I’m guessing it’s the northwestern DL or a corner.

I have no idea who this will be but he's 17 years away from a gold jacket. 👀

I'm fine with the Steen pick.  I know everyone assumes every OL drafted is a perfect decision and future pro-bowler thanks to Stoutland, but that's not the etiology of this pick.

Steen was a need pick.  After swinging for the fences with the first 2 picks, that's fine too.  He's a red shirt senior from the best offense factory in the country.  Despite that semi-bogus RAS score, he does not project as a top-notch long-term OT starter.  He also needs to work on lowering his base and is not a prototypical OG.  What he is, however, is instant insurance on an OL that has minimal depth and a few injury prone players...and a likely upgrade over Driscoll.  After a trade down out of round 2, that's a need pick to bunt the runner over.

And that's OK, smart drafting.  You can't swing for the fences on every pick.  They did that beautifully on Thursday night.  But we also don't need to romanticize the pick as something it's not.

I actually disagree strongly with this, and you and I are usually on the same page.

To me, he was projected late second/early 3rd, so we got decent value. The narrative is that he is an high upside player with his best football ahead of him. That’s true. He is extremely athletic, and people knew that even before the combine. He has prototypical size for OG at 6’6” 320. I mean, maybe you could say he’s an inch too tall and 15 pounds too light to be truly perfect, but he’s big and athletic. 30” VJ and 4.59 shuttle. Excellent for that size.

And he was good enough to be second team all SEC. Sure there are some technique issues to clean up. That’s why he’s a 3rd rounder and not a first rounder. You aren’t going to get a big, athletic OL with great technique outside the first 40 picks.

For me, this is a very high upside pick with a strong foundation for a floor. He’s already an excellent collegiate player in the best conference in the country, so he’s battle tested and performed well. Is anyone going to be surprised if he makes the pro bowl?

LOL, DAWGS!!!!

With this, I assume the eagles are just going to be very zone heavy, and Ill trust that they feel he will fit the net scheme.

Or, maybe they see him as the new FS.

I can't hate this pick. It's worth the swing in RD4 (2024 RD3)

Excellent value for ringo in the 4th. Did they announce him as a Cb, DB or S

Howies back on my good side again

DB

Ringo has flaws but as a 4th rd pick you can hope to develop the raw skills

I said this morning that I was stunned we didn't take a CB in the top 100.

Now we have a legitimate backup CB! Ringo has the athletic profile to potentially start in 2024.

Great athlete and fills a need for depth at CB/Safety if he moves there.

Why? It’s their pick. It’s likely going to be in the 90’s anyway. Seems pretty good to me.

In my mind they Better hit on who they draft here.  Otherwise that's a pick they could have used next year to trade up or trade for a veteran at deadline or in the summer.

So the reason ringo was still available according to Albert breer of SI

Two big names who at points over the past year were mocked in the first round that are still available: Ohio State OT Dawand Jonesand Georgia CB Kelee Ringo. Both are still there for character reasons, and there’s boom or bust potential with each.

Ringo’s weight has fluctuated (there were scouts who said he was out of shape visiting Georgia camp last summer), his tape wasn’t great last year, and he’s got a very reserved disposition at a position where teams are looking for a little more edge. He hasn’t shown the high-end potential that Jones has, but with his athletic profile, some believe the ceiling is very, very high.

I don’t believe this.

Believe it.  MacDowell and Sielske both thought the guy was ridiculous.

Not sure i like the trade

If we are as good as we expect to be, that’s great time value of money. Basically moved down ~12 spots to have the pick a year sooner, and we expect a 3rd comp from Hargrave.

Great pick, great trade. Curious to see if they drafted him to play corner or safety. Ringo and Brown would be an interesting tandem at S.

I'm just glad we aren't drafting pac 12 scrubs anymore. Howie finally realized you need them boys from the South.

Kid can fly. He ran a 10.43 100 meters in high school
