Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

If the sixers get the one seed it would be a pretty amazing feat considering they have the toughest schedule left in the league. Not that they can’t do it, but gets significantly harder going forward. I’m guessing they likely rest guys here and there to keep them fresh entering the playoffs. They’d obviously like the 1 seed but i think being healthy in the playoffs is more important than that. That said i do think homecourt matters in a series vs. bucks

We are just watching the same movie all over again with the sixers.

Embiid re-entering the MVP conversation is probably the worst thing that could happen to the team, along with the hype in pursuing the meaningless #1 seed.  The bucks and celtics are clearly the class of the conference, lack the lineup fragility of the sixers, and are just laying in wait for the playoffs at this point.  Meanwhile, the sixers will blow their load in pursuit of the 1 seed and MVP for Embiid, may or may not get one or both, and will be a banged up shell later in the playoffs.

If the Nets find a way to isolate Simmons from the team before the playoffs, they'd probably be a bigger threat too.

What's really cool for me is that I only made two team bets like that. The Eagles to win the NFC and the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl. Both were 10:1. I'm hedging the hell out of that KC bet too. Regardless of when/if they lose, I'm guaranteed to make a profit. Again, I'm really cool with that. What worked out great for me was that both teams were #1 seeds so there was one less playoff game I had to navigate the profit margin with.

I say let it ride (great movie).  Hedging sucks (it is smart).  But do hedge KC as Cincy is going to win tomorrow (I have no idea).

And by water we mean urine as we are going to piss on their hopes and dreams.

I dunno where this is coming from either lol.

I’d argue the bucks as the class isn’t necessarily true. Cause middleton has yet to stay consistently healthy. I think with him not there or battling through injury that the bucks aren’t the class of the east. I do think the Celtics are though.

My argument is that a more rested/healthy Harden and Embiid are in the playoffs. What good is #1 seed if they are both completely worn out? You win a game 7 if you are good enough, home court or not. I’d rather not kill them with over usage and get #2 seed.

That goes for any sport that you win the game if you are good enough home field/court/whatever.

But playing at home in the playoffs in basketball is just as important as other sports that have playoff series.

Glad to see you’re consistently a drop or two of water at the bottom of the glass man in multiple sports.

Not sure if this has been shared yet but awesome to see.  I know there were a lot of absolute morons and mental patients coming up with crazy theories about him and to be honest, the way his appearance was handled last weekend was odd to say the least, but to see him speaking and moving forward is incredible.

I have a kind of oddball reason for hedging my bets. I'm not a guy who's ever cared about gambling and I've only bet on sports (football exclusively) the past few years. I keep track of my winnings and losings down to the penny. As someone who takes pride in their football knowledge, I've been kind of embarrassed that over that time, I'm actually in the hole by a little bit. But this year I somehow bet wisely and am set to wind up on the plus side for my "lifetime" sports bets. If I were to let my Eagles and Chiefs bets ride, I'd run the risk of staying in the hole. As a matter of pride, I'm determined to not let that happen.

I dunno, it was pretty odd we couldn’t see a clear video of him from across the stadium during a blizzard. And why would a high profile person who just overcame a serious medical emergency 3 or so weeks ago need security? Something doesn’t add up.

It’s just so…weird. They have AJ in #11 but Slay in #24 which he hasn’t had since 2020. They have Hurts in #1 with no C patch except he’s been a C every year he wore #1. There’s Zech McPherson for some random reason along with 4 Colts logos? One looks like penetrating Slays number. Mailata kinda looks like he has DD cups. And then there’s Nakobe Dean with a C patch when he might have played the least amount of snaps on D. I’m too buzzed to make it make sense.

Seems like the time to double down...🤣

Really, really interesting discussion

I'm adjusting the rank system to match our current stats. So you'll see some changes happening over the next several days until I get it finished.

I know that it seems obvious that, since SF is weaker against the pass, that we want to air it out tomorrow. But I just hope they don’t completely abandon the run early. I would be almost bullish about establishing the run early. I get that their strength is up front and their LBs, but our strength is our OL. The better we run the ball, the better play action will work on earth downs as the game goes on. With the way our WRs have kinda gone back and forth being targeted more throughout the season, and A.J. being frustrated, I know we will want to get him the ball, but I’d guess they’re gonna shade coverage toward him and make Devonta best them, which should be a mistake we could exploit.

