We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Correct me if I'm wrong, the Eagles had 12 spots available after the draft.  Arnold plus the 9 UDFA leaves 2 spots open right?

Yep

I love our CB room right now.  Bradberry/Slay/Maddox are a top tier group, but McPherson, RIngo, Williams, Jobe and Ricks are great depth/developmental players too.

Yeah agree. Kelee has given us added depth there and I feel pretty good about Jobe or Ringo stepping in when needed.

Think I feel ok-ish about safety too but see that John Johnson is still out there in FA.

It's just the LB room which has me feeling somewhat concerned.

I don't care if they had Montana back there. Their OL was hot garbage. The 40Whiners are my most disliked team in the NFL.

It feels unreasonable that I hate them more than Dallas but here we are.

At this point I feel relatively confident that a move is coming at LB. It might be next week or just before camp but something will be done

Ngata? Related to the other one that played for Ravens?

If true then his mom did an amazing job. Can't believe Ravens agreed to that

Didn’t know they legalized micro dosing shrooms in Maryland.

Apparently real effective with treating PTSD.  May end up with some use for concussions and CTE.  I know that was a joke but got me to think a little about how banged up Jackson gets.  I do worry that misuse of some naturals has limit our studies of them as cures.  For example, North American native peoples and Africans knew about the benefits of willow bark, long before science knew its ingredient, salicin, could metabolize into salicylic acid, the key ingredient in aspirin, in the body (albeit in a diluted form).

I think we'll see  a few more edge guys make it. And after Milton Williams I don't see anyone who isn't replaceable at DT in the right situation.

Don't get me wrong I like our DL right now.  It's just a weird FA situation with so many DL players available I could easily see a few doing 1 year reasonable deals for a competitor. And we do like to rotate our DL.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/all/defensive-line/available/

I wouldn't be surprised either way really. We already have decent depth in place. Barnett, Street, Tuipulotu are the vets. Jackson, Robinson, Elliss, Ojomo are the younger guys that haven't played much. We could upgrade on them but is it cost effective to upgrade DT 5/6 or DE 4 (excluding Reddick/Smith in that). I think DE might be the move if there is one.

I also wouldn't be surprised if we just went to camp with what we have, and pivot off it if it's not good enough. Some of those guys on that list will still be out there still, probably into in-season too.

The Eagles traded 16, 19, and 194 to the Saints in exchange for 18, 101, 237, this year's first and next year's second. I would suggest that you can separate that into two different trades. I would say that 16 was traded for 18 and 101, and that 19 was traded for a swap of 194 and 237 (basically a sixth for a seventh, with the Eagles moving down a round), and this year's first and next year's second.

Separating it that way means that 19 (which ultimately became Trevor Penning) was traded to the Saints in exchange for this year's first, which after a move from ten to nine became Jalen Carter, as well as next year's second, so long as you also account for the moderate move of swapping out a sixth for a seventh last year.

It kind of becomes muddy when you trace it back further and try to determine what the Eagles got from the Colts for Wentz and for what they got from the trade down with Miami.

No. Haloti was Tongan and pronounced like "Not-uh". Joseph is Cameroon and pronounced "En-got-uh"

Meh. Every QB has a NTC now. I doubt they would want to tag him in his 30's also anyway.

Two questions …

(1) what is the current list of UDFAs for the Eagles?

(2) what is the list of Rookie Camp tryout invitees?

For (1) I have:

LB Ben VanSumeren – Michigan State – 6-2, 231

WR Joseph Ngata – Clemson – 6-3, 217

WR Jadon Haselwood – Arkansas – 6-2, 215

OL Trevor Reid – Louisville – 6-4, 311

P/K Ty Zentner - Kansas State

CB Mekhi Garner - LSU  6-2, 215

CB - Eli Ricks - Alabama  6-2, 188

TE - Brady Russell - Colorado

For (2) I have

Bentlee Sanders, CB, Nevada

Chimemela Okorafor, OT, Benedictine

Dalton Godfrey, LS, South Dakota

DaShaun White, LB, Oklahoma

Garett Maag, WR, North Dakota

Jasir Cox, LB, West Virginia

Jordan Murray, TE, Hawaii

TJ Cole, RB, Ouachita Baptist

Toa Taua, RB, Nevada

Xavier Bell, S, Portland State

PE.com lists:
Signed the following undrafted free agents: CB Mekhi Garner, WR Jadon Haselwood, WR Joseph Ngata, T Chim Okorafor, T Trevor Reid, CB Eli Ricks, TE Brady Russell, LB Ben VanSumeren, and P Ty Zentner.

I can. They needed a QB. Without him they’re a 6 win team.

Okorafor was originally reported as an invite so maybe another team offered a deal and Eagles upped ante

16 came directly from Wentz so that part is easy. (The other pick in the Wentz trade was used to trade up for DeVonta).

They needed a QB for the short term.  They need a better QB who can win in the playoffs for the long term.

The Ravens obviously must believe Jackson can lead the franchise to a championship; otherwise they should have parted ways and traded him for a package of picks.  I think they're now the second best team in their division (at best) and headed for more early playoff exits.

The 49ers are only relevant because the rest of their division is somewhat weak, so they're a likely playoff opponent.  They've had playoff success in recent years because they've been able to push Green Bay and Dallas around physically.  They weren't able to do that in Philly, so they've used their QB getting injured as a coping mechanism.

What Shanahan and the other coaches should be telling them is they need to refocus and get even tougher.  The more moaning and whining they do, the better as far as I'm concerned because it will only be to their detriment.  Their status as a contender is pretty tenuous right now if they don't get their QB position right and worry about winning their own division first.  I'm not sure after losing Saleh and Ryans that they're all that much better than the Chickens right now.

Hard to take any team seriously as a contender with weak QB and OL play, regardless of how impressive their offensive weapons and D is.

I am always amazed at what people historically have decided to ingest.  "My head is killing me."  "No worries my brother, eat some of this tree bark."

Who decided to eat a lobster?  Looks like a monster.  "Hmn, I will eat that."  I guess in nature, you probably try eating everything and if you don't die, then boom, you discovered a new meal.

Dang, I was JUST thinking about that and even went so far as to do a Wikipedia dive into Jim Otto, who wore that number for the Oakland Raiders while playing center back in the sixties and seventies when I was a kid.
