That'd be pretty crazy if Love ends up being another top QB. How messed up would it be for them to have 3 in a row?

I don't think there's a market for Rodgers outside of the Jets.  McDaniels has apparently already ruled out the Raiders acquiring him, if the Titans have to unload Henry there's no way they're burdening themselves with a Rodgers headache (seeing as they have no WR talent, Rodgers won't sign off on that deal), I think SF sticks with Lance/Purdy and MIA are not good at keeping secrets -- if they were in on Rodgers everyone would know it by now.

The return for Rodgers would be the Jets first round pick, and I doubt much more.

Are we under the assumption there’s no way that he goes back to Green Bay? I get there’s rumors saying that they’re tired of him. Were similar rumors two years ago and he played the two more years. I don’t rule that out. Also could see other teams get involved when the cost is that low for rodgers. If i were another team i wouldn’t let my plans be known or leaked either. I mean did any one of us know aj brown was a legitimate possibility to be traded to the eagles? We talked about how it would be awesome but no definitive reports saying they were in. And ditto when they tried to deal for Ridley. I think most teams unlike the Jets aren’t going to give you what they’re actually going to do. Just deny or leak bs out

Would be better than the chargers who drafted Brees then rivers then herbert.

I'm under the assumption he does go back.  He's a $59M cap hit so the Packers have to play him.  They want to get rid of him badly,  but they were stupid enough to give him that extension.  If he retires they're stuck with the huge financial burden as well.

If I was Lafleur I would tell him "you're going to the Jets, or we're sitting you on the bench while Love is our starter."  I don't think even Lafleur has that job security to sit a $59M contract on the bench, though.

Still don’t know why Rodgers wasn’t traded away last season when they got rid of his best weapon fit draft picks. That’s GM malpractice.

I don’t think he does either. Plus if LaFleur told him that i think he says F it and retires.

I said two years ago they should’ve traded Rogers them. Cause that was his maximum value on the trade market. he still had probably 4 years left. And people would’ve given you a boatload of picks along with the Adams picks. so you could’ve rebuilt entire roster and if Jordan love wasn’t the guy, you’ve been position to go get another quarterback.

I think there’s a team out there that’s not being talked about that’s good to wind up finding their way into this discussion for Aaron Rodgers. And that’s where I think it’s going to help the Packers. I look at the Jets this way, what do you have a quarterback if you don’t get Aaron Rodgers? You’re going to overpay for Jimmy G in free agency? Because he’s going to get overpaid because there’s gonna be a market for him. There’s already been three teams rumors around him.

If Jimmy G doesn’t sign with you, then the only other option to get yourself a quarterback is either draft and hope he’s good. Which you already tried and failed. Plus i think jets coaches and Fo might be in a position of make the playoffs or potentially on the hot seat. Or go all in on Lamar Jackson. whose contract demands on top of the compensation to get him is steep.

so I just think the Jets are in a world of trouble if they don’t get this Aaron Rodgers trade done.  they kind of put all the eggs in that basket taking this risk. So if I’m the Packers, I’m using that against them. And that’s why I think they’re gonna get a little bit more than what people think

Think he winds up in atlanta by the end of this. Whoever if I’m Carolina I’d likely try to make a push too.

Jets locker room could be wild if they don’t get him

The Jets already need to explain why they didn't get Carr signed when they had him in the building for two days.  The contract he got from the Saints is basically 3 years and $100M, because in 2026 Carr will be due $50M with only $11M dead money.  Very doubtful the Saints will be paying Carr $50M salary for 2026.

I think Jimmy G lands in Las Vegas to reunite with McDaniels.  Lamar Jackson likely ends up in Atlanta if he's moved.  The Jets need a veteran QB their fans can get behind -- which means Joe Douglas had better pull a rabbit out of his ass.

Brilliant move by the Ravens to do the non-exclusive tag, actually.  They want rid of him.

I had assumed it would be the exclusive tag because they wanted more than the two first round picks in return.  Maybe they've assessed his trade market wouldn't be any better than that given his contract demands?

He needs a reality check that he's not getting more than 230 million guaranteed

Exactly. That’s why I said I think the Jets are in a horrible spot in terms of negotiations with rodgers. Because everyone knows now you need Aaron Rodgers. Because the odds are you’re not gonna get Lamar Jackson or Jimmy Garoppolo. so the one last Hope you have is there is Rodgers. If I’m the Packers, I’m 100% sticking it to the jet because I know that. The only other alternative they have is it they go to the draft and develop a Qb. But that roster is built right now to be a playoff contender. Their defense and their weapons are very good. With what happened with Wilson i don’t think that’s an option.

which comes back to me saying, I think the Packers are gonna get more than what people think just because the Jets were put themselves in this predicament and i don’t think it’s out of the question the packers bring rodgers back and not trade him. Cause they had a war with their GM and him and still did and gave him that extension.

Basically, they're betting no one else will give him what he wants -- the Deshaun Watson fully guaranteed deal. If they do, well...Ravens get two firsts and rebuild. If he just gets offers in the range Baltimore has been making, then they can just match and keep him.

Basically telling Lamar -- you think we're lowballing you, then go prove it. I don't think anyone gives him the Watson deal, especially if the Jets get Rodgers.

I think he stays with Ravens or goes to Washington.

I think the problem with the Lamar Jackson trade market is that he’s asking for an astronomical amount guaranteed. So not only do you have to sign him to that contract but also giving up draft capital which you probably really need to build the team up because of what he’s asking for. Whatever team trades for him they better have the team built up around him cause it’s gonna be harder to just spend money in FA with his contract and you are  down 2 firsts.

I tend to say some BS on this. Falcons were on on Deshaun watson with a bunch of legal issues  and willing to give up the compensation it took to get him. It was more they didn’t want to give him that contract. I’m guessing if they are out it’s for the same reason but i could see them coming back in if that changes.

The Jets are the one team that could make some sense since so much of their team is young. They'd have to restructure some guys, but with guys like Sauce and Williams on rookie deals, they might be able to swing it (though Q. Williams needs an extension).

Tbh it would have to be a bad organization that does it or someone really desperate. I could see Carolina going all in on him. They’ve needed a Qb since cam left but they lost picks recently due to darnold. However i think they go draft.

The team I think could become desperate is the jets. If this Aaron Rodgers thing falls apart or Green Bay just decides to keep them, or he gets trades him elsewhere, I think they become desperate. I think at that point you might see them doing that. Because that team is legitimately a quarterback away from being a very good team. If they had a good quarterback last year, they likely make the playoffs, and they probably could’ve won a game in the playoffs.

They're probably in if it wasn't for that ridiculous asking price Lamar has

Yeah why i felt some bs. If Lamar sees no one else is going to pay that and he softens his stance a little bit then I can see the Falcons getting back in on that. But really if he softens stance, I don’t really think the ravens gonna wind up trading him at that point.
