Is there an Isiah Pachecho type RB in this draft?  Somebody that can be had in later rounds who can make a difference

No one has a crystal ball

How would anyone know that he would be as good he was for the chiefs?

he probably only got his opportunity through injury

Not as old as Jalen Carter!

I wonder how long all the other GMs are gonna let Howie btch-slap them around.  Dude had to have made a deal with the devil.

Howie didn't do anything but figure out what every other team was doing.

That was a BS question by Reub.  All he had to ask if they thought Carter had been accountable.  Instead, he framed it like an attack based on a zoom call

I don't think it was BS all, it was 100% fair.

The kid hasnt really taken public accountability for his role in the deaths of his friends.  If the Eagles didn't think theyd have to answer some difficult questions about him, they were kidding themselves.

Thats the medias job, to ask the tough questions.

Wonder which pick they end up trading back with tonight to pick up some licks for tomorrow, the 2nd or the 3rd rounder.

Question on Smith - can he do more than be a pass rusher?

He has unreal athleticism, the perfect size for a WLB, but he'd need the read and react instincts, COD and the hips for pass coverage.

But if you could run out Graham/Williams - Davis - Cox - Kearse - Reddick with Smith and Dean at LB, wow.

Howie said he had offers to move down but stuck at 30.

Similar to the Dean pick from last year.  Their grade was too high on Smith to pass on the pick.

It's fair to ask tough questions. But if I'm a public figure caught up in anything potentially criminal, I'm not saying sheet about sheet.  I was actually thinking last night about how I'd answer questions on that issue. And the best you could do is like "Yeah it was a terrible situation."  and other vagueness. Anything that hints at "I'm sorry about ABC"  or "I regret XZY" is gonna end up in a file somewhere, used against you in civil court or potentially criminal.

Tough questions, not dumb questions.

That was a dumb question that really wasnt even a question but a statement.  Reub just said I don't think he held himself accountable in a Zoom interview.  Well, who the hell is Reub to determine whether someone held themselves accountable In a zoom call? Obviously, the Eagles felt he did or they wouldn't have drafted him.

If he had asked them if they felt Carter had held himself accountable, that would been an actual question worthy of an answer.  Reubs just a blow hard idiot trying to drum up clicks for his ish articles.

EDIT:

And to boot there was an active investigation.  What did he want a public mea culpa??

They’ll probably go with mixed looks,  but they are starting to accumulate some pretty prototypical personnel to lean into a 3-4 if they want.

Yeah - Reub came off like a horse's ass there

Man, the Texans gave up their own 2024 pick to move up for Anderson. If the Texans are the worst team in the league they gave Arizona Caleb Williams. Steep price. Anderson is a great player, but still that’s a lot.

The BS part was when Roob injected himself into it by saying "he didn't sense contrition on the Zoom call." That's bush league. Kid's on a zoom call, after the best moment of his life, and Rueben is having a meltdown because he didn't show enough contrition to satisfy some writer on a Zoom call. But that's standard operating procedure for Roob -- he's terrible. He was all in on Bijan and is just mad he was wrong.

The right way to ask the question -- "Guys, what did you hear from him in private that convinced you that he is taking accountability and has learned from this, so it doesn't happen again?" Could even start with "he didn't really answer on the Zoom call, but obviously that's not the right forurm."

Can Carter play RB?

I mean, Smith was excellent against the run last year

Reub looks like he just crawled out of a dumpster plus he's a horrible journalist. Other than that he's great.

He played FB on one play and blocked 3 guys into the end zone. Random regular is in heaven.

I’m not familiar with the Carter incident. Was he just drag racing and someone happened to die during a race? Or did he play a larger role in it? Jason Peters would drag race and no one made a big deal of it.

Roob was a real Boob!

No?  I'll see myself out.

For tonight, if we make 2 picks:

1. Give me Dawand Jones or Bergeron at OT

2. Brown, Johnson or Battle at Safety

He played fullback in goal line and blocked 3 guys at once.

I thought the trade up with Chicago was pretty interesting given that they only had to swap and give up a 4th for next year. If Chicago really was set on taking Carter at 9, I feel like they could have had some more leverage with the trade. Or maybe there was another team trying to jump up?

Roob is a hack. As someone else said, it was a statement made towards Howie and Nick, not a question. Sorry to all the dumbarses led by Roob who wanted a RB at 10.

Smith is an excellent run defender. He's actually far more well known for that than pass rushing, but he certainly has the athletic profile to do both. But no, they are not going to use him as a WLB, he's going to be Reddick 2.0

He's a versatile freakbeast. Is this a serious question?
