Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

100% agree on Jordan Davis and I was a big fan of the pick. On one of Jones’ scrambles he was getting stood straight up and put on his back. I was thinking how embarrassing it was. Dude needs to build strength and improve on his leverage.

I see the coaching staff also is concerned with his development. I don’t think they would have signed both Joseph and Suh if they had more confidence in Davis.

They signed both of them because he was hurt and the team was getting ran on.

This is so much better than last year’s playoff opener when people were complaining about silly things like "Hurts squats down too far in shotgun and can’t see the defense.”

So now we're taking e45s eternal pissy pessimistic stance and bishing about Jordan Davis?

Smitty dropped a key first down pass too

Where was Nakobe Dean?  Bum.

And how on earth do you give up another RZ TD?  Really something we need to button up or its going to be a really long season in 2022.

NP

Eagles charged me right after the game $390 (2 tickets)

Sooooo..............$3,900.00 per ticket should cover it.

Nope, not one iotoa. Davis played 19 snaps and seemed to have a part to play in stopping what was a red hot Barkley.

I’m not pressing the panic button on Davis, but his play height limits his ceiling significantly. Until he corrects that, he’s just a well-paid two-gapper.

I'm not scared of the 49ers or the Boys.   Bring whoever, this team is ready.

A few random, unorganized thoughts after sleeping on the big win:

All offseason I was critical of Hurts and believed we needed an upgrade, by the quarter mark of the season I was willing to admit I was wrong and have been a supporter of him since. With that being said I have to give Ganon some props for last night. I’m not ready to say I’m a believer in him, but he definitely deserves credit for a fantastic game plan last night and I’m at least hopeful he can put together another one next week.

I’m concerned about the health of AJ. I think he pulled up on that last deep shot and that’s why he looked frustrated on the sideline. He’s one of the players we can’t afford to lose.

Lastly, after consideration, I want Dallas. The rivalry is a factor, but also I feel like they’re a better matchup for us. But a big thing to consider is if Dallas does win today, they will have traveled, from Dallas to Tennessee, to Maryland, to Florida, to Northern California, and then to Philly. That’s a lot of traveling in consecutive weeks and has to be a burden.

How did we only lose to you guys by 7? Your team is dominant and looks like they will win it all.

On the receiving end of a pancake too.  That's what happens when you play way too high.  Guy has serious work to do heading in to year 2.  He needs to watch John Henderson tape and learn how to be a bully.  Play as low as you can and play violent.  Your analogy of the huge JV kid is pretty spot on.  You have the size but that reallly doesn't matter in the NFL.  Everyone is big in the NFL.  If size makes you that good, 6-7 280 lb Matt Leo wouldn't be a 43 year old PS player.

Maybe Davis needs to be slapped in the face before each game.

AJ was close on a couple of big plays yesterday. It's the Final Four. Every player is dealing with something.

Brown needs to live like TO prepping for the SB to heal up.

IDK but that was the NYG tho nothing to get excited about.

I know he’s mad that he had a TD if he wasn’t hurt. That was a beautiful ball to him.

My team was bad this year.

I know they needed to sign another DT since Davis was injured, but I don’t think they would sign both if they had confidence in Davis.

I’ll have to look into the snap counts, but it sure seems like Joseph and Suh had more snaps in the games Davis was playing in.

He was hurt with an ankle injury and went on the iR.

Davis played more than either Suh or Joseph last night.

Marcus Epps got some rest at the end of the game.  Much deserved.  Guy played 100% of the snaps in every game except the Titans where I think they sat the starters at the end.  I'm still torn on what Howie needs to do with the 3 FA DB.  Epps is just a steady player and I think his role on the defense is underrated.  Bradberry showed up huge last night.

Epps and CGJ are both entering their prime.  Maddox will be an injury prone 27.  K'Von Wallace will be 26.  Surprisingly, Blankenship is almost 24 and both Zech McPhearson and Josh Jobe are 25 next year so even their "young" DB are hitting their prime ages.

Marcus Epps- 27 in 2023

James Bradberry- 30 in 2023

CGJ- 25 in 2023

The Eagles still have Mac McCain and Mario Goodrich on the PS.  Both have prototypical CB size at 6' 190.  Not that I want to depend on them to take over for Bradberry at all but I think both at least offer depth.

The draft is fairly deep at CB but Howie's track record at CB is poor so trusting him there is iffy.

I just don't know what to think.  From a young talent standpoint, CGJ is the no brainer.  Bring back the 25 year old tied for the league lead in INT despite missing 1/4 of the season.  I'd love to keep Epps along side him but I think the Eagles have high hopes for Blankenship so if they think he can do Epps job, you get younger by 2 years and save money.  Bradberry has played at a level that will get him paid too.  Does a team pay top dollar on a max deal for a 30 year old CB or does he sit on the market for a bit and give the Eagles some levereage at a short term, cheaper deal?

I said at the time that I thought AJ looked slow on that route, but I think he was a step off because he took a false step to the right.

The nice thing about AJ is that his size/strength profile means he's still open when covered.

Davis played more than either Suh or Joseph last night.

It’s the first time Davis has had more snaps than either of them. He’s getting healthier, but he needs a lot of work this offseason. I’m not doom and gloom over him, but I sure would have liked to see more from him this season.

He has a high ceiling and I’d like to see him be more aggressive. He has the potential, he needs to unlock it.

I’m really surprised by how averse people are about Chicago going QB at #1.

It has nothing to do with me viewing Justin Fields as a bust, that’s internet hyperbole. You don’t move on from a player only because he’s a bust. If Philly offered DeVonta Smith straight up for Christian Kirk, does Jacksonville say no (financials ignored)? They had similar seasons, similar stats. But of course Jacksonville does it; DeVonta is substantially the better prospect, much younger and has far more potential. That philosophy works in every position, you want the best possible player with the highest upside. Why does it not work at QB more than any?

Has Fields earned a giant longterm deal yet? Does he look like he’s about to explode for an MVP-contention season or lead the Bears to the division title next year? No, he had some really good moments in 2022, but his worth to Chicago is still based almost entirely on future projection. He is still a prospect. Having said that, If Justin Fields were in this draft, he would not be the top prospect, he would not even be a top 2 QB. Maybe not even top 3 depending on how high you are with Levis.

Stroud and Young are hands down better prospects at the most important position in professional sports. Trying to get a 1 for Fields and drafting Stroud should be the slam dunk move. Doesn’t mean Fields is a bust by any means. Just about making the team as good as possible.

Goedert is such a huge asset to what Hurts does. Not having him had an impact
