I think he must have thought that the ball went past the LOS, because it had already been lateraled twice.  It was still a foolish statement.  Yes, it went forward.  But it was behind the LOS, and there hadn't been one yet.  And it went to an eligible receiver.   The bigger question is whether or not the OL had scampered down field or not yet.  

 

But, yes, he sounded like a fool.  Plenty of these announcers don't actually know the rules... or don't know them well enough that they can't think about the rule AND talk about it at the same time.

Last week went to the Lambs game. Sofi is amazing.

Went to the Flyers Kings game today w 2 of the grandsons (19 13).  Just a gorgeous place (Crypto whatever the hell but always Staples to me).   Flyers D was strong.
