I'm waiting for the argument that "The Eagles still haven't played anybody yet" when all week long all we heard about was how great the Giants have been playing lately.

For sure, the real test is "next week", right?

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Thanks death. I’ve got two calls in to season ticket holder’s. We shall see. Hey man. What are the face value of playoff tickets?

There are different prices for every round. Our face for the Giants game was $185. I think the face for the championship game is $215. Obviously this is dependent upon location in the stadium.

I hope Collinsworth doesn’t announce another Kansas City game. It seemed like one hand was in his underpants when talking about Mahomes all day.

The Giants are weak at WR (but a few will return from injury and some of the younger no-name ones got some good experience).

Their OL is young, so should improve ( this has been the culprit for why they’ve been abysmal for years).

Unfortunately for them, they are going to have to pay Daniel Jones to see if he will make a leap in Year 2 with Daboll.

Defensively, their LBs are trash but that is pretty easy to fix via free agency.

For all this house money talk, they have to feel like we did after the TB loss last year - completely outclassed.

Yup.

They're not going to be able to pay Barkley and Jones and stay competitive, just can't do it in today's NFL.

Conventional wisdom says pay the QB and let the RB walk but conventional wisdom also says don't use the number 1 pick in the draft on RB either so🤷‍♂️

Fields doesn't have anywhere close to the passing talent that Mahomes has. He has a good arm but he's all over the place with it.

Does Hurts have that level of passing talent?  I believe the correct comparison for Fields is Hurts rather than Mahomes.

Would love to fly up and see it!

Fair enough.  As it turned out Fletch ratcheted up his game several notches and the snaps dial back for him never happened.  He and Hargrove consistently played similar snap counts.

With the run D sorted out, he could situationally play towards his strengths. That HOU-WAS-IND stretch was a rough patch.

As a former WR himself, it is no surprise that he loves a QB who excels at getting the ball to his receivers.

Hurts doesn't have the passing talent of Mahomes. Clearly. But I think he's a better passer than Fields. He's not nearly as erratic. Obviously Fields is a better runner.

Agreed 100%

These teams have been put away. Thats why the eagles have so many wins.

They wont start taking it easy if they need to keep scoring.

Yeah, it was over at halftime last night.

It was like Madden slobbering all over Favre back in the day. I get it though Mahomes is awesome.

Agreed.  For Fields, the passing progress he makes this offseason will be key, just as it was for Hurts last offseason.

Yup...they changed their entire scheme after halftime. There was a lot of 13 and 12 personnel trying to run the clock out.

I thought you guys got a little conservative in the 2nd half. My boys do that all the time with a big lead. Philly at least started putting the gas pedal down in the 4th quarter

Smith dropped a pass that would have extended the first drive of the second half.

If Stoll makes a block (on a shot play), we get at least a FG on the second drive.

We seal the game with an 8-minute drive on our third possession.

Please elaborate on the "dialing back" you observed.

We also passed on a field goal well within Jake’s range in the name of field position. Because we were in complete control.

The continued lack of points in the second half when they could put teams away when they should is concerning.

That is a First World problem.

The Eagles were in kill the clock mode by late 2nd qtr. This game was not in question after the Giants 2nd possesion.  SO they went vanilla- Run the ball down their throats MANO y MANO style. Thats good for a number of reasons. We took very limited shots after mid 2nd qtr.

  • It shortens the game by running the clock
  • It really takes the will out of the opponent
  • It means we did not show much in way of game planning etc after the 2nd qtr saving stuff
  • Limited the drop backs and Hurts exposure to injury.

It was the right way to play it.

At this point who cares how they win.

Hopefully the AJ Brown injury isn't anything that will keep him out of the Championship Game.

Hurts was mocked by many for his leadership and work ethic, but it is pretty clear that our team is on a whole different level right now, and i think that stems a lot from Hurts.

We won a Super Bowl and people still complain about how Schwartz and the defense performed.

I hope not too but if he has to miss one game, I think we still have enough offense to win. Would need him in the Super Bowl though.

Well, the same argument I used against Hurts for 2 years applies in the Hurts/Fields comparison.  Fields isn’t even in Hurts stratosphere as a passer.  He’s all projection.
