Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

I heard on one of the podcasts that the winning formula is to bludgeon the 9ers defense with inside zone punctuated by deep shots.

If they stick with the C3 base with a fair amount of blitzing, I agree, I rather pepper them on the outside with the comeback/curl or threaten them deep. While running laterally is tough because of their LB speed, running into a heavy box has its challenges as well.

They’re vulnerable deep. I’d come out firing down field. Spread them out. 4 WRs and make them take their LBs off the field. Use Hurts as a runner on options.

Make this a shootout and they can’t keep up.

That's the gameplan I hope they use.  You're right, not only are they vulnerable deep, but if you get just one of their LB off the field, you're taking a strength away.  The weakness on the team is so clear but it seems every time the Eagles face an opponent like that they ignore it and try to attack their strength instead.

Actually, now that I think about it no one predicted enough wins and Eagles passed them all so I guess Howie Roseman and or Julian Lurie win.

Bonus winners highlighted in Green.

Julian Lurie always wins

They are resistant to this - unless you’re willing to take the RB/TE off the field. DAL would go empty out of 11 personnel and SF would keep the 2 LBs out there.

Also, the 3x1 sets worked nicely to get an isolated CB vs WR. Devonte can make the most of the boundary with his route running in this match up.

This is it, game day!  Feeling anxious, but confident that our team has an edge over the rookie QB.  Trust the coaches have good game plans to attack both offense and defense.  Players focus on their assignments and execute well.  Keep mistakes to a minimum and everyone steps up and makes plays.  SB awaiting!

If we can force em into Dime coverages with our personnel packages, they're cooked. All options would be on the table for us, including the Inside ZRs, Middle throws and the Deep shots, best of all worlds. Go Steichen.

Hope I’m wrong but I’m starting to feel 02/03 NFC championship vibes. Definitely a better supporting cast around our young QB though

Exactly. We can take 1-2 of their best players off the field just by personnel groups. Quez pressures their weakness as well. And suddenly the run game opens up on top of it.

In honor of G-Reg calling the game

Important to keep either him or Steichen.  Don’t want to lose both in one offseason.  Steichen seems destined for a HC job, so it’s important to make sure that Johnson knows his OC promotion can be right here.

Guess we’ll see how good Sirianni is when he loses his coaches.

I think the Eagles can win in a couple of different ways.

1. We come out slinging and grab a two score lead and then either win in a shootout or just bleed the clock like we've done so many times this year.

2. Hurts' is the difference in the 4th quarter in a tight game and he puts the team on his back.

3. We eventually wear them down, especially with our DL rotation, and dominate the last quarter or quarter and a half at the LoS.

I think the 49ers only have a single approach to victory.

1. Make it a total slug fest stalemate type of game, take advantage of Eagles mistakes, and win by a fg in a low scoring affair.

I think the biggest difference with SF is that they have the talent to pick one half of our offense and stop it.  But they’ll probably have to over-compensate to do it.  I think they can decide on a game plan to either neutralize our passing game or our rush attack, but they’ll be left vulnerable to the other.  So it may take an adjustment to make them pay, rather than everything working from the beginning.

I think we can do it all with 4WRs. They’ll want to take away passes to our WR… but if we go 4 wide they’ll need dime coverage which means their LBs are off the field. With the defense spread out we can then run with RPOs and other optionality giving us even numbers in the run game with our 5 OL vs their 4DL and 1 LB.

So, question for the Bloggers, what are you going to do between now and kickoff to keep from going crazy?

I'm going to take Wes out for a bird hunt, followed by a bath and a haircut. Should be getting close to game time by then. Don't feel like listening to the Pundits rehashing the same what ifs all morning. Whatty ya got?
