CJGJ wants to get paid. We ain’t doing that. I want him back too, trust me. But it’s not happening. The eagles are gonna have to hope some vets are willing to take lesser deals to come here and win, take chances on getting guys at a reasonable price and hope they step up (ala Reddick), or trade some picks for disgruntled players at the end of their contracts with their current teams. We just can’t pay everyone. And Gardner-Johnson has been pretty clear he wants to get paid handsomely.

We can’t pay everyone or anyone? These boards make it seem like we won’t be able to bring anyone back. Someone is getting paid and my money is on CJGJ.

Yep. Howies excuse for not wanting to extend guys during the season made sense, during the season. He's had weeks to bring back CJGJ since and at this point, I doubt he makes an offer to anyone that compels them to sign 6 days before FA starts. He might have some offers on the table for some guys but it sure seems like everyone is going to test the market, and the market is going to dictate who stays and who goes.

I think johnson from the browns makes some sense when Jes released. He doesn’t effect your comp picks as he was released and not a free agent where his contract expired

I suspect Howie has been negotiating within his valuation with the players he would be interested in extending while viewing which players (like Hurts) that will need upcoming extensions. Howie’s dead money has come home to roost and it will have an impact.  I suspect that extension offers are based on age.  Nothing in the coming two weeks will likely surprise us.