Big pass plays don’t need long to develop, the way Hurts has been throwing them this season. The Steelers game comes to mind, and that deep shot to Smith early last week. If Hurts can drop back and throw it to a spot the way he has been, I trust our WRs to go get it. And if they want to sit back and give us the slants and outs, take them all day. But we know we’re a better offense when we’re balanced. Don’t be afraid of their front 7 so much that it keeps us from establishing our identity in the run game.

Defensively, we need an answer for Kittle. And if Maddox is out or gets hurt again, and Josiah Scott has to play nickel, we know Shanahan will put Kittle and Samuel in the slot to exploit that, the way Dallas did with Lamb. They have a rookie QB, and TEs are a safety net, and they don’t get better than Kittle. That starts with the DL getting home. Purdy hasn’t seen a DL like ours. Test him early, without blitzing. Don’t give them the easy looks in the passing game, if our blitz doesn’t get home. Trust our DL.

Basically, I just don’t want the team to play scared. Yes, SF is the best team we’ve played, but our OL is as good as it gets. Our DL has the third most sacks all time, even though people say SF’s is better.

Talent-wise, the teams are pretty close to equal. They probably have the edge coaching-wise. And we SHOULD have the advantage at QB. I just want us to be the team to make him look like a rookie, and not make him wait til the SB. I truly believe if both teams play their absolute best, we should win. Here’s hoping

Well Eagles Fans.  The Time Has Finally Come.   After an amazing Historic Regular Season and blowing the doors off the GMen.....the Birds find themselves in the NFC Championship Game.   One game before Super Bowl LVII. Many Media Pundits or fans didn't expect us to be here.   Just five short years ago, we watched our Birds make History on the way to becoming Super Bowl LII Champions.   In those Five Years we've seen a lot of change but the Birds have been competitive the entire time.    They all worked so hard this season for this moment.  An NFC Championship Game in Philadelphia.   The Fans will be out their minds in the Stadium.   The Birds have been the Best Team all year long.  But the 49ers are extremely Hot.   10 Straight Regular Season Wins to end the season.  12 Straight including the Playoffs.   They have a Rookie in Purdy who's on a 7 game winning streak.  He joins 4 other QB's who have made the Conference Championship.    The only problem is, Rookie QB's are 0-4 in this game.  Not to mention, it's always hard to keep maintaining a long winning streak.   We learned that this year ourselves starting the Season as the hottest team.  They are due for a loss and the Birds have to make that happen.

I respect the 49ers.  This is their 3rd NFC Championship appearance in 4 years.   Their 6th in 12 years.  Though reaching the Bowl, they haven't been able to close the deal.  Kyle also has done very well this season with all the QB changes to still be at this point.   With that said, Kyle has had a few bad playoff games himself.    This is the Birds 7th Appearance this Century the most in the NFC.   I just feel this is a difficult spot for a Rookie QB even though Purdy has been playing well.   Yes the 49ers Defense is very strong and will be a challenge.    The issue for them is we have the X-Factor in Jalen.   A Player that can change the game instantly.   We have an Offense with just as many weapons as they have.    We have a Defense just as furious as them.  But we have something they don't have.  Home field Advantage.   You ain't coming in our House and leaving with nothing other than an L.  Not Today.    I think the Birds will take it hard to the 49ers because I feel we are the better team.  It's time to make Purdy's Jersey Dirty all afternoon and cause him to hit that Rookie Wall hard Eagles Defense.  It's time to show why we've been one of the best Offenses in the League all year.   Through it all this team has shown us who they are week in and week out.  They are the #1 Seed for a reason. I'm very confident they take care of business.   Today won't be any different.  The 9ers are walking into a Hornets Nest.    Eagles win in dominating fashion and Advance to Super Bowl LVII.

BIRDS - 34

49ERS - 16

Jalen - Rush TD

Miles - Rush TD

AJ - TD

Goedert - TD

Jake - FG x2
