Covey actually did well in superbowl, had a big PR.

Neither team had a KR in the game, NFL should change kickoff rules maybe implement the XFL kickoff because as if now it's a non play, it's totally useless.

For the NFL to say the eagles QB sneak push play isn't aesthetically pleasing and doesn't highlight athletic ability then continue to have non play kickoffs is hypocritical.

What exactly is aesthetically pleasing about watching a kicker kick the ball out of the end zone every kick off?

I’m actually fine with punting the KOs, but have no idea how they handle the onside dynamic.

I'm not much of a cap person, but if they were going to resign Hargrave wouldn't they have already done it? On OTC, he's already counting as almost $12mm in dead money for 2023. So if they extended him, I don't think that dead money goes away, right? They would be taking the cap hit for the $12mm plus whatever else they would pay him.

It's not a coincidence that he's a lifetime chiefs fan and employed by the chiefs, dude knew exactly what he was doing with that field and how it would benefit the chiefs more than the eagles.

Suspect!

Letting Hargrave go could also compound further, because they'd be more likely to invest at the position (again) at the 10th pick, which would be a mistake, instead of taking care of CB. I think Jordan Davis' lack of development complicates this. If Cox and Hargrave both walk, Williams and Davis would legitimately be one of the worst DT pairings in the NFL. The Eagles would have gone from one of the 5 best to the 5 worst. That is a significant drop off in a SB or bust year.

We have no idea if Davis and Williams would be one of the worst DT pairings in the league. The fact of the matter is they invested high picks in both and with so many free agents they need to replace some of them with cheaper young talent that they have invested in. Also, I think Davis's "lack of development'' is a myth. He was playing well and had a role before he got hurt and they loaded up for a championship run with the signings of Suh and Joseph. Does he need to step it up next year, sure but investing huge dollars in a 30 year old DT coming off of a career year when you just drafted a guy in the first round the year prior would be dumb.

I think if they extended him, they could kick the can on that dead money… still dead, but moveable?

Would it be an extension? His contract is currently expired according to OTC. He doesn't even have a contract section anymore.

I know CGJs contract is a bit different, but his page still shows a contract section and shows his contract as active.

I remember seeing something about this a few years ago.  The part about putting the game in his hands but also about him being able to "fix" Wentz.

I found this tweet.  Not sure who the guy is or how reliable he is but I do remember hearing about this.

Didn’t see that before. He kinda sorta "fixed” or at least improved Winston so I can see him trying with Wentz.

His contract voided on February 20th. If they were to extend him before that date there wouldn’t be acceleration of dead cap and his new extension would merge with the dummy voidable years. Since it’s voided, @wussbasket is correct and it would be on top of the dead money.

This is a cap only procedure and Hargrave still would have to wait for the new league year to start to negotiate with other teams. Former agent Joel Corry confirmed this.

CJGJ is still technically on his rookie deal. Eagles didn’t do anything with his contract so technically he’s still on an active contract that expires at the start of the new league year where as Hargraves deal already voided.

At this point I’d be very surprised if either Hargrave or Bradberry is brought back.  I think Howie is trying to work a deal with CJGJ but the over 30 guys he’s content to let go

If Milton Williams and Jordan Davis would be one of the worst starting DT duos in the league, then we need to stop letting Howie draft defensive players and just stack up on offense.

And if they wouldn’t be all that bad, then we should be drafting elsewhere anyway.

I’d think there’s an outside chance Hargrave is back because of positional value, but he’s more likely than not gone. Bradberry is gone. I can see CJGJ back, but like I said earlier if he takes the Eagles offer to other teams and he isn’t tagged, he’ll probably find something better.

Witherspoon and Mazi on rookie deals. It’s a unique opportunity for a SB team

Qb skills competition this year gonna be off the chain at practice

Wonder of we get any sort of introductory press conference for the coordinators or of we won't get a chance to hear them speak until training camp.

I wanna see Hurts and the guys doing these drills during OTAs.

I wonder if Howie is going to consider this a "one step back, two steps forward" season, where he lets a bunch of veterans walk, load up on comp picks by signing FAs who don't count against lost players, and use next season to audition a bunch of young players before going back to the FA well in 2-3 years when he's cleared the cap and built up young depth.

Not sure if posted earlier.

Daniel Jeremiah said don't be surprised if NO wants to trade into the top 10 for a QB, and that they have good relationship with the Eagles FO, a natural trade partner.

Would would be the price to move from 29 to 10, a 2024 and 2025 1st seems like a minimum.

Pick 10 = 1300 points

Pick 29= 640 points, pick 40= 500 points, pick 71= 235 points, pick 114=66 points, pick 146=33 points, pick 164=24.2 points, picks 228 and 259= 1 point

I don't know what sort of point value they give to future picks, I read some reports that it's 50%.

This would be pick 10 for the Saints 1st, 2nd, 4th and 2 5th round picks and it still wouldn't be even at 1300 to 1,263.2.

Eagles would end up with: 29, 30, 40, 62,  114, 124, 146, 164, 220, 249.  It atllows them to get back in the 4th and 5th rounds which also gives them more flexibility to move up and down the those middle rounds.

I don't think the Saints are trading that many picks to get to pick 10.  You never know though.  I think there would need to be future draft picks involved too.

I am not willing to drop back that far but who knows. Price would be enormous.

Most mocks I see have a rush on QBs in the top-5 picks, with only maybe Anthony Richardson left at 10.  Do they want Richarson that badly?

I've read that the value for a pick in future year is calculated as the current pick minus one round.  So, our 10 is worth 1300, 29 is is 640.

Trade:

NO gets #10

PHI gets #29 (1st round), #71 (3rd round), 2024 1st round pick

That would be 1300 points for NO, 1365 for PHI.  May shuffle lower round picks to work out the difference, but that's most of it.
