All it takes is two or three bad passes to lose a game. He’s been fortunate to get away with them. At some point defenses have to capital

It can happen for sure, I just don't think it's all that likely.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

I generally don't watch a lot of local news, but yesterday (Thursday), I saw a story about Josh Sweat. I don't think I knew that he was from Chesapeake, VA, which is where I live. I can't really say it's where I'm "from", since I wasn't born here (I was born and raised in Maryland). But I've lived in Chesapeake for more than 30 years now. Longer than I've lived anywhere else.

It'd sure be nice to have a Super Bowl Champion Eagle be from where I live!

Now I'm going to ramble a little...

A few NFL players were from this area and I got a chance to meet a couple of them. Darren Perry, who played for the Steelers and most notably, Bruce Smith. A good friend of mine worked with his mother and they were friends. They threw him a birthday party at his home in Virginia Beach, the summer when he signed with the Redskins. This was a few weeks before he had to leave for training camp.

So picture this... Bruce Smith and 3 or 4 of his buddies, sitting in his living room talking about football... and there I am with them. It was pretty cool. I took the opportunity to kind of get on him for signing with the Redskins and that My Eagles were gonna take it to them.

We talked a little about Reggie White being one of my favorite Eagles, but it's been so long ago that I really don't remember the conversation, other that it took place. He was a nice guy, took the time at his birthday party that his mother threw for him to sit for an hour or so and talk to some random guy that he'd never met before.

Another player that I met here was a Kansas City Chief from their first Super Bowl team. I was working at a Builder Square (hardware store). I remember that I met him while the 1994 AFC Championship game was being played (Chargers-Steelers).

I currently reside in the hometown of Franco Harris. Good stuff VaBE.

Ray Lewis and his crew used to shop at the Target I worked at in Pompano Beach, FL back in the early 2000s.

I worked in electronics at the time. Sold him a high dollar digital camera and even got him to sign up for a Target credit card.

Good times.

Edit: Jevon Kearse also shopped there alot, but I was never on shift when he came through.

Tommy McDonald lived on my street growing up, allegedly. I never knew which house.

At the beginning of the week I thought this was going to be a tough, hard fought battle type of matchup. As the week goes on, I just can’t see Brock Purdy not getting swarmed and making mistakes. Especially on the road in Philly. This might actually be a blood bath.

Yes!  I just rewatched the Niners-Cowboys game and I can't see them generating enough offense to compete with the Eagles.  Need to shut down the run and short passing games which having both CJGJ and Maddox will be critical.  Make him hold onto the ball and tee off.  If the Eagles can win the TO battle, this could be a rout.

On a couple of occasions I helped McNabb walk around Circuit City in Moorestown and loaded his cart up with DVD’s that were "whatever you think is good” and basically any new electronic he didn’t have yet. Easiest job ever.

Do you mean Mount Holly or somewhere out in Western Pennsylvania?

No, he was a white man. It's been so long ago that I don't remember many of the details.

Those anonymous college tuition payments will not allow me to comment.

I was right to say that bum lynch probably had input; so weird tho. Different matchup and a completely different eagles team.

This is a pretty good 49ers team.  They (basically) have been blowing teams out since Purdy.  (I think the Cowboys game was one of their closest wins).

That said, I'm cautiously optimistic - if we play our best, mistake free football - plus the home crowd (12th man) - I like our chances.

Since McCaffrey, key on him make Purdy throw. Just don’t need any key injuries and we should be good. I don’t expect us to shoot ourselves in the foot with inopportune penalties and TO’s but our return defense is suspect

I guess this is SF’s version of doing a SKOL chant at the art museum…..seems like a smart idea.

Tidewater VA is a nice football hotbed.  Lots of players from there over the years.  When I was at William&Mary LT used to come back during the offseason and play pickup basketball.  That was kinda cool even though he as a Giant.

Over/Under on Fights (3.5)

Steve Smith seems to hate Philadelphia

Well,  it was a good run.

But if John Llynch was pacing in his office,  I don't see how we can win this week.

That sounds scarier than a Daniel Jones griddy.

Inching closer. It has been a great year. The best year up to this point.

The Buddy years will always occupy a special place in my heart but this team is just behind them together with 2017 which was just an all out fun ride the entire way including the obligatory adversity. The Vermeil and Reid teams just a tad behind.

With a dash of luck we can take one more step for now.
