Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Visual appearance only, and they had to redraw all the assets after being threatened with a lawsuit, but even ashley johnson (voice actor) aged out of the role too. Lots of fan sites thought Maisie Williams would've been a good choice, but I'm not familiar with her.

Ashley Johnson was never of the right look for the age of that role (she's almost 40), but she's an amazing voice actor. Maisie might have been good, but, I'll wait until I see the actress in the role.

So who’s fighting Mike soccer guy outside the stadium on Saturday night? Could be the opener for me vs bacarty

I volunteer as tribute for Bacarty (RIP).  My special move is to blow coal dust in your face so you get black lung

He's in a bunch of small roles. He was in the Kingsman sequel and Triple Frontier too. This is really his first main role.

You've not missed much, on account of the last few seasons. But I'd still strongly recommend anyone to take in seasons 1-4...

Wife and I both tried to get into it a few different times, but just couldn't keep our interest. I'm more of a sci-fi guy and she is more into suspense/horror. The dragons/magic setting was a tough hurdle for us to get over. Objectively speaking, I'm sure it was as good as advertised since HBO usually puts out top-notch stuff. Almost all of my favorites series/shows were on HBO (Sopranos, The Wire, Oz, True Detective S1, Chernobyl, etc.)

Venue?

Holocaust museum so soccer Mike can get a history lesson after his lesson from downunder

Can you send me the directions please?

Not playing Avonte Maddox was the right decision. Next week is the earliest we see him IMO.

Everyone else is a full go. No excuses. Go Win.

Mother's Name. No changing. Bad luck besides.

Eff the Canadians..get over it or fish from a bridge...

By the way, the whole name thing. Fortuitous. Way it worked out.

Neither he, nor the girl actress, look anything like their counterparts from the game, but I'm willing to suspend disbelief a bit if their acting is up to par. Not much to go on yet, but hopefully they don't deviate too much.

I've heard from reviewers who've seen the whole season that it is a very loyal adaptation.

I don't care much about looks, I care about acting chops, and Bella Ramsey and Pascal got it. I think Bella is gonna make a great Ellie. She can play tough, but also charismatic.

Where they're gonna have issues is with the eventual season 2 where they made one of the worst decisions in the history of gaming. I may not even watch a season 2 because of it, unless they change it up.

Saw that, was mediocre but entertaining enough to finish. Didn't remember him from it though, but so far he's been alright in the first episode. I made some comments in the HBO thread about how he comes across a bit differently from what I remember him being like in the game, but mostly just nitpicking so far. I have high hopes because if it's even half as good as the storyline from the game, this is gonna be one of the best shows in the last decade.

Yup. The Wire, Sopranos, Curb and True Detective are standouts for sure.

Never wanted to touch Six Feet Under for whatever odd reason. Could be missing out there.

Hearing good things about Succession. That's on my bucket list. EDIT - oh and Deadwood too.

Who needs to learn that, you or RTK ??

Not allowed.  That confrontation would be far too violent:

Yikes. I forgot that your Hurts posts were so bad that RTK has owned you for the past year.

Not eagles related but was a station that played Alf last night. I totally forgot how that show ended. Apparently they were gonna reboot it in 2018 and they canceled the reboot

Good to hear, I'm definitely optimistic.

I still really liked the second game, even if I kinda wish things would've unfolded a bit differently. One of the best cut scenes of both games came in the second one in the record store in Boston. You can easily miss it if you don't explore all the buildings but I was blown away by the emotion from Ashley Johnson in her dialogue. You gotta be super talented to convey that pain almost exclusively through your voice in a limited medium like a video game. I know the mo-cap stuff helps a lot these days, but it's her voice acting that really lands those lands with so much weight.

If you haven't seen Chernobyl put that on the list. It's a limited series so not a whole lot, maybe 6 to 8 hours, but it was fantastic.

Nice. Yeah heard about that one too. I forgot HBO also made Band of Brothers.

F me, they really outdid themselves these past two or so decades.

I don't know if prenounce was intentional or not, but it legit should be a word.

I've known a handful of people who hate medieval fantasy, but got into GOT. It took them a couple seasons to truly get into it though.

I think non fans of the genre could get into it because it's really a political show, character-driven show at its core. Yes, it takes place in a medieval fantasy setting, but the political maneuvering and character progression is what drives the story. I think it does the best job of developing characters of any show I've ever seen. It avoids the cookie cutter "good guy vs bad guy" and gives you nuance. No character is all bad or all good, and some characters you start off loving and grow to hate and others vice versa. And the writing is excellent... for a time. It eventually falls off a cliff, but the first handful of seasons are among the best in TV history. And I was super concerned about the spin-off House of the Dragon, but it turned out to be really good. It was just behind Better Call Saul for my favorite show of 2022.

The English Language vs UndyTaker will be the first fight on the main card. Im coming in as an underdog.
