Watched Van Ness. I thought he’d be more impressive.  I think Karlaftis was a much better prospect.

He's just ok, definitely not one of my favorites.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Clark Phillips III is a nice little player. Reminds of Asante Samuel Jr. Measurements and weigh in will be important. Is he even 5-10?

Emmanuel Forbes is a stick figure with a cartoonish arm length. He’s more physical than you’d think given his frame, but I wonder how that will look against NFL size. I could see him in play at 30.

Does Desai's projected scheme sound like Gannon's? Sounds like no blitzing and heavy zone coverage. :nonono:

It's a legitimate question on a job application in most places but these scouts have asked some really horrible questions in the past so maybe they feel it's high risk in where it might lead to next.

The liability of not asking it exceeds the liability of asking it.  That's pretty much what guides decision making...

I like both of them.

Basically Fangio-lite but with love for three-safety sets. That might have been because the Bears’ second LB was terrible when Desai was there.

Ball skills. If you’re gonna rush four and play coverage, might as well load up on ballhawks.

His lackluster performance in the Super Bowl was very disappointing. Gainwell was clearly the better running back in that game.

Stacked RB draft class this year.

Time to reload the stable.

Jalen Carter not going to the Combine.

Not sure what that's all about.

from the article:

Re-signing Gardner-Johnson is a high priority for the Eagles, according to a team source, though he might be looking to become one of the highest-paid safeties in the NFL, which would be hard for the Eagles to do. If they can't, they may have to get creative to find someone to fill his shoes.

These prospects are going to make business decisions more and more often.  Anyone who is a consensus top 10 pick is wasting their time doing Combine workouts — they can only hurt their stock.  The exceptions would be WR/CB who can run 4.3s and QBs who wish to show off arm strength

This is par the course with these regurgitating Twitter accounts.

The Eagles offense might be built around the running game, but it's not built around a running back. That's why Miles Sanders, coming off a career year with 1,269 yards and 11 touchdowns, is likely gone. No one believes Roseman will invest any amount of serious money in that position. He prefers to invest in his offensive line and just plug in healthy bodies behind it.

It’s an opinion peace, not a report

I think the bigger issue is the dubious scouts asking questions.  They aren't HR professionals. Most of the important questions for liability are answered outside those interviews

Yep they should do whatever makes sense for them. Most guys can boost stock but a select few have nothing to gain

Downside of losing a super bowl, coordinators get poached and all the top options are already gone.

We're on the road to another rjuan Castillo type hire

Yes they will promote Michael Clay to DC and hire Matt Patricia as ST coordinator.

In terms of Carter there’s very little needed to be seen in drills - the medical though… nagging ankle injury early in the season, banged up knee midseason, the random conditions that pop up now again (spine narrowing, heart conditions, etc.).

UGA alum here

Diehard Dawgs fan

Carter look winded in both the playoff game versus OSU and the National Championship versus TCU.

He played better versus TCU, but in that OSU game he got handled by the OL. His pash rush was ineffective.

I’m okay with then no blitzing if the zones are schemed and disguised to keep the ball in the QBs hands longer.

Got to love the ball skills though.

He is my consolation prize in RD2.

Just need him to tack on 10-15 lbs in an NFL strength training program

Branch is one of my favorite players in the draft, but I want to pair him up with Chauncey, not replace him. God forbid we have two outstanding safeties.
