Does a team get the two 3rd round Comp Picks if a female Assistant Coach is promoted away by another team?

Yes but promotion needs to be to HC or  GM

All that money to score one TD in a losing game.

Thanks Gettleman!

I award 7 Howie's out of 11.  I like Broderick Jones.  I would bet they could start him inside at RG.  He would be a good candidate to use to replace Lane in the future.  I think trading back to get him is a big win but I think between the 2 trades Howie would have gotten at least one pick for next year.  Perhaps even a 1st or 2nd moving from 12 to 17.  I don't think drafting Charbonnet twice is a good move and following that up by drafting Kendre Miller and then Tavion Thomas seems like overkill at a position.  I think there probably would have been a WR available at 96 that might be a better fit.

So a dead cap hit of $14,700,000 with a "savings" of $6,700,000

I think it's only one outside candidate for a coordinator job:

In 2021, the NFL approved changes requiring every team to interview at least two external minority candidates for open head coaching positions and at least one external minority candidate for a coordinator job. https://operations.nfl.com/inside-football-ops/inclusion/the-rooney-rule/

Yea it's one for coordinators. HC's is two.

The rule is a little crazy..  If you're going to hire a minority candidate you still have to interview other minority candidates?

Sure feels like this is where it's headed.

Yup. It was probably planned for him to visit NovaCare yesterday and then fly out to the combine with Nick/Howie today.

External, yes. The rule is what it is.

Good 3rd WR option for Philly on a 1-year cheap prove it deal though.

Nah. I would rather just have Watkins, and I don't like Watkins.

Golladay has already proven what he offers:

I didn’t draft Charbonnet twice. That is due to the screenshot nature of how I captured the results.  I can’t seem to figure out where my iPad saves the results to when I click on Save.

I could have grabbed some 2024 picks in trades, but given that we already have two 2nd Round picks and will be getting (most likely) four 2024 Comp Picks, I decided to go for current year ammunition.  I should have traded theTavion Taylor pick for a 2024 6th rounder.

Really want to get talked into Desai because I'm just not seeing it.

Yeah. That’s usually the tweet that comes out hours or a day before it’s official.

Fangio loves him. Up and coming minority HC candidate who could get us a couple of third round picks.

Every coaching staff that inherits Desai keeps him. He was successful in his one year as DC in Chicago, despite not having a ton of talent to work with. He runs the same system as Fangio (Gannon), so we don't have to worry about changing the system.

I believe he was 10th in weighted DVOA despite injuries and middling talent.

Fire Desai

A google image search confirms that he's a minority.  Keep planting seeds for 3rd round picks.

I honestly dont give a F about blitzing, just prevent offenses from doing things that a 12 year old Madden gamer could identify and stop.

For example: 3rd and 5 and CBs are 10 yards off their man?  Dont do that.

Yeah but aside from 2021, what has he actually done? Seriously, he's been basically a support staff almost his whole career otherwise. 5 years as QC, spent last year as an "assistant head coach of the defense." 2 years as a safeties coach. Yeah it's good to have him around, but can he be "the guy"?

Didn't play college ball. Gets a lot of love for being super educated (not a bad thing obviously, but you don't need a literal PhD to be a DC). Passive play calling.

(As I indicated before, I want him to be good. There are just a lot of potential red flags.)

Seems like a good candidate.  Although, I do think that the locker room really wants Dennard Wilson.  Probably no way we can keep Wilson as DB coach and hire Desai, right?
