Good that Howie only swapped sevenths, keeping the same number of late round lottery picks.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Well damn Jeff tell us how you really feel about ESP

DT seems unnecessary. I’d take a shot at WR or G over maybe a 5th/6th DT.

Agreed given the presence of Noah Elliss on the roster.  Not saying that he will pan out, but they kept him for a reason.

I never said he wasn’t a good. What I said to you was he is injury prone and you were going to have to give up something of value to get him. Which they did. A 4th round pick was the only way the lions were gonna deal him cause it made more sense to just hold off til after preseason if it was gonna be less than ideal compensation.

Again they give up something to get him for a year. The only thing that works in their favor is that they’re going to get a compensatory pick if he leaves and plays really well. And I never said I wouldnt trade for him at the right price. I gave  you reasons why there’s issues with just trading for him such as you would have to give up something of value and he is injury prone along with having an injury prone RB in penny too. My point on hunt is basically a free lottery ticket as he was gonna get peanuts (also if you read my post to you chubb in that browns offense the second half of the second dropped from 5.65 yards per carry to 4.3. Hunt was 4.1 his first 12 weeks before watson came back. So it might just be the browns offense had a running game issue and hunt got 21 carries last 5 games so 4 Carries a game cause they phased him out after the deadline when he was rumored to be pissed off he wasn’t dealt or getting an extension)

They are going to get the pick back. My point was that Hunt is gassed and a dbag and would have taken up opportunity resources, like not trading for swift, if the team used your strategy. Your strategy was not a free lottery ticket as you say. Going down that would have had implications for other decisions. I’m very pleased with the decision to bring swift on the team for a 2025 4th. I can also see that you aren’t going to admit any flaw in your thinking so we don’t need to continue the discussion.

Not sure about the Swift trade.  There are some good RB options left in the draft and willing to bet some will end up UDFA.

If he wanted to continue the Georgia obsession he could take McIntosh.   Sean Tucker, Mo Ibrahim and Tavion Thomas are all still available too.

They traded a pick in TWO YEARS for a known commodity that will most likely return a similar comp pick in two years.

crap. Thompson-Robinson went.

That's a very old filter. Didn't know they brought it over lol

Still want Bryce Ford-Wheaton badly. We are thin as hell at WR if Brown or Smith get hurt.

There went our QB pick.

We can sign a Carson. Take your pick, Wentz or Strong

Yea, Howie is doing really well covering his bases. We already had the guy that misses games because of catastrophic injuries. Now we got the guy that misses time with nagging injuries.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Swift’s talent. Frankly thought he was a better prospect coming out then Miles Sanders and I still think he could be a better player than Miles Sanders.

i don’t love the fact he tends to miss games with soft tissue and leave games early. If we didn’t have Penny and we had a more reliable back with him then I’m much more excited about this trade. But I can’t overlook the fact that Lions were really high on him the last two years going into the season. then all the sudden by end of last year were willing to move on from him.

like I said last night, the Lions had some leverage in this to get decent compensation back. Imo they were always looking for either a third or a fourth round pick. They could’ve just waited until the end of the preseason if they weren’t going to get the compensation they liked because could wait to see if a RB got hurt and they get better value then if it was a 6-7th rounder.

I think it’s a fine trade due to potential upside and likely get a 2025 comp 5-6th round pick. But I don’t think it’s a slam dunk to work out cause of his injury concerns and there’s a reason lions gave up on him at the end of last year when he was finally healthy

Well, if it wasn't already apparent, Howie is definitely having a I just used the EMB's #1 Cliché draft

Jaren Hall from BYU might not be a bad fall back option after DTR went.

Not a huge Swift fan, but fine with it if cheap.

He's a hell of a receiving back - I love it!

I don't think I saw anyone claim this is a slam dunk.  We acquired an established player with known upside for almost nothing.  Reason to be excited.

Its a 4th round pick TWO drafts away. The eagles will recouperate that pick somewhere along the way over the next 2 years.

Making it essentially a 6th round value trade.

Are we going to have any space left for those mid season Howie moves?

God i hope not they usually suck

Do we not have a 6th anymore? From the Eagles app:

Id still add McIntosh and trade Scott to the Giants.

F the Browns for taking DTR.

I like Hall well enough too.

I'm not even sure if that round per year thing works for day 3 picks.  Either way, so much will change between now and 2025, it won't really be felt.

Hell, we woke up this morning expecting not to pick until 3pm.  It's 2pm and we now have Ringo and Swift.
