There’s a massive gap in draft resources the Eagles have. They have pick 94 then don’t pick again until 221. Howie is almost guaranteed to trade down rather than up.  Only 4 picks before 221 and the amount of holes they need to fill on defense is far more than that, plus the limited cap space to plug with FAs.

Unless there is a blue chip player (Anderson, Carter, Gonzalez) that fell to 10, I see them more likely to trade back into the teens and pick up a few more picks for this year. I don’t see a scenario where they trade up from 10.

First off, people here take them too seriously as draft experts and put too much into what mock drafts and online player rankings say.  No one here is in the Eaglea FO and has an idea of what their board looks like so we can't say only 3 players are blue chip players in the Eagles eyes.  That said of there are only 3 and they fall into a range where if the Eagles trade up they will get one or if they sit where they are they will lose out then they are going to trade up.  If you look at the trade value chart if Eagles package that 30th pick with the 10th pick that's enough value as the 5th pick.  It's not automatic that they would be able to trade up to 5 it does show that with that 30th pick they could package it up with their 10th to move up at least a few spots to a willing team if they feel they need to.

Getting a blue chip player that becomes a cornerstone building block player for the franchise has more value then trying to hit on lower success rate players.  I'll bet anyone, I'll put money on the line that they do not trade down from the 10th pick.  Only way I see that happen is if only 2 QBs go in the top 9 picks.

If you are keeping him at QB, he is an undraftable QB whos physical talent may be worth rolling the dice on in the 6th round while you hope he develops on your practice squad 3 years down the line.

He needs to get the right coach and situation

which probably means he goes to the raiders and busts out

Do you see Howie sitting and waiting from pick 94 to pick 221?

I ask again who is the qb we should go after? 😂😂

Werent you in on the Zach Wilson train

Dont believe so

Stroud is the one i would want from this class. Youngs size has always concerned me.

I like Mims. Glad to see they spoke with him. Like a lot of those RB's too. Love Jones so that's interesting. Wonder if they are considering him at 10 to stick at RG. This was one of my initial thoughts a couple months back when first started pondering player ideas. We would all of a sudden have 3 out of 5 spots on the line filled with high quality young talent and Jurgens waiting in the wings. Jones has the flexibility to play OT as well should we have any injuries.

You know you're allowed to trade back in rounds 2 and 3 as well, right? You know if Howie stays at 10 and doesn't use the 30th pick as a trade up piece then that 30th pick is almost definitely being used to trade back to a team trying to get back up in the 1st for a 5th year option on a player, right?

Passing on the chance of obtaining a blue chip player just so you can get more day 3 draft picks is so silly that thankfully it's not at all based in the reality of what Roseman will do.

What are the needs on the team?

Edge

DT

CB

LB

RB

I think the top 3 are definitely needs in the top 100 picks, the last 2 they may be able to get later in the draft or FA.

I never said they had to use 10 to trade back. I said, Howie is more likely to trade down than up, and I don’t see a scenario where they trade up from 10. I could see them trading back from 10 if one of their top prospects isn’t there, but nowhere did I say they had to use 10 to trade back.

2 WOs I like who showed up . Tyler Scott and Trey Palmer

The TE class looked good , although Mayer did disappoint

Today is a big day for us regarding Bijan Robinson. If he puts up Barkley numbers, he can very easily go top 10. The Lions, Falcons and Panthers (if they sign Carr), could all go RB. Even the Bears could do it if they drop down to 8-9.

I’m more interested in the OL workouts. We need Skoronski and Jones to kill it. Paris Johnson too.

I think the most exciting part of free agency for the Eagles is seeing where our FAs lead to and how their contracts compare to the top of the market. Hopefully we come away with a 3 and three 4.

"elite"? What did they watch.

I like Epps, but we might draft a better replacement in this class.

Elite ability to play the run?  Like that tackle he whiffed on CMC in the NFCCG?

Sorry I know I'm nit picking but that play still bothers me.

If there is a run of 4-5 QBs before their pick and a player drops within range where it won't cost too much for them to move up then I can see them trading up.  I see that as more likely than a trade down given the likelihood of an early run on QBs.  Tremendous opportunity anytime you are drafting this early in the draft.  Especially when you just made the Super Bowl. You use that opportunity to get a blue chip talent.

They will be trading down at some point in the draft, I just don't see it at all being likely with that 10th pick.

One of the few defenders who gave a F in the SB.

That might is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. Epps is far more elite than anyone the Eagles have drafted at safety since… Nate Allen, Jaiquwan  Jarrett, Kavon Wallace, Ed Reynolds.

I think Blankenship is enough to replace Epps, but Eagles have not had a good history drafting any DBs.

Hilarious.
