I wonder I'd this is just when they throw the flag on it (hopefully) or if they will also let test review it when it's not called.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

I hear Mike Pereira now - ‘well by rule Barnett did touch the QB’s head neck area and the NFL takes player safety very seriously - so I think the officials got the call right after review’.

Maybe so.  However, I'm trying to find a silver lining to keeping DB.  Waiting 7 years for a player to develop is crazy and should never be the case, especially for a 1st round pick.  With that being said, maybe there is hope that DB can be a successful peice to a rotation rather than a starting DE.  Nothing ideal about it but when the team is looking at a lot of DL turnover, having DB helps fill a hole at a tremendous value and he does have some talent.

There is no silver lining. He sucks. But he is still on the team. Hopefully he can play over his head and at least give us a mediocre year. But hes always injured, and gets dumb penalties every game. So ideally, he wont have to play much.

Hard to separate BS from reality but Im starting to think the Eagles are going to get one of their top players at 10.  Id stay put.  There might be a run on QBs which pushes a big time name down to us.

Play around with 30 if you want, but stay at 10 IMO.  We need big time impact players on defense and we're looking to be in position to get one.

I forgot about him.  How it ended really ruined his legacy.

Mark Recchi?

Sounds like dessai might be it if he is in person today.

I see Andre Carter III in a lot of these mocks.  Can he play right away or does he have to defer services kind of like Noah Song did for the Phillies?

Penalties will never be called perfectly.  The answer is make them less impactful on the game.  End automatic first downs for illegal contact and defensive holding.  Make most penalties a replay the down rather than yardage. I would include pass interference and roughing the passer in that goup.  I would maybe make an exception on roughing the passer if the QB is injured and has to miss the next play.  You could probably make pass interference a spot foul when the receiver is tackled to the ground.  There is always a level of subjectivity to these calls.  If you take away there impact on the game, fans will not care as much about the bad officiating.

I think he has to apply for a deferral.  There is a policy that allows for a deferral if you can be employed as a professional athlete.  I imagine he cannot apply until he gets drafted.  Once he gets drafted, he will get the deferral.  New legislation, however, will end athletic deferrals for service academy graduates past 2027.

The two trends I don't like are added complexity and a reliance on the letter of the law.  For the most part how games are called in the playoffs is enjoyable, as the officials let the players play w/o added emphasis, etc.

I rate this draft 2 Howie's out of 7.  BJ is to Azeez what Jason is to Jeremy. We don't a million and half bottom of the barrell draft picks.

I'm wondering where all of the extra picks came from.

As long as the League thinks it's popularity hinges on scoring, you will continue to see new areas of empasis every year.  We will also see dumb ideas like replays for penalties.  Sure they should call everything like they do in the playoffs.  Unless there are no calls at all in the Super Bowl, I think you always have the potential of a penalty being called in a way that has a disproportionate impact on the game.

Jalen Carter just to keep the Jalen run this team has had throughout the years alive.

From 62 to 70 and 94 to 98.

I like him.  He looks meaner than Gannnon.  I bet he will sound even tougher when he says "We're going to gut these f'ers!" Who knows he may even have a better catch phrase he can roll out.

So if we hire him then we'll be doing cover 2, 3, and/or 4. Lol I laughed at how the article said if you thought Gannon didn't blitz much then Desai would make it seem like Gannon was Jim Johnson

Let's say

3 QB's

1 DT (Carter)

2 DE (Anderson & Wilson)

2 OT (Skowronski & Johnson)

1 CB (Witherspoon)

I'm not sure about CB Gonzalez yet, but he could sneak into the top 10 if he blows up the combine. I'd trade back if it falls this way. Getting the 4th QB to go to 9 would be great, unless he's still there and we get a nice trade offer which would be pretty good too.

Maybe Jalin Hyatt, if Siri is confident that Jalen will make another leap as a passer.

They haven't drafted a Jalen since Hurts. Also every Jalen the Eagles have ever drafted in the first round has been a bust.
