I’m not a big Porter fan, but if we could get one from Witherspoon, Gonzalez, Banks and one of Forbes, Williams, etc I’d be pretty darn happy.

I have Porter teetering as the 4/5 CB. I would definitely prefer the others as well then follow up with a player you had mentioned or a Moss, Turner, Johnson... Such a deep strong class feeling like you have to grab two.

F it double up

Bryce Young is 5'10, 204. That's heavy enough to go top 5 IMO.

204? never expected that one.

Pounding milkshakes… I doubt he ever weighs in again (e.g. proday).

For comparison, Vick was 6’0 210. Height to weight ratio Young is stockier. I think this is so overblown

A player I am coveting is Drew Sanders. Really liking the idea of him paired up with Dean. Can Howie get his head out of his ass with the position and take a player like this is the question.

Yea, Drew Sanders would be great...where does he fall though.  His pro day will be huge after the LB's lit it up at the combine while he didn't participate.  He doesn't make it to 62.

Or did he do drils?

There's a very possibility Drew Sanders has no instincts and is unplayable. Sanders skipped testing too, so I'd be skeptical.

I saw him doing at least one drill.

With our new genius D-coordinator he'll coach him up no problem.

This is why I’m thinking we could see 6 or 7 first round corners. There are legitimately that many good ones, and everyone knows they’re going to fly off the board. If you’re picking in the late first you aren’t likely to see any of the tier 2 guys by the end of the second.

I figured Sanders’ value would be more as a pass rushing LB, like Mike Parson - not an off-the-ball type.

Lol

Height matters though. Anything under 6’2” becomes an issue with field vision and batted passes.

I think Bryce just loaded up on water weight - but the density matters, he already missed time with a AC joint issue and I expect him to get hit more in the league not less (Hurts is a tank in comparison). He’s the best passer by a lot in this group, so I’d be shocked if he gets pushed off the QB1 spot… might temper a huge trade up though.

Eisen is one of the best football TV personalities out there.  Always found it funny how much Mike Missaneli hated him.  Fuming with jealousy.

I’m not drafting a 5’10” QB top 5

Lonnie Phelps was impressive

That’s one of those hypothetical stats, it hasn’t translated to the nfl. Since bats started being tracked in 2019 by PFR:

5’11 Russell Wilson has 38 batted balls in those 4 years

5’10 Kyler Murray has 51 in his 4 years

6’0 Drew Brees has only 7 in his 3 years with the stat

Meanwhile….

6’6 Trevor Lawrence has 25 in only 2 years

6’6 Justin Herbert has 47 in only 3 years

6’4 Joe Burrow had 24 just last year alone

Whether a QB throws further downfield more often; whether a QB throws lob passes more than bullet passes; whether a Qb throws to the right or the left more; and especially whether a QB has a penchant for leaving the pocket… these all probably have way more impact on batted balls than height.

I understand it seems like this would be an issue, but it’s like the people saying he’d get broken in half due to his weight: based on what? It’s all just fearmongering, there’s no empirical data indicating this is anything more than that. But we do have data of QBs 6 feet and under that have had batted balls at roughly average levels.

The prevalence of shotgun has helped the short guys, you get a good look at the field, the ball quickly, take a 3 step drop - and you have a relatively deep position relative to the line so you can throw it over without a particularly high trajectory.

Tyler Scott and Keaton Mitchell should run pretty good .

Guess I'm in the minority with him. I am projecting but I think he has big time potential as an off the ball linebacker. He's big, strong, fast. I think he can pass rush but will also develop his coverage ability more, I seen him play the run with validity, and has the speed to go sideline to sideline. One of my favorites this draft. Of course he could be a 6-4 dud too, so there's that.

Darius Rush also showed well , steal at the CB position

Also want to see Achane and Deuce Vaughn.

Is Achane a low 4.4 guy, a 4.3 guy or as the rumors go is he going to break into the 4.2’s?

Mitchell is so small he almost has to run a 4.3 to have a chance of being drafted, but you have to live the kid’s heart.

Might be a quick learner, if remember correctly he started as a TE at Bama, switched to DE/OLB then arrived at Arkansas as an LB… I wouldn’t say he’s instinctive now, but he can get there - just a projection.
