My guess is Ringo won't be 37 this year.  For the role Chachere has on this team, he has a prime DB number.  I'm a fan of his ST contributions but there's no way a PS player who might get called up twice during the season should be wearing 21.

Wait... you mean the number consternation isn't over yet?

Did they sign another punter or two to compete for the job?

White was an Eagle.   White played for the Packers.  Big difference.  Blame on Braman.  Braman is likely the single worst owner in Philadelphia sports history.

Well technically, White was a Showboat.  My point is that he played for multiple teams and not just at the tail end of his career.  Greatest DE?  Strahan has the record.  Most in here are too young to remember Deacon Jones.  Mean Joe Greene might disagree.  I had the pleasure to watch Elvin Bethea.  Don’t get me wrong, Reggie was a great player.  There have been lots of them.  Maybe my comment was hyperbole in demonstrating why teams shouldn’t retire numbers.

Ringo being #0 was right there for the taking. Instant brand recognition.

Guess it’s going to some scrub like Dan Arnold or Tanner McKee at this point.

You can't make that argument.

37 isn't too bad, but 43 is awful. Sydney Brown bust confirmed.

At least 43 was worn by guys like Polamalu and Sproles.

Can't think of anyone who's worn 37.

Smith is going to be a leader on the team listening to his PC. I feel the same way about Brown. Love the guys they drafted.

Well boys.  Steen in 56 doesn't make me happy.

Smith in 3.

56 is a solid number for an IOL. Like it.

I really like Brown embracing 43.  40s are a great numbers for Ss.  Cover like a DB but hit you like a LB type number.

TJ Watt shares the single season sack record and, in my view, is the record holder.  He was cheated out of a sack by the league because the QB picked the snap off the turf and the league deemed it a fumbled snap and a TFL rather than a sack.

You don’t remember the late, great, hard hitting S to wear that in Philly?

He is and forever will be a giant but some of the best football watching ever was Strahan v Big Nasty.  He wasn’t elite in playing the run, but he was pretty damned good.  So what if Favre flopped.  I suspect Jones may have the record for sacks. That head slap was a thing of beauty.

Both Watt brothers were great players.  Speaking of hot athletes/wives, JJ’s is no slouch.

Strahan was dramatically overrated because he was a Giant.  The 'record' he holds is a pathetic joke.

Swift gets 0

The giant hate is large in you.  Note there were any cowpads in my list.

that just looks so weird...

I thought the first zero in Philly was Ben Simmons.

It's a good number choice because that's precisely how much Howie's going to pay him when his contract is up and he wants a big contract.

Braman probably wasn't as bad as Tose.  Also, I think the all-time worst owner might be William Baker of the Phillies.

Is it August yet?

I called the Swift 0 here the other day.  Where do I claim my prize?

NY bias put him front and center.  Same reason Harry Carson got into the HoF instead of the Hall of Above Average.

By the way, don't be surprised if 86 joins 9, 12, 25, and 87 as numbers which aren't officially retired but are never assigned.

And yes, it's silly.
