His Guaranteed Salary for 2023 is $1.5 million.  The Vet Minimum is $1,080,000, which is his Base Salary.  He gets another $1 million in per game roster bonuses if he plays the whole 17 game season.

He's still on the roster?!?! I thought he was a 1 year deal

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

To be fair, I don’t think there’s a wrong Kelce. That being said, I like our Kelce more.

From a football standpoint they're close to even, but ours is an American Treasure.  Travis just seems like he tries too hard to have the charisma his brother does and is more of a 'bro'.

If Witherspoon is there at 10 it probably makes the draft pretty straight forward. If he isn’t, trade back and get a 1 for next year with two last-third of the first picks with which to work, IMO.

Draft still a couple of months away.  Free agency is coming up but doesn't start for over a couple of weeks.  There's the combine, meh.  No new replacement coaches announced yet.  Still no word on the new QB coach.  No announcements on the new coordinators.  There is just zero news out there.

Who cares.  It’s February

That's probably why there's been like 100 posts on Jordan Poyer

It pains me to say this, but Barnett at a vet min is not a bad idea as well for depth.  No more than that, which I doubt he's getting else where too.

It makes a lot of sense to do this. I know that Barnett is easy to kick when he's down.  He hasn't lived up to his where he was drafted, he's been injured and he's a penalty waiting to happen.  However, BG wasn't BG until he turned 29.  I hated the BG pick at first and thought he was a huge bust for some time.  It took him almost 7 years for the light to go on and for him to be the run stopper he is and his pass rush finally turned on after he turned 29.

I'm not ready to give up on Barnett yet...

Before the age of 27, 5 seasons for BG, 5 (technically 6 with IR) seasons for DB:

Brandon Graham- 64 games, 17 sacks, 8 FF, 1FR, 27 TFL, 33 QB Hits

Derek Barnett- 65 games, 21.5 sacks, 3FF, 3FR, 36 TFL, 76 QB Hits

Through 6 seasons:

Brandon Graham- 80 games, 23.5 sacks, 11FF, 1FR, 38 TFL, 43 QB Hits

Derek Barnett- 65 games, 21.5 sacks, 3FF, 3FR, 36 TFL, 76 QB Hits

So no matter how you look at it either by age or seasons, Barnett's numbers are nearly identical or better than BG.  Barnett is on this team in 2023 and maybe, JUST MAYBE, he figures out the NFL like BG did once he was an established veteran.

It doesn't make any sense to wait 7 years for a player to develop.  The error in your ways is not realizing how good Graham was from day 1.

Maybe so.  However, I'm trying to find a silver lining to keeping DB.  Waiting 7 years for a player to develop is crazy and should never be the case, especially for a 1st round pick.  With that being said, maybe there is hope that DB can be a successful peice to a rotation rather than a starting DE.  Nothing ideal about it but when the team is looking at a lot of DL turnover, having DB helps fill a hole at a tremendous value and he does have some talent.

Desai is in Philly today for his second interview per Rapoport.

Tweet wouldn’t load earlier for some reason.

Desai vs. Wilson. Either one works for me. Can't be conceptually worse than Gannon.

I would not feel comfortable taking Wilson on the top 10 if he doesn't test. He won with power against soft Big 12 OL. He's a senior, so the age gap is more pronounced. He'll be 23 as a rookie.

Unless he's an athletic freak that makes you comfortable with the projection, there are just much safer bets.

I seem to recall Barnett having more penalties than sacks in his career (I could be mistaken). Combine that, with how he is a dirty player, and he's easily the most hateable Eagle player I've had in a long while. Graham was always likeable, not dirty, and generally not a net negative to the team like Barnett has been.

In short....F Derek Barnett, I hope he retires tomorrow.

Here’s a simple question for you.  You are at Las Vegas and you are looking at a bet that has 1:6 odds.  You make the bet four times and lose and then make the bet the fifth time and win.  We’re the first four bets "wasted”?

Yes of course they're wasted bets. You lost money and won nothing. Just because you finally won on the 5th bet doesn't negate the prior losses.

Here's a simple question for you. If you take a test and get 4 answers wrong, but then get the 5th one right, are the 4 answers you got wrong a failure?

Another decent weekend of XFL football.  Haven't sat and watched games start to finish but when one is on, they have kept my interest.

One player who has stood out the first 2 weeks has been Arlington TE, Sal Cannella.  I was a big fan of his at Auburn.  He's kind of a Calcaterra type of TE but he's a lean 6-6 240.  He didn't have a ton of production in college but when he was catching the ball he was catching TD's.

I'll say it again.  I hope and would love to see the XFL/USFL figure out how to merge and become a minor league of sorts for the NFL.  I think the best way to go about it would be like the old NFL Europe when each NFL team would allocate players to teams across NFLEU.

He's been extremely undisciplned that's for sure but I wouldn't call him a dirty player by any means.  I never didn't like BG the guy, but I wasn't a big fan of BG the player his first 5-6 years.

Very interesting. He certainly needs to play with more discipline to start lol

I know one thing we'll be missing out on

Pew Pew Pew GIFs | Tenor

Desai runs a very similar system and let's face it it worked for the most part. Gannon just didn't make the right adjustments in certain cases. Of course it worked best with 2 top CBs and Hargrave. Next DC will have it harder I'd bet
