We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

My guess is that we roll with Edmunds and Reed (barring any Howie magic), and he gets worked in.

Possible. I think it’s definitely a camp battle to watch. Cause if brown has a good camp then i could see him starting.

I’m curious to see what happens at linebacker. The depth is just not very good and i can’t imagine they just roll into the season with elliss, Taylor and Bradley as the backups.

I find it really interesting that we haven’t heard any leaks about other teams laying in the weeds for Carter. All we’ve heard is that Vegas and Arizona weren’t interested in him. Before the draft there were mixed reports about Seattle either not letting him slip past 5 or not on their board. At best, Detroit preferred a running back and a high 2nd round over him. The Bears must not have been all that interested since they took a cheap trade down with us.

There's no reason to say anything.

If Carter hits, scouts will say they loved him but the security team didn't clear him.
If Carter fails, scouts will say they knew all along his character sucked.

So quite possible at 27, Ruggs might return to the NFL.

I sincerely doubt it.

I hope he gets the harshest punishment they allow for the pain and suffering he’s caused that family.

i also have a couple of friends that work in the casino industry in Vegas. From what theyve   told me there’s a lot of raiders stuff that gets swept under the rug that we don’t hear about and some of the players have been really disrespectful to the Vegas community. Meanwhile, he tells me the players from the golden knights really never cause any problems and much more friendly in the community.

I really have to question the methodology that ranks the Browns that highly when they didn’t pick until the third round. It’s almost like raving about a quarterback who throws two passes and one of them goes for a touchdown.

It's "actual draft capital used", so it doesn't penalize you for the picks you don't have.

This graph is about process more than results.

There seems to be a disconnect between what HonestNFL says about what the Desai secondary is, vs what it seems like they are trying to do.

They are bringing in all zone CBs. That doesnt match so well with single high looks. I dont think theres going to be a ton of single high deep safety skills needed.

We’re going to be predominantly two high safeties, but we are going to spin the safeties to disguise coverage. We’re allegedly not going to flip sides with the safeties so there won’t be a designated strong side or weak side safety.

I get that because we will mostly be in two-high coverage that we don’t need centerfield coverage skills as much, but it sure would be nice if we wanted to be more versatile on defense.

That doesn’t love football concern I think was less concern than what happened with that drag racing/friend dying. That to me is what really dropped him in this. Because all the news that came out when it happened was he left the scene. imo left a lot of people viewing him in really awful light as a person. Then followed by his underwhelming pro where he was out of shape.

Didn’t help that the coaches didn’t give him raving reviews either. I think a lot of organizations would be very concerned hearing a guy who’s a top 3 talent in all of college football and could’ve been no. 1 pick at some point and coaches weren’t raving about him. Most coaches rave about their players especially when they’re that good. They want the honor of him potentially being the top pick. It’s a feather in their cap.

Yeah, in my mind the out of shape pro day and the coaches not raving are lumped in with the "doesn't love football" concern.  Side effects of not loving football are you are not motivated to stay in top shape and your coaches do not like you as much as guys that do.

I like that we have Georgia teammates that will challenge him to stay engaged and that we have a coaching staff that knows how to bring out the competitive spirit in players, but regardless, I think there are real concerns that could definitely manifest themselves to prevent him from achieving his potential.

It's still wild to me that the NFL sold out and put a franchise in LV... the league lived with their gambling hypocrisy for so long, and for good reason.

You mean to say that Canadians are nicer and more respectful to their community? :o

Right. So hypothetically if I only have one pick in the entire draft, and it’s in the fifth round, and I pick a fourth round talent, I guess I would have to be viewed as having a stellar draft. After all, I outperformed the expectation. Yet we would all know that having only one fourth round caliber player is actually a pretty crappy result.

It feels to me like a guy making his major league debut going two for three and having a lifetime average of .667. Yeah, it looks cool and all but it’s essentially meaningless.

Vegas managing to get a baseball, hockey and football team in the span of like 10 years is pretty wild. Then add the rumor is the NBA wants to have an expansion franchise there. It is a pretty rapidly growing city. And it is a good place for sports cause those fans really buy in to those teams and money to be made there. But for athletes you better have some self-control and you have to be mature because there’s a lot of things in that city that will get you if you’re not.

This is the least surprising thing. Hockey culture is very different than football culture. Also helps that NHL rosters generally have more 30 year olds than the NFL.

Not being a draftnick and actually knowing who was supposed to go where, is it possible that they picked a lot of players that fell that inflated their overall score.

So quality wouldn't be the same, but the value is considered high.

There’s definitely concerns where he doesn’t reach his potential. I am more concerned with his off the field decision making. To me that can end your career faster than being not in love with the sport. Andre Dillard got a second contract and I don’t think Dillard loves the sport either. I also think some of those coaches don’t love his practice habits, but I am guessing every Saturday that they played they absolutely loved him when he came out and showed up. That’s why I said I don’t think it’s so much that he doesn’t love the game of football. I don’t think he loves practicing the game of football similar to iverson who hates practice but showed up on game day

True. Hockey players i tend to think are much more down to earth of the 4 major sports athletes I’ve met over the years. Take it for what it’s worth was told a lot of the hockey players respect the community and its members. They want to be apart of the community. Whereas a lot of the players they have interacted with think they’re above the community because they are NFL football players so they can do whatever they want. The feeling tying community with the raiders isn’t exactly there

I would think the eagles are much more involved in the local community than the flyers. But just guessing here based on reports of things like the autism foundation and charity work.

Who’s the guy in the Graham shirt? Looks a little like a twilight zone Darius Slay. But he doesn’t have that level of scruff on his head
