Does Kancey have a role in a 3-4?  I think he's kind of a baby Hugh Douglas kind of player depending on weight.   Hugh was built for a 4-3 DE and one of the reasons he was traded to the Eagles was his misfitment in a 3-4.

I love Kancey's game, just trying to figure out where the hell he fits in an NFL defense.

I have not seen any announcements......  If they know the OC why have they not announced it yet?  SMH

Their MO has always been to announce all the coaching changes in one swoop, together. There is enough smoke out there on Johnson as the OC you can basically see the flames.

cam was a blip. Lamar looks to be one.

allen and hurt remains to be seen. Allen has far better tools and arm.

fields is a long way off as a passer but stuck in a crappy org. Way too soon to say much more but he hasnt shown crap yet but running

running qbs are what you settle for to be competitive.

Allen does hero ball too much and runs into tackles to get the first down. He's likely going to be injured a lot in his career

So no OC/DC Hirings yet?    Hmm makes me wonder, I am guessing whatever plan they thought they had to replace these guys got foiled - Like the last time we went to the SB and lost Coordinators?

I think everyone suspects that Johnson will be OC

Hurts was 11 rushing attempts away from the most rushes by a QB in a season and would have easily cleared it if he hadn’t gotten hurt. He also rushed more than he did in 2021. Not sure what argument there could possibly be that he ceased to be a running QB.

if you mean "just a running QB” than I would agree.

He also threw a lot more. Can't say enough how his passing game surprised the hell out of me

Didn't know he's been turning down interviews elsewhere but it makes sense

Not really. What he did do is throw more efficiently/effectively. If you look at his pass attempts per snaps, his percentage is slightly higher in 2021.

I know Dean was primarily playing on special teams, Davis was in and out with injuries, Jurgens actually played a good bit too, but would have loved to see the 3 of them get more playing time over the season. I was very excited with the Davis pick and kind of soured over the season, I think most of his performance was due to injuries and the game being much faster for him. I think he has a lot of work to do this offseason, but am still convinced he will be a pretty good player.

Mazi Smith is a dude I'd really like us to draft.  Dude is big strong and can really move.

10 - Gonzalez
30 - Mazi
63 - Foskey

That would be a hell of a haul.

We nearly "settled" for our second ring in franchise history.

Like I said earlier, Hurts is a little different. He's basically got a lower body of a running back and an upper body of a quarterback. He's also extremely versatile a runner. That being said, the ultimate development goal for him should be where he can sit in the pocket and crush teams, and still be that dynamic as a runner when nothing is there. That would basically make defenses want to jump off a cliff.

He’s not different. He’s missed games in both of his full seasons as starter. He can and has been injured. Stop this nonsense

Don’t worry. We lost despite scoring 35 so people can still cling to the "running QBs haven’t won a SB.”

Deep down they're happy about it

Yea, I don't really get that. Ezekiel Elliott has the lower body of a RB and was a shell of his former self by 26. Gurley has the lower body of a RB and was out of the league by 26. McCoy was washed as a runner around 28. Lower bodies of RB's break down fast, especially with overuse.

My biggest fear is that just that.  Davis donesn't get it and is lazy in his approach.  If he understood the amazing things he can do, he would strive to do those things all of the time.  He's an enormous athletic freak...kind of like Mailata.  Mailata wants to be the best and has that dog in him.  Davis is like a happy go lucky puppy.  I want Davis to realize the force he could be.

I hope Davis's light switch turns on and he realizes the dominant force that he could be.  If not, I'm afraid we're going to see a mediocore player who flashes that potential by accident from time to time.  He'll have a career just because of his size and talent but it's up to him and only him to want to be that great player.

If Desai/Leonhard are the DCs, we should let Hargrave walk and just draft run stoppers at DT.

Nakobe Dean with a DC who will blitz LBs can be a weapon for us.

Siaka Ika next to Davis would be a lot of weight in the middle. Keenu Benton is rising DT this draft.

I listened to BWF, where they were blaming the offense over the defense. Zach still thinks Gannon is a good DC.

Apparently Hurts needed to score on every single drive of the game.

Eagles offseason outlook, according to Jeff Kerr:

Philadelphia Eagles

Needs: CB, RB, S

Projected cap space: $8.9 million (14th)

The Eagles will look to become the first team since the 2001-2004 Eagles to repeat as NFC East champions, but the journey to repeat is going to be difficult. This talented roster has plenty of free agents and won't be able to sign them all, having to make some significant decisions on key players from this year's conference championship team.

James Bradberry is one of the best free agents available and is going to command top dollar this offseason, so he'll be tough to retain. C.J. Gardner-Johnson wants to return and is expected to be a top free agent priority while Javon Hargrave will also become a player the Eagles hope to sign to another contract. Longtime stalwarts Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox may have played their final game in Philadelphia as both players are in their mid-30s.

