Meant second SB ring.

I know.  It just makes me sad that so often people act as if anything prior to 1967 doesn't exist.

He just left though for the same job, didn't he? He wasn't a HC until mid-90's.

You are right.

It exists, but with less than half the number of teams back then, the level of achievement is a bit diluted.

Yeah, I've heard that argument.  I disregard that.   It doesn't matter to me.  They were the best in the NFL back then... 1948, 1949, 1960... all championships.  And the Cowboys didn't exist.  It was a better time.

I listened to BWF, where they were blaming the offense over the defense. Zach still thinks Gannon is a good DC.

Apparently Hurts needed to score on every single drive of the game.

If we have a defense like Gannon's going up against Mahommes and Andy Reid- Yeah you probably have to score on every drive.

The last two times we went to the SB our Defenses got smoked The offense was fine.

The Defense? Not even close.

He was injured before the SB.

I'm not sure where this came from?

Someone mentioned that Sanders had been injured before the Superbowl, and I remarked I hadn't remembered hearing anything about it, they responded saying he was wearing a brace, without detailing where on his body.

He never showed up on any injury report the week prior to the Superbowl just like he didn't show up for the super bowl either.

I was pretty critical of sanders prior to this season, he had too many negative runs didn't break tackles or make anyone miss and as a receiver had fallen off a cliff.

This year he had less negative plays broke more tackles though as a receiver still a net loss.

Then super bowl he reverted back to old Sanders I was critical of, his very first run he danced around two holes then lost a yard I was convinced from that first run that he would be a non factor in the game.

Some players are gamers and play bigger in big games, Not Sanders he showed up small and it wasnt because he was injured.

A lot of people have been blaming the offense. Maybe it's just contrarian culture where people always have to have a take, so just going with the obvious and common sense opinion doesn't cut it. But I've heard a lot of blaming Hurts' turnover or Sirianni not going for it on 4th down. They were factors, but they were the first team in SB history to score 35 points and lose. To blame the offense is Fing absurd.

And I'm sorry, "It's Mahomes and Reid!" doesn't cut it as an argument. They were held to 23 points in the AFCCG by a far less talented defense. Mahomes was hobbled. If an offense has to score on every single possession, then your defense isn't doing their job. If you're just going go concede getting a single stop, why even invest in a defense at all? And if "You play Mahomes and Reid, you gotta score 40" is the argument, how many teams score 40 in Super Bowls, let alone playoff games? Did a single team in the playoffs this year even score 40 in the playoffs? It's rare. If "Ya gotta score 40" then you're highly unlikely to win that game going in.

Sanders had 7 carries for 16 yards in the SB

I agree, Green Bay should be forced to hand over their monicker of Titletown to the town of Foxborough.

I don’t care about anything Eagles related prior to 1987 tbh.

Starting to wonder if he plays again…

I’m optimistic he’ll ultimately end up being a good draft pick. Cox level, probably not, but do think he’ll develop into an above average player. I don’t think he’ll be Cox or Ngata but also don’t think he’ll just be a bigger Bennie Logan.

Bennie Logan was far better as a rookie than Davis, so he's got a ways to go to be a bigger Bennie Logan.

Yup, no way one should ever lose scoring 35 points.

Defense needed to play better and simply did not.

Look at first half score one would assume they played ok but in reality chiefs only had the ball for a little over 6 minutes, defense was barely on the field, now if one wants to make the argument that the best defense is a good offense then 35 points should be good enough defense to win a game.

His first carry was the worst.  He fumbled the ball out of bounds for a one yard loss. He was also unable to pick up a 3rd and short.  His overall performance was so bad it made me totally re-think signing him.  They faced a defense keying on the run but he often tried to look for the big gain when he should have just turned up field.  They had him going laterally and he showed no toughness.

He got hurt on the first play. Never saw more info beyond that, but I can't imagine he left the game to get checked out just for funsies.

Miles Sanders to the locker room

The Eagles running back Miles Sanders was apparently injured on the first play of the game. He ran to the outside and lost a yard. He then went into the medical tent, and the locker room. Sanders returned to the sideline with his helmet on for the next possession.

He didn't show up on any injury reports so if he was it was t enough to put on a report nor was it enough of injury to put on injury report leading up to super bowl.

Suggesting he played poorly in the super bowl because he had an injury that didn't show up on any Injury report a month prior to the Superbowl is a bit of a stretch.

If thats the case the whole team was ' Injured" as that late in the season everyone is " injured"

Hold your horses, pal. I was an 8-year-old bandwagon Randall Cunningham fan.

I think he came back with a taped up ankle maybe but I don't think that excuses his performance.

That's cool.  But, it doesn't change the fact that franchise history goes back to 1933.

Gainwell and Scott outplayed him in the Super Bowl.

Yup, that first run really pissed me off, he had two holes two separate times and bounced both of them until getting strung out of bounds for a 1 yard loss and as you said fumbled while doing so.

Right after that run I said he's done in Philly no way he gets resigned  and no way he does anything this game and he didn't.

Disappointing for him And the birds
