Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Latest weather forecast:

52 degrees, a possible light passing sprinkle late in the game. A little wind, 10 mph, but nothing major.

Unseasonably warm in this game. Conducive to more offense IMO. Either way, don't think it will affect how one team calls the game one way or the other.

I was hoping for a colder game, which I felt would affect a Ca. team more than the hardy Eagles…but I’ll take the win at 52F…can’t believe how excited I am for this game!

I’m 2004, Belichick somehow got a hold of the city’s tentative memo/plans for the logistics of a SB parade.  I would imagine that any city draws up such plans in advance to prepare.  In fact, given how the city of Philadelphia is run, if they did it, I’m certain any city does the same.

He read the entire boring thing to the whole Pats organization SB week.

Like you said, most any team does it, but I can at least see that attempting to be sold as "They're planning a parade route already!"

I don't see why the 2002 Bucs would motivate the 2022 49ers.

Yup

This one still gives me chills

This one before the Super Bowl was my favorite one

Random tidbit, but DeVonta has a chance to become only the fifth player ever to win a Heisman, National Championship, and a Super Bowl. He’d join Tony Dorsett, Reggie Bush, Marcus Allen, and Charles Woodson. Burrow is also in the running to do it this season too.

The new Lil Yachty album is fantastic.

Throughout the trials of my life, these are the people I’ve really come to hate:

Jalen Hurts

David Schwimmer

Wes Mantooth

will update list as I survive further

At the beginning of the week I thought this was going to be a tough, hard fought battle type of matchup. As the week goes on, I just can’t see Brock Purdy not getting swarmed and making mistakes. Especially on the road in Philly. This might actually be a blood bath.

POV: Jalen Hurts walking onto the field in the 2nd half after lighting up the 49ers for 5 first half TDs.

I would bet a permanent ban on this.  No team is scoring 30 in this game.

That makes no sense.  49ers aren't involved and it should mean nothing to them.  Show them Montana throwing 4 TDs in the 4th quarter to beat us in 1988.

But, Sirianni should show the Eagles Jim Burt breaking Montana's collar bone in the NFC CG.

Sirianni will show the team them beating SF 34-13 in the 2022 NFCCG on Tuesday.

so bad that needed 2 that’s Fing bullshits

I think Shanahan does too good of a job of putting his QB in good positions for Purdy to lose the game for them.

Agreed. He’s an excellent coach and Purdy has played great football to this point.

The narrative to this game is oddly similar to the 2017 Vikings coming into town for the title game. Top ranked defense with a quarterback who has played beyond what most think he was capable of. I still can’t get over how the Eagles are going to have all 22 starters on both sides of the ball playing. That’s something we shouldn’t take for granted because we’ll probably never see that happen again this deep into the season. I hope they’re able to take advantage of that.

I would prefer that the offense hits the field first. They need to put the pressure on and try to jump out to a 7-0 start to get the momentum going.

The fact that they have 22 starters means it is nothing like 2017

Wasn’t comparing that part to 2017. Just the top defense and a quarterback playing beyond what people expected.

Im texting my 49ers fan friend. My phone changes Deebo to Deborah. Phone talks trash on the 9ers. I love it.

I generally don't watch a lot of local news, but yesterday (Thursday), I saw a story about Josh Sweat. I don't think I knew that he was from Chesapeake, VA, which is where I live. I can't really say it's where I'm "from", since I wasn't born here (I was born and raised in Maryland). But I've lived in Chesapeake for more than 30 years now. Longer than I've lived anywhere else.

It'd sure be nice to have a Super Bowl Champion Eagle be from where I live!

Now I'm going to ramble a little...

Spoiler

A few NFL players were from this area and I got a chance to meet a couple of them. Darren Perry, who played for the Steelers and most notably, Bruce Smith. A good friend of mine worked with his mother and they were friends. They threw him a birthday party at his home in Virginia Beach, the summer when he signed with the Redskins. This was a few weeks before he had to leave for training camp.

So picture this... Bruce Smith and 3 or 4 of his buddies, sitting in his living room talking about football... and there I am with them. It was pretty cool. I took the opportunity to kind of get on him for signing with the Redskins and that My Eagles were gonna take it to them.

We talked a little about Reggie White being one of my favorite Eagles, but it's been so long ago that I really don't remember the conversation, other that it took place. He was a nice guy, took the time at his birthday party that his mother threw for him to sit for an hour or so and talk to some random guy that he'd never met before.

Another player that I met here was a Kansas City Chief from their first Super Bowl team. I was working at a Builder Square (hardware store). I remember that I met him while the 1994 AFC Championship game was being played (Chargers-Steelers).

All it takes is two or three bad passes to lose a game. He’s been fortunate to get away with them. At some point defenses have to capital
