We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Random thought about the downside of hype: if the Lions win less than 9 games this year, does Dan Campbell lose his job?

May seem like an overreaction, but this would then be 3 years of no playoffs. How many years of no playoffs should a first time coach be allowed? 4? 5? Plus they’re expected to be good this year with the talent they’ve accumulated. If they’re not, that’ll look bad on the coaches

I think the mountainous expectations put Dan on the hot seat

I don't think the Lions win that division; I do think they'll have a chance at a wildcard this season, though -- so I guess my expectation is they'll still be around 9 wins, maybe 10.  If they fall short of that I think Campbell gets at least this year and next.  The team went from 3 wins to 9 wins in his second season.  Unless they fall back to 3 or 4 wins he will get another year.  Two down years in a row and he'll be gone.

Chiefs are cowards.  Scared to play a real opponent in the opener.  Has to be the easiest Thursday Season opener for a defending champion in a long time.

I don’t think I’m color blind but the hour long debates of a dress or shoe color with my wife has me questioning things.

I mean your debating your vision vs. actual color.  She just perceives more wavelengths of color than you do.  Also, these debates can simply end with an "OK, honey."

Would love to know the NFL's thinking behind the matchup.  There's no natural rivalry.  There's no bad blood or storylines between the 2 teams.  There isn't some great QB matchup.  It's not a rematch of a great 2022 game.  It's the defending champs against the freaking Detroit Lions.

Well, first, the Chiefs don’t pick their schedule so I’m not sure what you’re trying to call them out for

And second, it won’t take a lot for the 2023 Lions to outplay the 2018 Falcons, so you may want to slow your roll on that narrative

I don't think the Chiefs pick their schedule.  Detroit may have a decent team.  They have a good o-line and running game.  Their defense should be better.

It's a plot to keep the Eagles from being the opening match up.  Honestly, the NFL may believe that the ratings will be good so they don't need to worry that much about the actual match up.

Do they get to choose who they play?

Chiefs absolutely had influence on who their opening opponent is.  Falcons were 2 years removed from the Super Bowl, had made the playoffs the previous year where they were eliminated in a close playoff game to the Eagles.  Lions haven't made the playoffs since 2016 and just had a joke of a draft.

Because they choose who they play and when

What a loser

You know what happened when we got our tails whipped against TB? We learned we needed to get better and moved on to 2023. Remember all those times Jalen and BG were whining last offseason that TB hurt our feelings or we didn’t deserve what we got? No

15 years from now, Deebo and Shanahan will be ESPN analysts who randomly bring up that one NFCCG way back in 2022 in the middle of unrelated segments

I don't know why he's got this loyalty to Purdy and believes he's their best option.  They went on a winning streak against bad teams with Purdy paying.  Pittsburgh, Detroit, and others also strung wins together late in the season by beating up on bad teams.

I assume he's going to have Darnold starting the season.  We'll see what their early-season schedule looks like; it would be funny if they started 5-0 by beating bad teams and set up their own QB controversy

This guy is dropping many Vikings games, is being sourced by other leakers and, some are lining up with the main schedule leaks:

If this is true I’d be ecstatic: get TNF out of the way in September, hopefully we have a tomato can week 1

Playing Thursday night football games at home = win. Especially early in the season when players are fresh.

Even in the games they lost, the Lions were mostly close.  Runner up Defensive ROY v Mahommes.  Mahommes starting with a revamped WR corp too and diminished OL. Wish Williams wasn’t suspended.  But it’s not like Detroit had him all of last ear either. I like the match up.

I'm talking about the optics.  It's not a premier matchup.

Someone’s saying Phillies play that night and the Eagles can’t play at the same time as a Philly’s home game. This true?

Shanahan is a helluva offensive mastermind, but he and the Niners have had some real loser energy ever since we demolished them. I hope they’re healthy this time around so when we beat them maybe they’ll STFU for a few minutes.

There will be next to no one at that Phillies game at that point with them out of the playoff hunt.

They start and end with...

"Wrong"
