Combine week. Here’s the franchise’s only SB MVP at the combine

If the guy who beat us in the SB didn’t pick him, then Howie may not have that connection to bring him back and win our own SB. Further more, again that guy who beat us helped revive Nick’s love of football before his second stint in PHI. Like a 3-dimensional version of 6 degrees of Kevin bacon

It really is insane that he’s treated like an all-time great.

Honestly with a better QB for most of his career he'd have a lot better numbers.  Celek was a very good/borderline great TE once he developed his ability to contribute in the passing game.

He's gone. I wonder if Bills poke around him.

The Bills have already built a defensive scheme that is helpless against the Chiefs in the playoffs.  So I guess Dennard Wilson is a scheme fit.

Most importantly the dude is a legend in the local coaching circle.

I completely agree with Howie in not dabbling in the extensions of some players and not others in the middle of a championship quality season.

Extending Clay figures to be an unpopular move, but I get it…they need some continuity with the staff.

Theres no sugar coating it…our ST was one of the worst units in the nfl last year.

The actual punting situation and returners…I think that’s a personnel issue.  But the coverages…

Yeah, I think you’re really overrating him.

Maybe so.

In case you weren’t over the Super Bowl field conditions…

After hearing both AJ Brown and Jason Kelce talking about it, it’s really a non issue in mind.

I just tried to check jetrolot.com for the first time in a few months. Looks like its gone. Where is matt these days?

Got rid of his Twitter. Not scouting as of my last exchange with him

Raising his family.

Ages 25/26/27:

TE 1:
524/11.4/3TD
830/14.8/4
702/12.8/3

TE2:

511/12.2/4
811/13.1/5
684/12/1

Both good blockers.

Why do minority coaches have to prove themselves in the XFL and USFL? Where are white coaches proving themselves?

College and minor league teams, like 99.99% of people.

Occasionally a former player will get hired straight to a pro staff because of his connections to his former coach (Staley, for instance).

Most people have to prove themselves in some capacity or another. Welcome to life.

Sigh. Goedert is so much better than Celek. And Celek didn’t become a good blocker until later in his career.

Desai may be a better DC than Gannon was. Challenge is his position coaches and holes in the D.   I ****ed about the bandaid approach last year and now the bandaids are coming off with significant holes in the starters on D and in depth on both sides of the ball. I believe Howie will fill some of those with cheaper extensions.  For example, Boston Scott, Pascal, perhaps Epps.  Maybe White or Edwards but I think Dean was drafted for one of those positions.  Eagles have Marlon T. back at DT and I believe Elliss at the NT with Davis and Williams as starters.  Barnett returns at DE.  I doubt the Eagles extend players over 30 this time around so extensions are going to be for younger players.  CJGJ may get tagged.

On offense the Eagles signed several experienced Ts to future contracts.  Swing T may be there.  Seumalo may be extended.  The need to address depth at OL, RB, QB and WR.

I expect some no cost Free Agents are going to be on Howie’s radar.

Eat a D sodfather.😡

It's not a coincidence that he's a lifetime chiefs fan and employed by the chiefs, dude knew exactly what he was doing with that field and how it would benefit the chiefs more than the eagles.

In the SB Siposs shanked that punt opposite the coverage… brutal mistake (not that we were stopping Mahomes by that point, but a ‘what if’). I think the STs went from awful to mediocre over the course of the season. Definitely need a new punter, I’m indifferent to Covey but would rather have a STer with some WR/RB upside.

Nah. Sean Payton's whole stance with Wentz was once he hits a certain number of passes he's going to lose the game.

Basically the key to beating him is putting the game in his hands. Doesn't sound like he would want him.

Wasnt Payton the one who came out and said his plan was to make Wentz beat them?

I remember seeing something about this a few years ago.  The part about putting the game in his hands but also about him being able to "fix" Wentz.

I found this tweet.  Not sure who the guy is or how reliable he is but I do remember hearing about this.

Agree with most of your depth moving up suggestions but I think Seumalo is as good as gone.  He's one of, if not the top G in FA.  He's going to get PAID.

When the Eagles drafted both Agholor and Reagor I tried to talk myself into liking the picks because, hey, these guys will be really good PR while they develop at the WR position

Agholor was scared of the ball back there, and Reagor wore a sense of entitlement because his dad played in the NFL and both he and his dad thought that was enough to make him a good pro

Covey actually did well in superbowl, had a big PR.

Neither team had a KR in the game, NFL should change kickoff rules maybe implement the XFL kickoff because as if now it's a non play, it's totally useless.

For the NFL to say the eagles QB sneak push play isn't aesthetically pleasing and doesn't highlight athletic ability then continue to have non play kickoffs is hypocritical.

What exactly is aesthetically pleasing about watching a kicker kick the ball out of the end zone every kick off?

I was excited to see Desean return punts, although was always worried he get killed eventually. I was excited to see Maclin return kicks, as he seemed to be a blur at Mizzou but that part of his game didn’t come over.
