It's same production with a smaller cap hit too.  Even on the rookie scale, paying a RB top dollar is kind of dumb

This scene was the Chef's Kiss for me.  Anyone who watched it knows that it cut deeply for both Hazza and Megs

It was the blue P for me. I had to have my gf explain why it was blue but that made it even funnier

When I watched it, I thought they were talking about a blue pen. Only seeing a clip afterwards, did the penny drop about what they were really on about 🤣

If Howie somehow surprises us with big free agent moves,  I'd be ok with Robinson at 10.

But as it seems right now,  there will be more important needs to be addressed.

If he can just retain most of our own guys,  I'm probably ok with Robinson then too.

Robinson at 10 would be bad. He likely won't be there at 30 but if he were that's an easy pick. I would be happy with Gibbs at 30, and even happier if they were able to trade down and get him. Chances are they will draft a RB in round 2 or 3.

I keep struggling with what to do with Hargrave...

Pushing $20 million a year for a 30 year old DT? Ehhh...

Would be tough as hell to replace though...

Are we going to get a Friday night news dump that Dennard Wilson is promoted to DC?

In the nicest possible way, Hargrave won't be re-signed unless the cap space gets massively different. Not because he's not a good player, but the cost to extend his deal will be prohibitive with other needs.  And he shouldn't take a home town discount either.

My thought exactly.  At this point I can't see grabbing a guy from an nfl team after he's been to interviews representing that team at the combine.  Those start Monday.  Also if it's not Wilson ands he leaves then you don't want him with you,  Though I think the DBs are at the end.  In any case hiring a guy during combine seems unlikely

No chance in the second round, unless we trade our 1st for multiple mid round picks. And still, I say maybe bottom of round 2 at best.

I think the answer to that is self evident.

You are right. No difference at all.  So it is almost impossible to”waste” a 7th round pick.

Almost .... but not totally.  It used to happen more:

TORONTO (AP) _ For the second time in a year, a CFL club has drafted a dead player.

The Montreal Alouettes selected defensive end James Eggink of Northern Illinois in the fifth round of the league’s Canadian college draft, only to learn a few hours later that the player had died of cancer last December.

The Ottawa Rough Riders selected defensive end Derrell Robertson in the Las Vegas Posse dispersal draft April 18. Robertson had died Dec. 5, 1994, in a car crash.

Wrong.

The 7th gives you a guarantee that you get that player. Waiting until they’re a UDFA creates a possibility of them signing elsewhere.

AJ Bouye and Adam Thielen were two notable UDFAs in Poyers draft.

My thing is, we've seen Hargrave be basically useless with a lower body injury (start to 2020). Risk of that is greater the older he gets. And yeah, I have Fletch's massive decline from 2018 in my mind as well.

But I see Howie biting the bullet and making the deal. I just don't think I could if it were me.

You clearly do not understand statistics.  Boule and Thielen and Blankenship are all exceptions … and an exception does not make the rule.

Further, when a UDFA is signed there is no possibility of him signing elsewhere.  A 7th round pick has the option of not signing.  So the risk of not getting the player is higher for a team’s drafted 7th round pick than for one of that same team’s UDFAs.

That is the dumbest argument haha

I love Gibbs but 30 is a bit high for him.  He's not lasting until their 2nd round pick either.  One nice thing about Gibbs is that he's also immediately your KR/PR or at least he should be.  He can save them an extra roster spot.

If you have Gibbs, you don't have to keep Covey and that opens up a WR spot for a guy who can actually play WR.  I know that's wild to ask for.

All of this is moot anyway, because there's no shot the Eagles take a RB in round 1. And the highest RB they took in a decade in Sanders is going to walk in his prime because they aren't going to pay him a second contract, which probably will deter them from taking a RB in the 2nd round any time soon again too. This is a loaded RB class. Don't think Howie will even consider it before the 3rd round.

Yep. Still fun to kick around, it’s a long off season

What is your take?

I'm going to plug this youtube channel again because they just keep cranking out condensed games of RB prospects.

Those scouts hit those picks dead on...

Can't remember too many 7th rounders refusing to sign...

and for the players to say it was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream is an understatement
