Remember when the Eagles passed on Warren Sapp over "character concerns" and drafted Mike Mamula? It's nice to be on the other side of the coin this time. In addition to the weed, Sapp was said to have been lazy and unmotivated at times too.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I get the point you're making but counterpoint is that Sapp DOMINATED and did it on the stat sheet.  For his career Sapp had nearly 180 tackles and 19.5 sacks.  Jalen Carter had 44 tackles and 6 sacks.

Carter did dominate. None of the Georgia defenders put up huge numbers for a number of reasons.

Including they didn’t stay on the field a whole lot

Georgia took the 2nd half off of lots of games just like the Eagles did last year.

Its called annihilation and relaxation.

Didn’t Carter dominate Torrence when they played this year? Torrence is one of the best IOLs in this draft.

I think Nolan takes 0. And as soon as there's a Kelly Green version, I'm clicking Buy Now.

Isn't Gainwell switching to 0?

I never watched, but I recall a draft profile that says he struggled against Torrence.

No, it was some error and the Eagles debunked it

Carter manhandled him from the few clips I found, I will see if I can find a more holistic breakdown.

Not trying to be negative but I think all the talk about Georgia coaches not being Jalen Carter fans is the far bigger concern over the driving incident and pro day laziness.

The two might go hand in hand.  They worked with him day in and day out, and the immaturity, lackadaisical approach to practice might have been a theme for his time there.  The driving incident highlights immaturity.  The pro day laziness might have been related to the driving issue with where his head was, or might have been a symptom of the issue throughout his time at UGA.

Albert Haynesworth was an absolute stud... with issues.  When he wanted to play, he was a monster, but there was the flip side to that too.   Hopefully Carter coming here with so many familiar faces and high character guys around him will help him become a better version of himself, which would be amazing given what he already has shown that he's capable of.

Anyone have any thoughts on Trenton Simpson? Any chance he makes it to the 60's and any chance Eagles would take him? He seems like he's Davion Taylor but actually played and is good.

They double teamed Carter A LOT. The 1v1, I think Carter won most of them.

The house band was brutal. The pick would be in, but they’d be in the middle of their set so the NFL wouldn’t cut to the pick. It was obnoxious.

It's about the draft, not the band.  Know your role... it is to fill in the empty space between picks, nothing more, nothing less.

I've seen Carter called a ''better version" of Jeffrey Simmons. If he even ends up being an "almost as good" version of Jeffrey Simmons the pick is a home run at 9.

The Georgia coaches hated Jalen Carter so much that they never suspended him and started him even when he was injured.

False equivalence.

Yup. He's holding up against Torrence, while the RT is hitting him. He and Davis together, whew.

Do we have to sit through another night of Goodell bro hugging or is that just a 1st round thing?

I think a mix of good Eagles culture, NFL vets, and having his UGA teammates will be a good support system to keep Carter in check. Dom will keep him out of trouble off the field. I'm not going to worry about this until it's an issue.

He blew by Torrence twice when it was one on one on passing downs.

By the way, I brought up McIntoah recently.

I think for any of you who really wanted Gibbs, McIntosh is your next best in that mold.

He is a good runner with excellent burst. And caught 43 passes for 505 yards last year.

And, hes from Georgia.

I have sights set on a more physical back to complement what we have. But McIntosh has a pretty well rounded skillset who could potentially develop in to an every down back.

As soon as I finally paid attention to him he quickly moved high on my list of favorites. Wouldnt be shocked if he gets picked tonight (whether by us or someone else). Hes largely been slept on in the media, but hes good.

For me at least, the appeal of Gibbs was his combination of elite speed, elusiveness, route running and hands.

The only players that come close in this draft are Achane and Mitchell in my view, but they are both smaller and don’t have the arm length and hand size.

I watched the game the other day - Carter had to be double teamed.

He wasn't getting punished by the coaches, because he was so good. If he had any "real" concerns, they would have suspended/released him.

Is it a stretch to say that Carter is the most physically talented player on the Eagles?

The guy was the runaway consensus #1 player in the draft, who else fits that type of profile?

Lane? Mailata lol?

I love Smitty but he's more technician than raw talent, same with Kelce.

He did better than Torrence but it would be too strong to say he dominated him. They both had their moments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wELcYVXpNtI
