I don't think Wentz is going to get a job. Can't see anyone signing him. He's objectively bad at this point, on top of him being a head case.

RD1: Devon Witherspoon

RD1: Jahmyr Gibbs

RD2: Mazi Smith or Keeanu Benton

RD3: Zech Harrison or Will McDonald IV

Normally I’d laugh at Jakib sports and someone there saying it. But d Gunn is usually more reliable with his reporting

I don't see Mazi making it to our 2nd round pick.  After combine I'm wondering if he's even there at 30

Didn't someone say the cap hit would be too high?

Not a starting job for sure.

True that. He's going to kill the Combine.

Insert Byron Young there instead.

His contract makes a lot of sense for him to be traded.  I've thought for a few weeks of the possibility that they trade Slay and re-sign Bradberry.

I'm curious how he does at the bench... I think i read somewhere before that he did 22 reps of 325.  At the combine it's only 225

I mentioned trading Slay a week or two ago, then I read not too long after I think trading him brings a major cap hit. So not sure it's doable.

They actually save something like $5M if they move on from him from what I remember reading.

Maybe Wentz goes to Arizona and starts until Kyler is healthy.

Based off OTC it’s 22 mil dead money but they save roughly $3.7 mil against the cap

Honestly Wentz is just a sad tale. Between him and Ben Simmons I dont know who submarined their career more effectively.

Fanhood lessons learned by me through all of this:

--Intangibles absolutely matter for an NFL QB, a lot. You cant make a guy want to be coached or want to be a good teammate.  (Compare Hurts to Kyler, Brady to Rodgers, etc.). Fans and coaches shouldnt have to convince you to work hard or commit to your craft.  Lets call this the Danny Watkins lesson

--No more one year starters.  This is just in general, Im going to start putting a lot more stock in players with 2, 3 years of film.

--A true star athlete doesnt need to be coddled.

Gladly dancing on Wentz's NFL grave. He's done. I'd actually gain some respect for him if he tried to claw his way back as a backup, but he won't.

I will never forget the moronic comments about 2018-2021 Wentz. "Well technically he was better in 2018 than 2017" is my all-time favorite.

I remember you busting it open over Wentz more enthusiastically than a lot of the forum. For him to have lost you, that's tough.

I don’t think Slay is going anywhere. Dealing him more than likely brings the morale of that locker room down. This isn’t Madden, these players aren’t just dollars and cents. There’s a human element I think we often forget when discussing potential player moves.

I don't watch basketball but Wentz is already 30. I could see him taking the Fitzpatrick circular route

I used to get attacked so hard for just saying he needs to stop being Houdini.

Either way, it’s crazy how bad he plummeted in 2020. Maybe that hit from Clowney did something because I thought he was pretty solid in 2019 especially considering that his #1 WR was Greg Ward.

Gimme Jamel Dean if they're going this route. Bradberry and his holding can go.

I disagree. The result was bad but the idea was correct. Had he provided stable QB play we'd have a QB averaging only $30M a year and still under contract.
