Rams could be a sneaky team to make a move too.  Stafford's on the back nine already and if that arm isn't completely healed, they don't have the draft picks to move up for a QB prospect.

Packers want two 1sts, and the Rams do not have one in 2023.  I doubt they will wait for 2024 and 2025 1sts.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

I have come around the Sheils opinion than you need an offensive mind as the Hc

I tend to agree. I used to want a defensive minded guy, but I think an offensive guy is best for trying to maintain a semblance of continuity when developing a QB. QB coaches and OCs can leave for jobs elsewhere. At least the HC remains a stable influence.

Not sure on that, 12 personnel plays right into their strengths seeing as how they might have the best LB tandem in the league (and Al-Shair is damn good in his own right too.) We should do what we can to limit their impact, which might mean a lot of 3 and 4 WR sets.

Agreed.

Let their LBs chase Smitty and Quez around if they want to keep them on the field.  No problemo.

They seemed to enjoy doing this vs. Dallas, so lets see if they want to so it some more.

I'm not sure how much being an offensive minded vs defensive minded head coach matters. Sirianni isn't some mastermind offensive genius, but he appears to be a good coach. Same with Doug. Mike Tomlin is a great HC and mostly defensive background.

All those offensive "geniuses" from College like Chip or Kingsbury usually flame out. Other ones like Shanahan are generally a good HC but still can't win a ring.

Pretty feel good story for the guy to finally get a start in the NFL.

Well there's also the HC's that call the plays and the ones that don't. Nick doesn't do it anymore

DK Metcalf and Devante Adams both abused the Niners' secondary.  I wouldn't be surprised to see a long pass early, similar to the one to DeVonta Smith against the Giants.  The best way to counter a defense playing downhill is to hit a chunk play over their heads to back them up.  Once the safeties have been backed up the Eagles can smash them along the ground with the OL.

Last season Sirianni tried a bunch of short tosses along the LOS (which worked against the Falcons), and the Niners defense chewed those plays up.  I'm hoping he's learned from that and loosens that defense up down the field.  Stidham put up 34 points on them; no reason the Eagles can't gash them as well.

i dont know, i just feel like this team is missing something, the 2017 team was loaded everyone, with this team i feel it's missing a depth pieces like safety, running back, tightend, linebackers, i mean if we were loaded with experience in those positions, i would feel more confident this team winning the sb. if the eagles dont win this game or win the sb, it's because we didnt have enough depth because that's what got us the sb win in 2018.

True, it's probably harder to keep making sure you have a good OC on staff.

The Rams are ready to move on from Stafford because he's on the back nine, and to replace him they'd pursue Aaron Rodgers? Have I got that right?

Steady

Not necessarily for Rodgers.  Carr, maybe Lamar for sure.  If Stafford's arm is going to be a problem how else are they going to get a decent replacement?

Don't like Scott and Gainwell?

They did quite a bit again at the gints, we'll see

Somebody posted a stat about how often eagles use 11 personnel and how effective niners are defending it and not surprisingly they were among top of league against 11 personnel.

We'll see niners stat wise I'm sure are going to be tops against alot of stuff they're a really good defense.

Eagles will need to mix it up and keep that D off balance, mix up formations protections ect, which they've been pretty good at all year.

Niners don't really do anything fancy or tricky, just rush 4 and drop 7 in zone.

They're just really sound smart and aggressive, remind me of the 17 eagles with better LBs

Totally bro, this would be a completely different team if we just had 2017 Corey Graham.

That also brings up an interesting topic. Who would call plays if Shane were offered a HC position and accepted? Would Nick do it again or would whoever they make OC do it?

I'd bet Brian Johnson would move up and become OC and call plays.

Does he have any interviews for other teams?

Jerry possibly trying to keep Quinn again. Rumors yesterday were Quinn being hired would be the first domino to fall.

Jets, funny enough. Also Rams interviewed him the other day.

Interesting regular season stats:

Eagles SOS overall and in wins: .474 and .460.

5 wins over playoff teams (Jags, Vikings, Giants x2, Cowboys).

49ers SOS overall and in wins: .417 and .414.

5 wins over playoff teams (Chargers, Dolphins, Seahawks x2, Bucs)

I keep forgetting that guy is on the team unless someone brings him up. Either he doesn't want to be here or he just fell off a cliff real fast.
