2026 league year the rest of Mahomes 2026 salary and his $49.4 million 2027 roster bonus become guaranteed. On the 3rd day of the 2027 league year the rest of Mahomes' 2027 salary and his entire 2028 salary and bonuses will become fully guaranteed. On the 3rd day of the 2028 league year Mahomes salary and bonuses in 2029 are guaranteed. On the 3rd day of the 2029 league year Mahomes' 2030 salary and bonuses are guaranteed. On the 3rd day of the 2030 league year Mahomes $13.9 million 2031 roster bonus is guaranteed. Finally on the 3rd day of the 2031 league year the rest of his salary is guaranteed.

I didn't realize the movie Powder was based on a real Cowboys' fan.

Looks like five 10 yarders (holding most likely) and eight 5 yarders (false start and downfield)
