Division: 5-1

AFC East: 2-2

NFC West: 3-1

Beat Minny and TB, lose to KC.

12-5

I have us at 11-6, 4-2 in division but I need to see what the travel schedule looks like first. 12-5 is certainly not unrealistic based on opponents.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

They took Davis with pick 13 last year.  He was a historically great athlete.  They had him learn one position on the defensive line.  I can't see how they would want a rookie to learn more than one.  They may try him in different roles but my guess is he will play as a DT.  I don't know whether Desai will run the same front 7 looks that Gannon ran but I assume their 5 man fronts will look similar.   The DT position along those fronts can be a multitude of techniques aside from the NT.  They have the DT's playing 2i, 3, 4, 4i, and probably 5 techniques.  That's a lot to learn as a rookie and probably part of the reason Davis stayed at NT.

I don't think it's impossible that he makes the roster but it is going to be a long shot and likely mean there was an injury to a player.     Marlon and Ellis are competing for a different spot than Moro.  Moro isn't a NT.  They need to keep a back up NT.   Moro isn't really competing against Street for a spot.   The opening day roster had 5 DTs: Cox, Hargrave, Davis, Williams and Marlon.  If they keep 5 again 4 seem to be set in stone: Davis, Carter, Cox, and Williams.  They aren't going to to keep Moro over Williams.  Now they finished the season with 6 DTs on the roster for the Super Bowl.  I don't think that's what they will look to do.  I think that's the only way he makes the roster is if he beats out Street and they keep 6.

How much cap space we open up by keeping Ojomo over Street and Sermon over Scott?

Trading Scott leaves no deadcap. Cutting him saves $1.08M.

Cutting Street saves $780k but leaves behind $500k in dead money.

Actually, the tampering and 3rd round pick flip might just help them win games.  Let's hope at least.

But you are right, no denial.  And he should be upset about it.

Right. So hypothetically if I only have one pick in the entire draft, and it’s in the fifth round, and I pick a fourth round talent, I guess I would have to be viewed as having a stellar draft. After all, I outperformed the expectation. Yet we would all know that having only one fourth round caliber player is actually a pretty crappy result.

It feels to me like a guy making his major league debut going two for three and having a lifetime average of .667. Yeah, it looks cool and all but it’s essentially meaningless.

I respectfully disagree … and agree … at the same time.  Using the last two Eagles drafts as examples, how does the Round 1 pick traded for AJ figure into last year’s assessment … or Swift in this year’s assessment?  If a team has only one 5th round pick, what value did that team get in return for the other six picks they traded away?

Lol

What a sh—show.

Real or not, I’m glad we are not like this.

My guess is they would probably keep Ojomo over Street if they keep 6 DTs.

I actually like Street I think he's solid.

I'm guessing you weren't happy with the Kancey pick?

I liked the Panthers and KC's draft.  I am not sure about the Seahawks.  I think drafting Charbonet in the 2nd was not the best pick for them.  They literally did not have a Center on their roster and Schmitz was on the board.  The difference between Charbonnet and the next best RB isn't the same.

I’m not unhappy I would have gone OL , but they came back in rd 2 and went OL , so all good  .

I don’t get the ncb pick from KState , but Bowles loves him so we shall see .  I did like the Durham and Dennis picks , Durham will see lots of time , new OC loves to roll with 2 TEs

Dennis more about next year , he will take over for Lavonte

Carter is one strong dude. Makes it look effortless. Imagine what he’ll be like with a couple of years of pro nfl coaching, diet and training

I hope he gets the harshest punishment they allow for the pain and suffering he’s caused that family.

i also have a couple of friends that work in the casino industry in Vegas. From what theyve   told me there’s a lot of raiders stuff that gets swept under the rug that we don’t hear about and some of the players have been really disrespectful to the Vegas community. Meanwhile, he tells me the players from the golden knights really never cause any problems and much more friendly in the community.

He was a 21 year old.  He made a mistake.  There but for luck goes I and probably 95% of my friends at 21.  It’s tragic.  It’s not deliberate.  But forgiveness in such situations is the right course.  In my job, for decades I saw people dealing with loss.  I also saw the people that erred and caused loss.  I saw more forgiveness than seeking punishment.  I also saw the impact and regret of the people that erred. (And in fairness, some denial from some that thought they were wrongly accused, many times warranted, but sometimes not).

It’s been almost five decades since I studied crime and punishment in school.  The ideal back then was for punishment to act as a deterrent and rehabilitate the offender in most cases.  Is ten years really necessary in this case?  My guess is 3-5 with some probation, restitution as part of the process.  I suspect the court may factor in the impact on Ruggs life this event has already had.

After he has served his punishment, I have no issue with his return to the NFL, should he so choose.  IMHO, one of the biggest failures in this country is our inability to accept a debt as paid after a crime and allow the former transgressor to have a clean slate in seeking employment.  We create a cycle of desperation because of that.  I said when Lurie gave Vick an opportunity that it was the right thing to do.

I’d be more on your side if they were remorseful after the incident. His lawyer and he came out trying to shift the blame on the fire department and other things as well after it happened ( https://news.yahoo.com/amphtml/ruggs-lawyers-suggest-firefighters-may-233426029.html). I get lawyers using it to get their client off but feels like it’s a bunch of bs given how fast and drunk he was. Take the accountability. And from what I’ve heard from people in Vegas he had other previous incidents not reported. Lawyers and ruggs figured out he wasn’t gonna be able to get off completely and trying for the lesser penalty.

I’m 100% for harsher penalty. He deserves it. I’m fine for forgiveness after he serves his penalty and returning to the the nfl. I was for it for vick when he went through what he did if he actually used to change his life. He did. That said  we live in a day and age where we have Uber and Lyft and ride sharing to prevent things like that way more easily. Usually they aren’t very expensive. Add on he has the money as a athlete and I’m guessing the raiders like most teams (heck i know the university of Arizona for its athletes have it ) have someone that will no questions ask come pick them up when they are wasted and get them home. Free of charge. They’ll also drive you back to your car the next day. Can say he was 21 and we all make mistakes but has every resource to prevent this. instead he made that decision. I don’t feel sorry or make excuses for him. We live in a day and age where this is 100% preventable with a $20-25 Uber/Lyft ride. He also probably had a phone call to the raiders to pick him up that was free and prevented it

Isnt it amazing how he can do that, but had trouble knocking some bags around at his pro day? What the hell happened there?