Miles Sanders is a free agent, but the Eagles may look to the draft to revamp the running back position. Isaac Seumalo is also a free agent, but the Eagles have a replacement at guard in Cam Jurgens (unless Jason Kelce decides to retire). They'll lose depth at tackle if Andre Dillard seeks starter's money elsewhere, which Dillard should get in free agency. Philadelphia could seek more depth at wide receiver with Quez Watkins underperforming and Zach Pascal hitting free agency.

Then there's the looming Hurts extension, which the Eagles want to get done as soon as possible. Getting the Hurts extension done before Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert and Lamar Jackson will be huge for Philadelphia going forward, as Hurts will be a top-five quarterback at top-10 market value.

The Eagles also have to replace both coordinators in Shane Steichen and Jonathan Gannon, as each was hired to become an NFL head coach elsewhere. Quarterbacks coach Brian Johnson -- who has a long relationship with Hurts and his family -- is expected to be promoted to offensive coordinator while the Eagles are searching for more aggressive defensive coordinators to succeed Gannon.

Philadelphia will be busy this offseason, but the biggest question has been answered. The Eagles have a franchise quarterback.

CBS draft projections: The Eagles have two first-round picks in this draft (No. 10 and No. 30), with the first draft selection coming via the Saints in an offseason trade last year. CBS Sports draft analyst Ryan Wilson has Philadelphia taking Oregon cornerback Christian Gonzalez at No. 10 and LSU edge rusher BJ Ojulari at No. 30 in his mock draft. Chris Trapasso has the Eagles taking Iowa edge rusher Lucas Van Ness at No. 10 and Texas running back Bijan Robinson at No. 30.

I have a bit of a love/hate with Jalen's rushing.  He's so electric and such an amazing running QB, but at the same time I'm afraid that all this rushing will greatly shorten his NFL career.  It seems like most rushing QBs are one good hit away from becoming a lot less electric.  Or worse, when their rushing ability diminishes because of age they become a lot less effective as a QB because now they have to rely solely upon their arm.    That said, I hope I'm wrong and that Jalen's career will be long and result in multiple championships.

Jalen was one of the top QBs throwing from the pocket this year, and should improve in that area.

What they need to do is dump the RO plays, and use his running ability on designed runs where he has blocking and teams can't spy on him and get big hits, and scrambling from the pocket where he kills man coverage when it gives him open field. Teams have learned to counter the RO plays, and the RPO limits you b/c the OL has to be careful not to get upfield - rather see them use more conventional screen plays (NOT WR screens, I hate them) with a great, mobile OL - maybe Siri needs to study Andy Reid's offenses. Use the run option type plays a few times a game to give the defense something to think about, but not as a staple of the offense.

Yea I know, but a lot of it is because he had more opportunities to pass. He had 28 more attempts but had 74 more offensive plays to do so. So while he had more pass attempts, he also had more rush attempts. His style didn't change at all though, he slightly leaned rush more this year.

I’m not sure they blamed the offense as much as disagreed with Sirianni punting on 4th and 3. They both know the defense stunk.

I think CB should be a top priority at 10, but at the same time I don't know if the Eagles would draft one that high. Historically they have tried to play it safe, and it really hasn't paid off.

2nd Rounders:

Sidney Jones 2017

Eric Rowe 2015

Jaiquawn Jarrett 2011

Nate Allen 2010

3rd Rounders:

Rasul Douglas 2017

Curtis Marsh 2011

4th Rounders:

Zech McPhearson 2021

Avonte Maddox 2018

Jaylen Watkins 2014

Brandon Boykin 2012

Trevard Lindley 2010

5th Rounders:

Earl Wolff 2013

6th Rounders:

Blake Countess 2016

JaCorey Shepherd 2015

Randall Evans 2015

7th Rounders:

Jalen Mills 2016

Jordan Poyer 2013

Kurt Coleman 2010

The Eagles relied on 2 FA's this past season, and have mostly brought it FA's to be the top CB like Slay, Darby, Leodis McKelvin/ Nolan Carroll, Byron Maxwell. Really the only 2 CBs that the Eagles have drafted that got significant playing time in the last 12 years were Maddox and Jalen Mills.

There was a lot of smoke around Eagles wanting Jaycee Horn and Patrick Surtain Jr, and some of the beats think either would have been the pick over Smith if they were available. I don't think they are afraid to take one high, they just haven't been in the best position to do it on someone worth it.

Derek Carr is not a top 15 QB and it’s silly the amount of press he’s getting here. What do teams actually expect he’ll be able to do for them? Add a win or two and then get blown out in the first round of the playoffs?

Very good IDL draft

you can throw in Dexter and Benton , I really like those 2 , especially Benton
