Caps estimated to go up about $30 million every year with the new TV deals, previously they were only going up $10 million a year. Teams will have more space to work with and more flexibility. They don't have to worry about DeVonta until 2024/2025. There's a new era coming for the Eagles, and 2023/2024 will be a big turning point.

If i were howie i try to frontload hurts contract with salary to preserve flexibility a few years out

have to keep smitty. Aj will be older by then

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Has us trading back from 10 to 14, picking up a third round pick and 2024 fourth round pick. The Pats get Skoronski and we take Bijan. At 30, we snag Darnell Wright.

Trading down and getting Bijan is not a bad result. It offsets the RB in RD1 issue.

NO TRADE TUESDAY

I almost wonder if it would be better to have the draft before FA. I know the NFLPA would disagree but from a GM perspective I feel like it may be more advantageous

Trading down to target a player seems like such a bad idea because you don't know who might be interested in taking that player or then trading up ahead of you to take that player.

Are you fine spending a 1st round pick on a player where, in the best case scenario, you are getting 6 maybe 7 years of production?

Putting RB aside, yes to this question. Most 1st rounders don't hit 5 years.

If all of these Eagles players hit free agency (I'll leave Kelce out as he'll be back or retire IMO), their market value according to spotrac for comp pick formula purposes is:

Hargrave -- $20M

Bradberry -- $15M

Cox -- $14M

CJGJ -- $13M

Seumalo -- $12M

Edwards -- $12M

Kyzir White -- $8.5M

Sanders -- $7.2M

Graham -- $5.7M

Some other guys with no market value listed would be Minshew, Dillard, Epps, etc.  As the maximum comp picks a team can be awarded is 4, it makes me wonder who gets brought back/who gets brought in via free agency signings.

We are specifically talking about RBs. They have a shorter shelf life than just about any other position, and plenty of them don't last 5 years.

Agreed!  Hope he posts more, and you post less.  As in, not at all

I am one of the best posters ever. I will never leave.

What one player (non first rounder) do you really hope ends up on our team?  I'd like for us to get Captain Jack Campbell and put him alongside Dean.

First these mocks had us taking a linebacker every year now it's running back, the two positions most likely Howie would never take. But, I am a Bijan fan and think he will be an elite offensive player that can do a hell of a lot in the passing game as well. So I would not hate it at all, especially in a trade back option.

Todd McShay has us passing on Carter to take Bijan.

I WOULD BE LIVID.

I wouldn't mind Bijan and he'd another wrinkle on an already dynamite offense.  It'd be amazing if we could get him at #30.

I believe we're going CB at #10.  Howie has a history of using draft picks to replace guys that are going to be leaving in the next few years.  The most obvious loss that we'll have is Slay next year.  For that reason, my stone-cold lead-pipe lock is that we're going CB in round 1.

It makes my blood boil too.  I don't think Robinson will be able to commit nearly as many crimes as Carter will.

Awful.

If all the top guys are gone by 9, so we trade down for Nolan Smith, Bijan, Forbes, etc. that makes sense.

Passing on Carter to take an RB? GTFO.

I said this weeks ago.  Brady will be a 49er in 2023.

While I get the "all in" aspect, I would imagine they would want to see what they have in Lance this year to determine if they exercise his 5th year option next off season.  I think bringing in a Mayfield to go along with Purdy would be more their MO.

I'll predict trenches.  One of these 3 Myles Murphy, Van Ness, or Paris Johnson Jr..

Wonder if Lurie was reaching out to his connections to try to hook Wilson up.

I could be wrong (CYA disclaimer), but you have to make the decision after year 3.

Edit: Yup.  And the window is limited.  For example, 2020 first round picks must be extended by May 1, 2023.  So we have to hurry to decide on Reagor.

I was mocking the saints in another thread and it made me stumble on something I've NEVER seen before.  Next year is Michael Thomas' final year of his contract. It also marks the only year they could cut him for a cap savings.

How much savings you ask?

ONE DOLLAR.
