Outside of measurements, I'm really struggling to see any way that Carter is better than Kancey.  There's going to be the SEC competition talk but I'm not buying that.  We're here discussing Javon Hargrave and he played at South Carolina State.  Kancey is more explosive, has better hands and just plays at a higher level IMO.  I also think Carter displays some lazy characteristics from games I've watched whereas Kancey doesn't have the opportunity to be lazy due to his size.

I just think Kancey is tenacious and is going to be a hell of a pro.

What do we think the Hurts number will be if Smith got $35 mil/yr?

$45 mil/yr?

Murray and Watson are both at $46M per year and neither of them have had any playoff success.  Hurts will slot in around $48-49M

This is getting old , so much drama

Tom Brady might not be "done after all" with his playing in the NFL, according to @RichEisenShow who talked to people in Indy.

Poor Daniel Jones.  Carr at $37M per year and Geno at $35M.  Pretty much puts an end to his $40M+ pipe dream

I don't know about that.  He's much younger than either Carr or Geno so the argument can be made by his agents that the best has yet to come for Daniel Jones.

Good for Geno. That’s one of the better success stories in a while. 9 years in the league bouncing around and gets his big payday.

What sucks about that deal though is it likely takes the Seahawks out of the running for a QB at 5.  Maybe they still go Richardson with the plan to sit him for a couple years but I see that as highly unlikely now.

Doesn't change anything.  Makes them an even more likely trade-down candidate for another team that wants a QB.

Depends on GTD and # of years. If they can save $ going longer deal fully gtd they save money and can continue to build a good team.

Why wouldn't they just take an elite defensive player at 5 when they need talent on the defensive side the ball and are already stacked with picks in this draft from the Russell Wilson trade?

Yea, I think Anderson to the Seahawks is a lock.  He's a prototypical Seattle defensive player.

Why is Arizona refusing to draft him? Or Chicago if they move down to Indy’s spot. There’s no way he’s still available at 5

I meant that as in if he's there they aren't passing up on him.

There may not be a more dumb, hoagie mouthed representation of everything wrong with Philly sports than Marcus Hayes. How does this guy have a job?

Because they still need a long-term answer at quarterback?  They can easily go the route of Green Bay, take a young player and let him sit until he's ready.  Perfect situation for someone like Richardson if they're into him, even Levis.

Plus there's no telling who's going to be on the clock for them at 5.  Anderson could very well be long gone to Arizona.  Jalen Carter doesn't sound like a top-5 lock anymore.  Tyree Wilson is a specimen but he's going to be a project of a pick, kind of risky for top-5.  Any other defensive prospect wouldn't give them nearly as much value as a QB at that point.

Or if they really like a CB or someone like Wilson, they can roll up picks for next year too and still get him.

Sucks for the idiots who paid for the sand in the jar from where he retired again this off-season

If they want one of those QBs then they would just take one at 5.  No reason to trade down if they are trading down to another team trading up for a QB.

That's my point - QB is still very much in play for them at 5.  Or, conversely, them extending Geno could make them that much more attractive of a trading spot for someone wanting to move up.  #5 is most likely going to be a QB at this point whether it's Seattle taking them or someone else.

They want Jalen happy he will get 50/yr

Don't know why Dolphins are mentioned

With Gannon there as head coach I’d bet the seamstress has already sewn the Anderson name on the Cards’ jersey

I’d argue that carr was phenomenal with the raiders given the situation(s) he’s dealt with since being drafted.

He's Andy Dalton.

From a cap perspective, not only do they want to pay Hurts soon, but they also need to get from the under the dead cap hell they've been in since before Wentz flounced off.  They can either perpetuate the cycle, or use this year as quiet redo in order to push the franchise on again. As such, transition to a new Eagles era

There is no dead cap hell.

I think there's no way to sign Hargrave at $20m.  He's a risk to sign at that price because of his age.  I think Davis played better than people give him credit for on here as did Williams.  I think they will add a DT in the draft in an early round but not re-sign Hargrave.

There really appear to be no free agent DTs. So if you arent signing Hargrave, you better be sure you are getting a good one through the draft.

And hopefully, at some point later in free agency, they can get one of Cox, Suh, or Joseph back cheap for another year for depth.

Always the chance someone offers the sun, the moon, the stars for the privilege of drafting Will Levis, but Chicago most likely trades down to 4 and still gets Anderson anyway

Why not Lamaar to Atlanta, they way more need  QB than rb and so do Pitts and London

Lamar isn't a QB though.
