Geno Smith absolutely qualifies for comeback player and if he doesn't get it, it would be an absolute travesty.

The award isnt strictly about injuries.

Why should geno get it instead of Saquon?

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Not at all the point I was making. I agree their offensive has been explosive… but mostly at home. Even in LV where they dropped 37 he didn’t have a particularly great game. That’s the specific notation I’m making there, the discrepancy of when he doesn’t have SF’s crowd backing him he isn’t as impressive, and the margin of victory goes down quite a bit.

This should be the focus more than anything else.  They have scored a ton of points ( yes, at home ) and he has not exactly been Aaron Rodgers.  Let's hope he does not have a good game, or god forbid a great game, as we have already established he can lead an offense that scores 37 points when he does not have a particularly great game.

He overcame being drafted by the jets?

Imo i think demeco makes more sense for the Texans. He’s one of the most beloved players that organization has had and one of the best players in that franchise’s history. I guess if you are blown away by Gannon in an interview over demeco that’s how you feel. but i still think houston and demeco just makes more sense if you are going defensive head coach.

I agree that Ryans absolutely makes sense for the Texans. And I hope they hire him. But I do want to say that I can also see Gannon impressing in interviews. You can see from his press conferences how engaging he is. I remember thinking "wow" when he was first introduced to the Philadelphia media. He was really good, especially compared to Sirianni's introductory press conference which had everyone up in arms wondering who was this boob that Lurie had just hired.

Nick and Former Eagles Coaches Doug and Sean are all Coach of the year finalist:

For me (probably a little biased) it’s between Nick & Doug.

That said, I think they’ve all done a very good job this year.

There’s only 3 finalists for the award. Sirianni and McDermott aren’t one of them.

I just saw the report, I guess this was the final 5 and now it's down to 3.   So Dougie P, Kyle and Daboll.    Yet Shane got the Assistant Nomination.  I think Nick got snubbed.   I personally feel the 5 nominations were just right.     Three nominations is low when you have 32 teams.

Imo it’s likely the reason theynhire Gannon over Ryan is if in interviews they were so blown away by Gannon as compared to demeco. That said the Texans wouldn’t be in this position if they just hired gannon last year like they wanted to do instead of, then just going with lovie Smith.

Again this time it’s the 28th best defense in the nfl they did it too, with the help from multiple turnovers from a backup QB.

We scored 38 against NYG when Jalen only threw for 150 yards, in your opinion do you feel that has any indication we’ll do the same to SF? No, because the more context you remove, the less the point is validated.

They just reported Nick and Sean are out and AP final 3 are Doug, Kyle and Daboll.  Look they all did a good job like you said but I feel there was room for 5 Nominations.

Which is why they go Gannon

The point still stands.  Regardless of the rank of the defense and where the game was played, he led an offense that scored 33 or more points in 5 of 6 games.

I do not expect either team to reach 30 Sunday, but he is more than capable of doing enough to win.

At least we can play the disrespect card this weekend with sirianni and BG. I’m sure the team would love to stick it to shanahan and he niners and then tell the world about how they beat all 3 candidates and went 5-0 in those games and 2-0 in the playoffs.

As far as I know the votes are already cast.  They only announce the "nominees" based on the voting that has already taken place.  There must be a wide disparity between the nominees and Nick and Sean, that is why they did not list them as nominees.

I think the NFC home team gets to 30 this week

I am expecting

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles 23

49ers 19

Eagles running backs combine for 200+ rushing yards.

Wow, really? Why do you believe we don’t drop 30 on SF if acumens of defenses are to be disregarded?

That's pretty insane that Nick isn't one of the 3 finalists for coach of the year

Because he had one of the best statstical seasons of any QB in the entire NFL and was absolutely irrelevant for the previous X number of years.

Saquon missed 4 games last year.  What is he coming back from?  Same logic applies, just one plays QB and the other is a RB.

Wow, way to change the entire discussion.

I did not say Purdy will score 30, but, he has done it, in the NFL, against NFL defenses.

What I said ( which you conveniently removed when you quoted me ), based on the evidence, "he can do enough to win"

I did not say that was score 30 points, but he can do enough to win, especially if the #1 defense does their job, just like last week.

The New Orleans flop looks like it cost us more than draft position. 15-2 would have looked pretty stellar on the résumé

Geno led the league in completion percentage, and was top 6 in QBR and QB rating.

His team is going to the NFCCG though

Who is? Guessing Daboll is one. Probably O’Connell

No discussion changed, your point was about all the 30+ point games they’ve had showing their offensive prowess, and disregarding who it was against.

”Brock Purdy can do enough to win,” sure, that’s contextless enough to say throwing 4 picks in a 7-3 victory is doing enough to win, which was never against what I stated in the beginning. He plays worse on the road than at home, this is provable. SF as a whole has a lower margin of victory on the road than at home, that is also provable. The 2 road defenses he faced pale in comparison to Philadelphia’s, who is now the #1 defense so far this year when attributing what sf And Philly did in their games that prompted "just like last week”
