Maybe it does need removing

Nahhh, football can be kinda confusing for some of these guys. They need a way to express that confusion so we all know just how confused they are.

Good time to remind: if you just want act like middle school cliques trolling and insulting each other go to RnR.

  • Just take a moment to realize how easy things look for this offense when the quarterback is right. This team just scored 28 points against a divisional opponent in a half. Just insane where things cou

It would not be the best business decision.  It would be a very bad business decision.

If we take away the likelihood of a Hurts hold out/trade demand or the moral issues that it would cause, there is still the following:

1) The Eagles really can’t afford to franchise Hurts. The exclusive franchise tag will likely be around 50 million for QBs in 2024. We would likely lose him on the non exclusive tag.

2) An extension would not replace his rookie deal. Only the proportion of the signing bonus would hit the cap. He would still be a low cap hit this year.

3) QB salaries are only going up. Burrow, Herbert and Jackson are all about to get big deals. The earlier we sign Hurts, the cheaper he will be.

Signing Hurts as soon as possible is the best business decision

I agree, philosophically, with everything you just said about reasons to sign him now.  As far as the "best business decision", that will only be known with the benefit of hindsight.

All big contracts are a gamble by the team that they'll get good return on their investment.  You don't pay for what a player did, you pay for what they will do going forward.  We have every reason to believe Hurts will continue to be good and we should get a good ROI.  However, with Hurts' style of play, he is a bigger gamble with higher injury risk.  Yes, any player with any style of play can get injured, but a guy like Hurts will always carry more risk.

Anyway, I'm sure it's a moot point because I'm 99.9% sure the Eagles will extend Hurts for all the reasons you listed.

And this other facade about Jalen being injury prone or has some lack of availability. Jalen has taken every playoff snap for every playoffs game he’s been in except garbage time snaps to Minshew. Our last quarterback took six playoff snaps in five years of work, but you would think according to some Hurts is more injury prone and missing more games than that dude. Seriously what are we doing here? Why is any of this up for any kind of debate? The case is closed. There are no more arguments that need to be made. Jalen Hurts is the quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles and that’s it. If anyone wants someone else then it’s time to switch teams.

Hurts is not "injury prone" but as a running QB who is the keystone of the team he is bound to take a beating.
Scummy players will deliberately try to hurt him. Yes he's smart and elusive but it only takes one bad hit and
he could end up like Wentz, who lost his magic after his injury.

He deserves a monster contract but missed games due to injury need to be factored in.
Especially considering our aging O line that will need some revamping to protect him.

One of the biggest factors in the last SB was that Mahomes' O line was sterling
and our sak masters couldn't get to him.

Our o line isn’t really aging. If Kelce retires and we take Skoronski in the draft to be a guard (his arms are too short for tackle); you’d have a foundation of Mailata/Dickerson/Jurgens/Skoronski with only Lane left to replace. That’s a pretty spot to be in

No. The poster claimed the Eagles will pay whatever Hurts wants. I simply said he was wrong, because he is. There is a difference between wants and needs. I didn't think that would have to be explained here, but I should've known better.

He never said whatever he wants, you even quoted him not saying that. And no one said anything about needs. No player needs hundreds of millions of dollars, you’ve now inserted that for some reason.

For what you did and didn’t think was necessary, in your defense you do seem to get confused quite a lot.

Eh, neither defensive line was able to get home, and I chalk that up to the poor field. We could argue all day as to how much the field played a part in the win/loss for either team, though.

Also, Hurts missing games due to injury will/should not to be factored in whatsoever. We didn't factor in Wentz's injury when he missed the entire super bowl run due to being hurt on a QB rushing TD. players get hurt, it's part of the game, and Jalen's style of play is no more dangerous than QB's that sit in the pocket and get hurt.

It didn’t help that our linemen couldn’t get footing because of that crappy field. Just consider that our running quarterback played more games and playoff games than our throwing quarterback from the years prior. Bottom line is Jalen’s going to play his style of football, and he’s been there when our team needed him at the most important times. The same could not be said of Wentz or Vick. The last person we saw consistently be a playoff performer was McNabb. Hopefully the new coaches make some smarter choices with Hurts though meaning not to run stupid draws on 3rd and long like they did in the Super Bowl.

If last year after the season (even though they said Hurts was their guy) it seemed confusing to some around here, the owner’s recent words sure did make it seem like there’s no longer any question in the Eagles minds who their quarterback is. I know that might be confusing to some (😂🤣😂) but the reality is the Eagles are signing Jalen to a significant contract in the appropriate range for the level of player that he is. The sadly confused, haters, and crybabies are just going to have to suck it up.

This could definitely be labeled as trolling. Just an fyi
