That's the issue with that pick.  I think he's a really good player, but they overpaid.  That said... sometimes you are just in the mood for a burger.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

If I'm Howie, I stay put tonight. Take advantage of Arizona's stupidity and walk out of this draft with 4 potential starting caliber players.

I think they paid more like $50 for the burger.

I think a high end burger has $25 value.

Id love Porter or Brents, but Id be just as excited about Riley Moss, or Garrett Williams. I think at least one of them should still be there for the eagles.

The Eagles will push that narrative.  And we all would have been OK with it.  But I think Howie would have tried like hell to trade down before drafting any of those names at 10, Smith included.

eh... Nolan Smith was the name at 10 in all of the mocks from the most accurate local guys. Im pretty certain there was plenty of smoke about Smith at 10 to Philly. Thats before the draft, so its not just the eagles pushing that narrative afterwards.

OL that isn't ready yet but has big, starting upside.

CB that isn't ready yet but has big, starting upside.

Elusive RB.

2024 extra draft capital.

I'm usually afraid to get my hopes up in the draft, but I feel like Howie will pull off more than one of these things today.

The other thing this round 1 does is make even more free agents want to come to Philly to chase a ring.

Suh might be ready for 1 more year at this point for example.

I don't know that we need Suh unless there is an injury.

If we want a ring chaser, that's Budda Baker.  He may not be a FA, but he could force AZ's hand so they get poor value in the trade.  And he could sit there quietly without a new contract, ball out, and just happily move on when the time comes.

I have a lot of belief that Milton Williams will be synonymous with the eagles’ Dline success in 5 years. We may not have a spot for Suh

I want a Todd Herremans. Someone who could learn to play guard and tackle, either side, start long stretches anywhere, or just be a highly paid vital 6th Olineman. I think that is exactly what Cody Mauch is

As surprised as I was at the Gibbs pick, I think the Jack Campbell pick was even more egregious.  I'd have Drew Sanders on my LB board first, then Campbell second.  I think Campbell will be exposed as too slow in coverage.  As big a fan of Sanders as I am I never pushed for him at #30 -- more like 40-42.

Campbell should have been in that range as well.

Maybe Dan Campbell believes Jack is his long lost son

Lions should just stop talking because pushing this narrative makes them look worse

Ecstatic over last night!

With that said, Safety is a bit concerning to me.

Blankenship is a great tackler but takes sime bites and bad angles on pass coverage.

Wallace hasn't shown much more than being a practice squad contributor.

Edmunds is meh, and steelers didn't hesitate on letting him go. Talking with some Steelers fans they didn't have a whole lot of good to say about him.

Evans is just about a complete unknown at this stage.

Hopefully tonight we upgrade here followed by oline depth.

Let's not forget he was a rookie... so he can get better in those areas.

But, I would like to see safety and cornerback addressed.

One of the OT, Charbonnet, Sydney Brown would be my targets.

If we could somehow get Brian Branch or trade for Budda Baker this draft would be insane.

They could have taken Bijan at 6. So likely, they did have Gibbs over him.

Also have to factor in the only two teams who spent 1st round picks on RBs: Atlanta and Detroit. If you were ranking teams based on drafting philosophies, both these teams would be at the bottom.

There’s also only 2 teams that have taken TE’s in the top 10 over the last 5 years. Detroit and Atlanta. This is no surprise.

Just the lions being the lions.  Just as impressive is that Jameson Williams has more games suspended then he has receptions in the league

Take whatever those teams do and do the exact opposite.

I wouldn't have been too surprised to see either of those guys go in the 20s, but to spend your grocery money on RB/LB... that's not good meal planning (CB/DE).

Honestly, I'd have more interest in Linval to rotate with Davis as the nose.

Yeah id like to think they have a long term plans to gather talent before they get the qb, but i am probably giving them far too much credit

Adebawore still available , the production doesn’t match the athlete

he was way overhyped  after the combine

WTF is a defence?  Is that something like a mud fence as in "Jerruh Jones’ draft is uglier than a mud fence”?

Defense but with an autocorrect to how we over here spell it.

Scenario: Carter goes #4 overall.  Richardson is on the board for Eagles pick, but no one is biting to trade up for him.

Who is the pick then?  Nolan Smith?  Christian Gonzalez?  Wright?  Skoronski?  Van Ness?

Why? Seems kind of dumb to do a why scenario the day after the draft. It doesn't even matter
