This is getting old , so much drama

Tom Brady might not be "done after all" with his playing in the NFL, according to @RichEisenShow who talked to people in Indy.

"Folks are saying keep an eye on Miami."

I said this weeks ago.  Brady will be a 49er in 2023.

Not looking forward to when DeVonta’s rookie deal ends. Probably going to have to choose between him and AJ. I’d honestly pick Smith.

Posted about this scenario the other day and why if Jaxon Smith-Njigba is there at 30 you have to consider him.  If JSN was healthy and played a full season, I think he'd be a top 15 guy.  The Eagles need a new WR3.  Watkins isn't the guy and it's likely he's moved.  Pascal is a FA and even if he comes back, WR4 is his role.  You can add a player like JSN and in 2025, when the decision to extend Smith and either restructure or trade AJ Brown is staring you in the face, you have what hopefully is a very good WR3 ready to step in to a starting role.

Have to consider it. But it would there likely isnt a second deal Smitty…or aj is gone

Chark is coming off a disappointing year.  I'll take him.

Mack Hollins is coming iffy a breakout year but if his price is still reasonable,  I'll take him.

I'll even take Agholor back if he's over his Simmons disease.

There are even still other solid options on free agency as well.

And then,  there's later round draft picks.

No need to take a round 1 WR.

Apparently according to Hayes, Lurie and Howie were in favor of Dennard Wilson for DC. Sirianni pushed for Dessai. They ultimately let him pick his coach.

At the Eagles website, Dave is saying the team is not expected to use a franchise tag on anyone.  It means all the team FAs will be in the open market by this afternoon.

Legal tampering doesn’t start until next Monday. They still have time to sign anyone before they hit the open market.

Just being realistic about the money situation and options we can look at.  He may be an upgrade over Quez after Quez's regression last year.

Bates should definitely be used to can his bluff. That's a fine pivot option.

It’s funny that there’s a "legal tampering” window when a bunch of FA deals were agreed to last week in Indy.

Sounds like a Howie Special.   Draft him, let him sit and rehab on PUP... activate to practice for a few weeks then move him to IR, or keep him active if the injuries have piled up on the OL.

The funny thing is why even bother to have a 'tampering' period.  Just start the FA period at the Combine.  Yeah, its a lot for the front offices to juggle, but it rewards the ones that are the most organized.

There is no dead cap hell.

There has been (Jackson, Brooks, Wentz, Cox etc - they temporarily broke the dead cap record) that necessitated the move to void years on deals and restructures to sign FAs.  The issue is after that, fitting in a mega Hurts contract and keeping the team competitive.

wow! good for you. Congratulations on an amazing career. We could never thank you enough for what you've done. I hope you enjoy your retirement. And possibly get back to posting more.

Agreed!  Hope he posts more, and you post less.  As in, not at all

Has us trading back from 10 to 14, picking up a third round pick and 2024 fourth round pick. The Pats get Skoronski and we take Bijan. At 30, we snag Darnell Wright.

Booooooooo

Could see hurts waiting to donhis contract after they sort out the top free agents

If we drafted Bijan Robinson I would be excited but also know it probably isn't the best for our team

Our running game would be a juggernaut though and it would be fun to watch

Caps estimated to go up about $30 million every year with the new TV deals, previously they were only going up $10 million a year. Teams will have more space to work with and more flexibility. They don't have to worry about DeVonta until 2024/2025. There's a new era coming for the Eagles, and 2023/2024 will be a big turning point.
