ig pass plays don’t need long to develop, the way Hurts has been throwing them this season.

Yep, he throws the quick deep ball that goes about 30-40 yrds downfield and not the super 50-60 yrd bombs that take longer to develop.  Reminds me a lot of the old 49ers QBs Young/Montana in that regard.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles 31

49ers 17

Hurts with 2 rushing TDs

Not that it matters one bit now but a scan of all the national sports writer predictions show approx 60% picking the Eagles.  I think that is about right.

More than any other game in recent memory, this one feels a lot like an old school battle.  Think Eagles/Giants late 80s or something but with a far better Eagles team overall.

no, I dont bet on games of any kind, truthfully this is the game I really feel good about the eagles winning, unless they come out passing 50x's, it would have to be coaching in my opinion, that loses the game, should the eagles win, and if I did bet it would be tough to bet against either of the afc teams in the sb

If the Eagles win my gut says the better matchup would be the Bengals because I think we could dominate their OL.

If there’s one critique of the offense, it’s the lack of someone to put the defense on their heels with pure speed (Watkins, but he’s fallen off) and the lack of someone with extreme wiggle in space.

Lately, the guys with big college production and those traits go top 15.  If someone who fits that profile drops to 29-32, I’d be fine with it.  Otherwise, it might be best to look at a still developing smaller conference burner in rounds 2-5.

There are a bunch of smaller, faster guys who will be available at 31. This class is very deep with that archetype who are late round 1 or day 2.

I just don’t think it would be a good use of resources. There should be some really good pass rushing prospects available at 31 which is what I’d expect us to look at assuming we don’t take one earlier.

The good news is I think Howie is likely to trade down multiple times, maybe even with both picks, and allow us to hit multiple positions in rounds 2 and 3.

It’s funny, because both teams are pretty "new school” on offense. The Eagles use a bunch of designed QB runs and such while the 9ers are trying to do positionless skill players.

I guess it comes from both teams having good run games and defense. Personally, I think the Eagles are going to be passing a lot this game. That’s the 9ers weakness on D and it somewhat neutralizes their LBs. Plus if we can get an early lead and force the 9ers into being one dimensional I think we could win relatively comfortably.

Yeah, think it comes from the feeling that it will be a super physical game won in the trenches and likely not super high scoring.  We shall see.  Maybe it will be just the opposite.  That does seem to happen from time to time

Eagles hype video with Dawkins as the narrator. Sorry if it has been posted already.

I heard on one of the podcasts that the winning formula is to bludgeon the 9ers defense with inside zone punctuated by deep shots.

If they stick with the C3 base with a fair amount of blitzing, I agree, I’d rather pepper them on the outside with the comeback/curl or threaten them deep. While running laterally is tough because of their LB speed, running into a heavy box has its challenges as well.
