Now that is some BS.  We should sign Nick Foles just to send him on the field before the game to shake Tom's hand.

Someone’s saying Phillies play that night and the Eagles can’t play at the same time as a Philly’s home game. This true?

It's a 4:05 game. Traffic will be a nightmare but they can do it.

Eagles should counter by bringing Nick Foles along as honorary captain for the coin toss.  Maybe Tom will finally shake his hand.

Do they ever end though?

I'm not American, but this is not something to be thankful for.

At the same time to go on the road and then short week Thursday game isn't so great.  Nice weak offense to open the season up against for the new defense though.  Vikings will be a challenge for the defense week 2.

Would love to know the NFL's thinking behind the matchup.  There's no natural rivalry.  There's no bad blood or storylines between the 2 teams.  There isn't some great QB matchup.  It's not a rematch of a great 2022 game.  It's the defending champs against the freaking Detroit Lions.

You are correct that it is a low key match up and making it the season opener is a way to elevate it. People will be desperate for football and they will tune in. Why put a big profile game that would get big ratings anyways when you could put a lesser match up to boost ratings? The Lions are probably the least exciting game the Chiefs play at home this season. So play them in the opener to increase ratings for a game that probably wouldn't have attracted much attention at any other week during the season.

Conflicting reports:

It would make more sense for them to honor Brady against a division rival, so we'll see.

Cowboys and Indi…err, Commanders on Thanksgiving makes sense.

Just had a bunch of new autographed cards come in today. Love opening these things up!

They didn’t want to waste a matchup with the three premier teams on their home schedule — Eagles, Bills, and Bengals. They usually avoid division matchups so that eliminated the Broncos, Raiders, and Chargers. The Bears suck. The only candidates left were the Lions and Dolphins. And they already committed Miami to Germany. The Lions were an above .500 team last year, were profiled on Hard Knocks, and have a lot of buzz right now. It makes perfect sense actually.

I reckon that Zach McPhearson card is bound to become valuable.

We don’t need Foles as an honorary captain on Tom Brady night. We already have Brandon Graham.

Michigan men.

Eagles open up on the road 3 years in a row. Eagles deserve better!

Wait until you find out they have 9 road games.

8 road games, the game in LA will be a home game.

 That one was $2.00. Still a shot he shows something eventually. But I try to collect every rookie class.

I’m fine with that. If at all possible, I prefer to get more road games out of the way early, and hopefully have a more home heavy 2nd half of the schedule.
