Thanks

I can do some yard work now.

With so many picks left both this year and next, there’s a good chance we trade up again IMO…

One in the sixth round (No. 188), and three in the seventh round (Nos. 219, 230, 248)

I'd burn a 5th next year to get into this round at some point.

For the right guy, absolutely.

What else do we need then?

RB, LB, punter and another DT ?

Two plays that show the Ringo experience.

Don't need bad Sixers mojo here today.

McPhearson is headed in to year 3 and has shown he can be a gunner on ST but that's about it.  Since drafting him, they've traded for guys l like Tay Gowan, Josiah Scott and signed Josh Jobe as an UDFA.  McPhearson has done nothing to show he's any more capable than those minimal investment players.  If he showed an ounce of potential to be a starting outside CB, I don't think the Eagles would have committed the amount of money they did to both Slay and Bradberry for a minimum of 2 more years.  When their contracts run out, so does McPhearon, and the Eagles will still have nothing of value from him since being picked.

Those 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks the Eagles have used on defense over the last few years have had a drastic effect on how they go about FA as well as the reliance on later round picks and UDFA.

Misses on guys like K'von Wallace, Zech McPhearson, Davion Taylor, Shareef Miller, Sidney Jones, Rasul Douglas and Eric Rowe in the 2nd-4th rounds puts more pressure on 5th-7th round guys like Kyron Johnson, Tarron Jackson, JaCoby Stevens, Patrick Johnson, Marlon Tuipulotu and Shaun Bradley.  Sitting out the entire stretch of middle rounds also puts more pressure on 6th, 7th and UDFA to perform at levels they aren't capable of.

Howie LOVES to tout how good the Eagles are at finding UDFA and even gave some insight on bonuses the scouts get if their UDFA gets signed.  The flipside to that is if they could draft worth a damn in the middle rounds, or not skip the middle rounds, UDFA wouldn't be depended on as much.

McPhearson has been the first corner off the bench since he was drafted and a hell of a ST player. Exactly what can be expected where he was drafted when backing up Slay and now Bradberry. Absent Bradberry, the best zone CB in the NFL, becoming available, McPhearson was likely to start.  He is an OCB.  McPhearson wasn’t a miss.  Scott is a nickel.  Scott is surprisingly worse than I expected.

Now they add Ringo as Bradberry’s back up.  Jobe, Scott and Goodrich battling for a job.  Note Goodrich is likely a nickel.

After a player becomes an Eagle, draft status means little.

Rasul Douglas helped win a Super Bowl.  Not a miss, a bad fit with Schwartz pass defense.  Rowe wasn’t so much a miss but rather a horrible fit.  Very rough coming out of college.  Both have been starters, just not here.

Patrick Johnson has outplayed expectations and not only backed up Reddick, he plays some as the fourth DE.  Knocked T. Jackson off the roster and kept Robinson and K Johnson inactive.

Shaun Bradley is a core STer but has to fight for a roster spot every year.  Good value for where he was picked.

Marlon T will battle Street for a possible roster spot.  Was coming on when he got hurt last year.  Still not sold on him.

Sydney Brown was a miss but pretty much everybody would have taken him when he was picked. About half the CBs are misses in the second round so it happens.  Gamble that didn’t pay off.

Didn’t like the Wallace pick.  Believe my comment was Howie finally got me a S but the wrong one.  Not a miss because he plays STs well but not a value pick either. Probably in the battle for the last DB.

Davion Taylor was a gamble that hasn’t paid any dividends. But he was green as could be. He is what I call a Howie WTF pick.  Fact is Elliss has surpassed him (Elliss probably surpassed Bradley as well.) On his last shot.  Amazing athlete.  He’s just the type of player where an NFL Europe assignment arrangement with the XFL or USFL would have been ideal.  Learn to play in the spring.  Note, we were saying going into his third PS that Mailata needed to take the next step.  (He did.)  Same was true last year for Taylor and he didn’t, thus his last shot.

DT seems unnecessary. I’d take a shot at WR or G over maybe a 5th/6th DT.

We need a group training session to differentiate between the sydneys.

I might have to start rooting for Georgia since they are now our official farming system.

If they wanted to convince their fan base "here we go again, it’s over,” then mission accomplished.

Dammit, I sleep in and miss the Eagles adding Ringo to the Beagles!!??

Is this real life?!

Dig it!

Maybe if he misses game 1 then i think the injury is probably worse than what we actually know. It would be 11 days since his last game and he was still not doing anything according to doc. Feels like this might be a grade 2 sprain which is closer to a month to 6 weeks recovery

Id be convinced of that even if he was healthy. Running in to Boston in the playoffs is always the end. Of course we have never gotten there with a healthy Embiid. But we never will either.

I literally do not care if he plays or not. Season ends here regardless. He should just go get surgery now because he probably has more than just an LCL sprain.

Xavier Gipson is another nice returner option from Stephen F Austin. Maybe can get him undrafted.

I say WR, TE, LB, and maybe a specialized nickel CB behind Avonte because Scott was burn toast in the slot. Possibly someone for returns unless they’re banking on Scott.

Howie joked last week that by the time this weekend is over he'll have only 2 picks left next year.

Who runs up a bigger deficit for our healthcare system, playoff Embiid or late season Wentz?

People have wanted Ringo all along and some mentioned him going into today as a target.

Don't think of it as a 3rd for a 4th. They essentially traded up like 15 spots for a guy they really liked. Just in different draft years.
