The crazy thing is that the Eagles averaged 2.6 sacks per game in their other 11 games. That’s what SF averaged for the season, which was 10th in the league. 

So, yeah, pretty damn impressive to take away six (6!) games of sacks and still be that good.

For giggles, I eliminated the 49ers 6 best sacks games...

7 vs Rams, 6 vs Panthers, 4 vs Broncos, 3 sacks vs (pick 3) Cards, Seahawks, Dolphins, Cards, Chargers...

That removes 26 from their total.   In the remaining 11 games, they got only 18.  1.6 sacks per game.  They down right SUCK!  Tied for 30th in the league.  Only Atlanta and Chicago were worse.

2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2008, 2017 and now the 2022 year season is producing us with yet another NFC Championship Game.  I have a feeling this will be a sort of combination of the runs we have seen from the past.  I think it's the birth of greatness we are witnessing.  I think it's the start of the most amazing professional sports run in the city of Philadelphia's history.  A run continuous run similar to the early 00s except with Championships delivered. 

The birth of something new.  The birth of a young great team that is on it's way to being crowned champions. And this is just the first one.  Because the Eagles have Jalen.  And Jalen pays the rent everyday. But first they need to get past the 49ers because the team from San Francisco is coming to town.  And they work hard but they play even harder.

When I think about Sunday, all I can think about is Todd Pinkston getting man-handled by the Panthers DB and Donovan playing like chunks before the mercy injury.

Let’s not even discuss the ish show that was the 2002 game.

But mostly at Reid. For wasting great defenses and for pinkston/thrash. Mcnabb is what was but if head had more help early on I feel like they could’ve gotten at least one championship specifically in ‘02.
