Most mocks I see have a rush on QBs in the top-5 picks, with only maybe Anthony Richardson left at 10.  Do they want Richarson that badly?

I've read that the value for a pick in future year is calculated as the current pick minus one round.  So, our 10 is worth 1300, 29 is is 640.

Trade:

NO gets #10

PHI gets #29 (1st round), #71 (3rd round), 2024 1st round pick

That would be 1300 points for NO, 1365 for PHI.  May shuffle lower round picks to work out the difference, but that's most of it.

Yeah not enough in the table there. Pass

Dude literally woke up to roast Jonathan Gannon and then went back to bed. Fing legend

He needs to stay off twitter…

This was only a matter of time.

Well that was a dumb thing for CJGJ to tweet out.

Looks like he deleted that tweet about Gannon

Yeah he's right but Sirriani like Gannon and his contract is coming up.  That said it won't change anytting

CGJ is only saying the things that the rest of us are thinking.

Since he took it down - here is a screen shot. (and he was 100% spot on)

The bigger question is why after Gannon sheet the bed in the SB- did the Eagles offer to pay him more to keep him? He had the most talented defense the Eagles have seen since 1991 and still came up lame?  My concern is that the Front Office believed the continuity with Gannon was a better option than what was avail at that time, which gives me concern for anyone they hired, cause Gannon clearly sheet the bed. His own players called hime out.

No idea how Gannon would have returned to the locker room after that SB performance. Any player with an edge would have wanted to punch him.

Gannon took ownership of the performance. He didn’t point the finger at the players. He said he learned a lot from that game. It sucks that he was bad, but CJGJ tweeting that is dumb. Keep it in house.

Still not doing it.  I need more from this year. Let's look at the trade last year and use this years value

Eagles get- 2022 1st (18) 900 points, 3rd (101) 96 points, 7th (237) 1 point, 2023 1st (unknown at time but 10), 2024 2nd.

Saints get- 2022 1st (16) 1,000 points and (19) 875 points, 6th (194) 12.4 points.

Eagles value= 997 + 890 points in future picks.  So how do we figure out how much of that 890 is the 1st?

Saints value= 1,887.4

The fact that they offered him more to stay AND extended Michael Clay sure is strange.  Do we question their judgement because of that?

Yep.  In the middle of a contract negotiation, nonetheless.

The FO probably believed in what Gannon can become. Gannon is clearly not there yet and I think maybe 2-3 years away if he had remained a coordinator.

If Milton Williams and Jordan Davis would be one of the worst starting DT duos in the league, then we need to stop letting Howie draft defensive players and just stack up on offense.

And if they wouldn’t be all that bad, then we should be drafting elsewhere anyway.

Because then you turn into the Detroit Lions who had a top 5 offense and a bottom 5 defense. They still need to draft defensive players, but they definitely need to improve the scouting in that area.

The whole scouting department has issues with evaluating defensive talent. The Eagles have drafted far more defensive players than offensive ones since 2010, the issue may be them taking more offensive players in the first 2 rounds. We saw the graphics being passed around before the SB about home grown players, the offense was entirely drafted outside of AJ Brown, and the defense was essentially all FA except a few.

The last 4 drafts haven't shown a lot of success, especially on defense:

2019 Miles Sanders

2020 Jalen Hurts

2021 has been great so far with DeVonta Smith, Landon Dickerson, Milton Williams, and Kenny Gainwell.

2022 complete unknown right now. Jordan Davis was the only one that got decent playing time but was constantly injured and didn't look all that great most of the year.

1 good defensive player has been drafted in the last 4 drafts. That's just not sustainable. The offense should remain relatively the same for at least the next 2 seasons, so now is a good opportunity to invest higher picks into the defense. They shouldn't shy away from that.

Yep.  The one thing the Eagles have a very short fuse for is things like this.   They don’t want players speaking out to the media vs. speaking about their frustrations "in house”.

If Gannon was still our DC I would put the chances of him resigning at 0.

Since Gannon is gone, it still might be about 50/50 but this tweet definitely does not help the situation.

No, its PR. They know Gannon isn't going to turn down a HC job just for more money to stay as a coordinator.

I think Michael Clay gets more blame than he should because of one play in the SB. There was a huge lack of talent at punter all year long. Special teams was not great at the beginning of the year but they greatly improved by the end of the season. Jake Elliott was money. Covey, while not hitting home runs, was one of the better returners in the league and I don't recall him messing up any catches. Kick returns are basically dead outside of a handful of times over the entire season. If you can avoid it, you really don't want to be replacing every coordinator on your team. They already replaced the offensive and defensive, you don't want to add a new special teams coordinator too.

Tbh i think Gannon realized right now was likely  his best opportunity to get a HC job. The eagles defense was going to regress whether he was here or not next year. They weren’t gonna be able to keep all these guys who were free agents. so the drop off was likely to happen. If the drop off happened it would be much tougher to get a HC job. So if offered he was gone regardless of what they would pay him.

I think he's a better fit at HC than DC anyway. It didn't seem like he learned anything from year 1 to year 2 because he had the same deficiencies. The only difference was that the talent was astronomically better.

The tweet isn’t opening for me. Who is CJ talking to?

Nevermind. Seen it afterwards. Yikes!

Odds that Paris Johnson is the pick at 10?

Also not mention of Mohamed Ibrahim in here.  He was top 3 or 4 rusher in all of college football last year playing for Minnesota.  5.2 yards/rush and had 20 touchdowns.  not much out of the backfield though.  5 foot 10 and 210 pounds
