I’ve been traveling and haven’t been able to watch any of the draft, but Howie and the FO really did a nice job.

While I wasn’t the biggest fan of Carters character, listening to Howie and Nick push back on Roobs stupid comment so hard and the support system they will have has changed my mind. Hard to believe Nolan Smith was sitting there at 30. They knocked it out of the park on the 1st day.

Steen and Brown are very nice pickups on the 2nd day. Really like Brown and trust in Stoutland on Steen. Really needed some more depth on the OL and I think Safety was one of the positions of need heading into the draft and thankfully the board fell their way.

Ringo in the 4th could be a steal. I guess there were some character concerns there, but the DB room has some nice vets in there. McKee is the only pick I’m confused about. Not that he’s a QB, but they type of QB he is. Almost the exact opposite of Hurts. So do have some concerns with what the offense is going to look like if McKee has to play. I did look a bit into Ojomo pre-draft and from my understanding is that he’s good but very one dimensional. Hopefully they coaching staff can bring more of his talents out.

Overall great draft, can’t complain much when the most questionable pick is a 6th rounder. I’m sure the fire Howie banners will be hidden away until at least after week 1. Also loved the swift signing. Had him in fantasy and, when he was healthy he carried my team most weeks. Hopefully between Penny and Swift one of them can carry the load every other week.

I didn’t get the sense it was bad character concerns with Ringo. One pundit (I think Jeremiah) made the comment that Ringo is VERY reserved and quiet, unlike the normal brash ish-talking CBs. He’s also a little tight in the hips. Either way, all of these GA guys are in the best possible situation they could be with the amount of veteran leadership on this team, and having each other around to make the transition to the pros easier.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Gotta keep in mind also that Ringo is only 20 years old I thought I heard? Also he wants to improve Richard Sherman has been working with him.

Also the 7th round DT is 21, but that’s particularly crazy because he was in college for five years

For the next couple of years, keeping Carter on the straight and narrow is one of the main priorities for this organization.

If we maximize his talent, we have an all-timer on our hands.

First thing I do is hire him a full-time chauffeur.

Saw this on FB… for what it’s worth…

"Eagles sign UDFA Eli Ricks. I had a 2nd round grade on Ricks. Two years ago Ricks was playing opposite of Derek Stingley Jr and in many games Ricks looked like the superior CB. Ricks lost value once transferring to Alabama and not playing right away which drew some concerns from scouts but when he did play he led CFB in completion percentage allowed last season. In 233 coverage snaps, Ricks did not allow a single TD last season. Insane the Eagles got Kelee Ringo and Eli Ricks for a single 4th round pick.”

Instead of petulantly whining about a competitor legitimately garnering praise, maybe they just need to "git gud"...

Joseph Ngata getting a big guarantee makes sense.

He's a former 5 star recruit, who has struggled due to injuries. Clemson WRs don't normally have a good track record either.

He played well vs. Georgia, which I'm sure caught the attention of the Eagles. He didn't play soft in that game, which he'll need to be in order to make the team.

He has also returned kicks before, which is a bonus. Not saying he's good at it, but at his size he can at least break arm tackles. He's got better long-speed than quickness, which does work at KR.

And TE and probably LB

Kind of hard to be upset about any part of this draft but a little bummed the missed out on a terrific tight end class.  Leaves the door open for Brock Bowers next year!

This can't be the real Lombardi can it? Or is Travis really that big of a Dbag?

I’m saying this right now there is a chance Jonathan Gannon gets fired at the end of year 1. They fired wilks after his first year cause they wanted a better coach for Murray. It might wind up being the same if they fall into Caleb Williams

Hiring Gannon was, IMHO, a step toward a total tank for Williams. Is there a worse HC in the NFL? Already he appears to be drowning.

Good riddance.

Dont know much of him

He's a two-year project. He's athletic but nowhere near strong enough. He was at the Senior Bowl, so Stoutland must think he has some potential. Practice squad at best this year.

Seeing Howie become a complete GM before our eyes is a beautiful thing.

I would have no problem with three punters competing in Training Camp

Or OTAs

Just realized that Swift trade moved us out of range for Witt.  Draft ruined;)

Is Ringo going to be CB or S?

I heard 5 star attitude (basically thought he had already made it) and didn’t show up in shape. Welcome to the NFL, kid.  You didn’t go first round, you went fourth. Ask Scott about job security as a fourth round DB. Look at the roster and ask what chance you have of making the team and keeping the job.  Maybe ask the two All Pro starters you are trying to back up how they got their third contracts.  Betting Ringo develops a bit different attitude.  He can be fixed. Brown may have an impact on him because he is the try hard guy from this draft.

Those are JJAW bad agility scores.  Glider.  Doesn’t tend to work in the NFL.

We had 2 7's. Howie traded them for a 6 to a 5 next year

That's hard though.  Whining is easier.

Sorry if mentioned earlier, but getting that 2024 5th from Tampa was important.

I don't think we'd be able to use the expected comp picks at the trade deadline.  The pick we got for Reagor is conditional, so won't be known until the end of the season.

Now we have a real pick to use at the trade deadline.

JJAW as a UDFA would have been fine. JJAW just couldn't finish contested catches.

My other big JJAW issue was he just didn't have that "dog" in him. Not saying he's soft, but he definitely didn't play with an edge.

Worth a look back …

Worth mentioning that, at the time of that post, Bradberry was not re-signed and there were rumors of releasing Slay.  They did well on those marks.

While I love 40's for most positions, especially WR....I tend to discount it in long striders 6'2" and up who look slow on tape and surprise with a decent to great 40 (not that a 4.5 is anything to boast about for a WR).  JJAW was slow in every definition of the word.  The entire reason he was drafted was contested catches.  Contested catches, by definition, are inconsistent and unreliable.  When that's a WR's entire game, that's what he'll be...inconsistent and unreliable.

If Jurgens ends up at RG, I would love to see a heavy does of screens to Swift with Kelce and Jurgens out front.
