Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Looking at how the draft may play out, would you be willing to take Pick 10 down to the end of RD1 for a haul of RD2-RD4 picks in a series of trade downs?

Did that jagaloon Sims really say that Daniel Jones is almost as good of a runner as Hurts and a better passer? If he really did there is no way he believes that and isn't just doing it to try to get attention.

Get the best player available at a reasonable position (AKA not RB and not something we obviously cannot use at all).

All things being equal, I want young explosive talent on the right side of the OL so we can stop holding our collective breath every time Lane Johnson grimaces.  That is THE single biggest threat to the functionality and winning ways of this team right now and for next year.

Beyond that, sure, I want an edge rusher.  Who doesn't?  But Maddox can't be relied on and Slay and Bradberry are old with between 1-3 combined years left in Eagles green between the 2 of them.  So means we pretty much need to add a young CB to the mix.

I know I'm being premature and unfair and all that...but we are all entitled to our premature opinions.  And I don't think Davis is going to pan out.  I don't think the staff is going to be comfortable assuming he can step into a bigger role next year.  I think they are going to want at least 2 DTs on the depth chart ahead of him.  So that thrusts DT into the picture for the draft too.

Regarding your comment I bolded above, don’t go to sleep on Josh Jobe as a "young CB” going forward.

Regarding the part I italicized, I believe you are panicking prematurely on Davis.  In addition, the Birds have Noah Eliss stashed on the PUP.  The buzz on him 12 months ago was pretty solid.  I think Howie will get another productive season out of one or more of Cox, Joseph, and Suh … especially if the Birds win the Super Bowl.

Jobe could very well be a candidate for CB2 if they lose Bradberry to FA. He's got the measurables and athleticism that McPherson never showed.

I think Suh or Joseph come back for a second act. Not sure the Eagles could afford a Cox sequel.

Edit: 'Cox sequel' a great sextape moniker

Snowball's chance in heck, but I'd love to see both Bradberry and Gardner-Johnson re-signed.

I see Gardner-Johnson resigning, but I expect Howie to go for another one year CB free agent "rental” like he did this year.  There are 5 or 6 solid FA possibilities for that kind of "prove it” contract.  Plus I believe Josh Jobe has serious developmental potential at CB.  Time will tell on that.

For me, the likelihood that Hargrave is back is considerably higher than Bradberry coming back.

I doubt Cox will be any more expensive than Joseph or Suh.

Interesting. Thought Cox might garner 6-8 mil on a one year deal. With a contender. Whereas the other two would get much less.

He said he’s good enough to do some of the things Hurts does as a runner although Hurts is better but if he were to pick just as a passer Jones is better. He knows what he is doing.

Sure

Everyone, do me a favor and go into CVON. Just see if you can get in and see the threads or if you get an error page.

Usually I would say yes but this draft doesn't seem to be as deep as the past few years. I would say no at this time, maybe one small trade back from 10 depending on who is there. I'm coveting S Brian Branch.

Not sure if it was posted yet but Daniel Jeremiah's first mock was put out a few days ago. He got some of my semi sleepers in the top 15 in Devon Witherspoon, Brian Branch, Broderick Jones.
He has us taking Myles Murphy at 10 which I would love.
One interesting idea I've been toying with is Nolan Smith, who I thought could be a Reddick style player. Could we go that route and deploy two Edge/LB's with elite speed simultaneously? Could create a lot of different looks with them two on the field I would think...

Worked fine for me.  I was able to post two comments … in different threads.

If he gets $6-8 million then he is gone and Howie will have another Draft pick to use in 2024.

If the Bills left Bijan Robinson on the board at their pick, Brandon Beane should be fired before they’re back on the clock.

Josh Allen needs to be curtailed on his running and his red zone INTs need to go away.  He’s trying to do way too much and needs another dynamic player to help him out.

They did take James cook in the second round last year. I wish i had the tweet that had a deep dive into his analytics but they were ridiculously good and the bills for whatever reason just refused to use him consistently. And just kept going with singletary who wasn’t all that impressive when you dove deeper into his touches.

Not sure they invest a second in one draft then a first in the next at RB. I think it depends on how the board fell at positions such as pass rush, corner, safety and even potentially OL. their pass rush was nearly nonexistent once von Miller got hurt. It was really bad once he got hurt and who knows what he is after that injury at his age. Additionally their cornerback and safety position need help. Tre’davious white has not been the same since he got injured. He’s still solid but before the injury he was much better. Also their other corner spot by dane Jackson is open as he’s a free agent. Also poyer is free agent and they don’t know when Hamlin is gonna play again. And Hyde also had a major neck injury. If robinson is the BPA at 27 i think you take him but i wouldn’t be surprised if they have a pass rusher or even corner available at 27 that they covet that position more

this isn’t the tweet i was talking about but does include some of what i wanted

Saw this on Twitter. Was cowherd’s top 10 players in this niners/eagles matchup (bosa is 1 can’t see him cause cowherd is in the way)

8259F246-4175-4665-98BE-41AE31E2177A.jpeg.c9c68926892262d2f6aa4349327acff6.jpeg

I agree with most of the guys in the top 10 but not necessarily that order. I also wouldn’t likely have slay over reddick with how reddick has played this year and down the stretch. Plus I’d have him in the top 8. He’s had an unbelievable year. Besides bosa, there’s an argument that he’s the next best defensive player on the field. Warner and Hufanga is pretty ridiculously good. Frankly i think warner is slightly higher ans That’s not a slightly to reddick. Warner is ridiculous. Lane and Williams are really close. I’d take lane cause i think he’s faced better pass rushers this year and basically shut them down. I’d probably go

1. Bosa

2. Lane

3. Williams

4. Hurts

5. Kelce

6. Warner

7. Aj brown

8. reddick

9.  Cmc

10. Kittle

id argue 9 and 10 is difficult cause i think kittle, cmc, deebo, devonta smith, goedert,  hufanga, CJGJ, bradberry and slay are all really good players. Cmc a couple years ago is likely closer to top 5. Kittle could make the same argument but he had 11 tds in the 15 games he’s played.

Restock the DL in the draft.

Alot of DTs I like in this draft.

Bresee in RD1

Young from Bama in late RD2 or RD3 possibly

Smith from Michigan in RD3

I know they drafted Davis last year, and I'm not giving up on him yet. But you let both Hargrave and Cox go the way of FA and you need to replenish the well.

Not to mention Suh and Joseph. Thats a lot of big bodies and experience thats not going to be there next year

Fair but then what impact have Suh and Joseph really made? Don't get me wrong they needed to bring them in mid year but I don't think they will end up being a big loss.

I don't think either of them has made a particularly big impact individually, but when you put all them all together its a big hole to fill.

I think they resign hargrave, let cox, suh and joseph go and sign another DT
