What was the second line he said and who was he yelling at? I heard the first live.

I think he said "I'm allowed to be down here" to a ref who was trying to get him back to the bench.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

I’ll get slaughtered for posting something critical, but can we talk Jordan Davis for a second?  I realize he finally got a TFL last night, but he still looked really bad.  He was standing straight up out of his stance off the snap and had zero movement. He looked like the unathletic giant kid in a JV HS game that just stands there.  I criticized before because I wanted more from him, but now I’m officially starting to wonder what they have in him.

/rant.

Everyone else was incredible, from the top of the roster with Hurts looking like a champ to the bottom with Covey making some smooth fair catches in traffic that arguably could have been flagged.

Ive forgot that davis even played for the eagles

Mailata, gigantic human, 7th round pick having never played football and now a Pro-Bowl LT

Davis, gigantic human, 1st round pick, teddy bear

I've been saying the same for a while now.

For someone that big, he's invisible.

On the receiving end of a pancake too.  That's what happens when you play way too high.  Guy has serious work to do heading in to year 2.  He needs to watch John Henderson tape and learn how to be a bully.  Play as low as you can and play violent.  Your analogy of the huge JV kid is pretty spot on.  You have the size but that reallly doesn't matter in the NFL.  Everyone is big in the NFL.  If size makes you that good, 6-7 280 lb Matt Leo wouldn't be a 43 year old PS player.

I think he had 2 plays where, despite standing stationary straight up, they still just couldn’t move him.  Every other play, he was straight upright with the OL under his pads driving him wherever they wanted.

I’m surprised Davis hasn’t learnt more from suh and Joseph. If you can’t improve playing with those guys then there’s a serious concern

This team is just so well coached; they turned it up last night and it was a big ole butt whoopin on the Giants; they looked a team who had a big losing streak and in need of talent. All that media talk about the Giants had to be motivating.  Fair play to Sirianni for backing up Gannon - some of the criticism this year has been a bit eye rolling at times.  An easy target.

We move onto next week and a decent kick off time for Europe 🙏

He is a rookie. He was looking ok before that ankle injury which threw him off track I think. Give him another year or even two and we will see what he can do. He was a project coming out of Georgia, he's very young in a new system. I think he will be a good one, I'm not saying he's going to be Fletch reincarnated or anything though. But we will need some patience with him. I think you have to either bring back Hargrave or sign Daron Payne for the middle regardless. I would also like to add another good younger player to the D-line. I think Dre'Mont Jones would be an excellent versatile piece to add to the mix.

The Giants could not run the ball at all with Jordan Davis on the field. They took out Davis for one short-yardage play, then Barkley gashed them for a 40 yard run.

I can finally have a few beers watching the game without being on early Monday work calls. Could be a bit messy! Cannot wait

Yep. My English buddy didn't come over last night as it was too late for him.  He has a 6 and 4 yr old.  Next week is going to be quite the bender.

The thing with Joseph and Suh is that Davis isn't like either of them.  Joseph is your true, run stuffing, anchor NT.  6-4, 330.  He can sit in the middle and clog the running lanes.  His body type is wide so getting low is easy for him.  Suh, although now older, is a freak athlete with next level strength who also plays with violence and a mean streak.  He can get his hands on the OL and toss them or grab a player with one hand and throw them down.  Can also penetrate the gap with quickness.

Davis's attitude and personality remind me somewhat of a happy go lucky Donovan McNabb.  Nothing against him at all.  Seems like a good kid but he doesn't seem to have that mean bone in his body that you need to truly dominate.  BG is happy go lucky but he also has a motor that doesn't stop.  Hollis Thomas was the same but he was just a big bowling ball in the middle.  Davis needs to find his switch.

I fear that we're going to see a few plays a year where Davis makes some ridiculous feat of strength play but we will never see him put it together.  He'll play 35% of the snaps and that's about it.

I get your point.  However, trading 4 draft picks for a guy who might take 3 years to develop and even then only play 50% of the snaps just seems like a horrible use or resources.  I know I've been harsh on Davis but I also have high expectations as I'm sure we all do.  He gets a pass for the injuries and now he's down on snaps because of the veterans that were brought in.  Year 2 is huge for Davis.

100% agree on Jordan Davis and I was a big fan of the pick. On one of Jones’ scrambles he was getting stood straight up and put on his back. I was thinking how embarrassing it was. Dude needs to build strength and improve on his leverage.

I see the coaching staff also is concerned with his development. I don’t think they would have signed both Joseph and Suh if they had more confidence in Davis.

One thing I think that’s been overlooked - the Eagles managed to win even after Daniel Jones did the GRIDDY at practice.  Huge obstacle to overcome.

Does anyone have snap counts for the defense? Feels like I barely ever saw Davis or Suh out there.

19 snaps for Davis, 15 for Suh.

Wow, that's surprising. Maybe a lot of that came in garbage time?
