Kinda wish Kelce would make up his mind before the start of free agency here.

He’s coming back. I’d be shocked if we lost him too. I bet Howie has an idea of his intentions.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Eagles fans have blindly defended him like a son since before he was drafted. You’re spot on with this. I don’t see it. I definitely don’t see anything worth trading up for. Really hope he proves me wrong.

Yep.

Seahawks possibly could take another step. NYG have a ton of cap space and depending on the moves they make they could be better in 2023. I have no idea what the Panthers plan is for QB, but they have some decent players on their roster too.

How does giving a ton of money to Daniel Jones and franchising an injury prone RB sound as a start?

I think it depends. If stoutland identifies a guy in free agency he thinks could be like Brandon Brooks and you could get him at below or right at fair market value then I think they would go after him. I just don’t think they’d overpay in free agency for a guard it would have to be at their price.

Depends on the price and if Kelce retires. If he retires that opens up a big chunk where it might make sense to get a reliable RG. If he's back I'd be fine with Jurgens/Driscoll having the spot for a year and figuring out a long term solution later. They are going to have to pay Dickerson a ton of money soon, and then Jurgens isn't far behind that. Ideally, drafting a T/G would be the best approach for immediate and long term needs.

Awful lol. But they had those 2 last year and won a playoff game. They aren't going to be serious contenders but with $25ish million in cap space after those two deals and not even making moves to free up more, they could build on 2022 if they add decent players.

I think the plan is to play Jurgens at RG this year, then he slides to C when Kelce is done. Driscoll is a great jack of all trades backup. Longer term we have to think about Lane's replacement, but Lane's contract all but guarantees 3 more years (and I think they restructure his 2023 base salary into a signing bonus which makes him more uncuttable). For this draft, I'd like to see CB, D-line, slot WR and HB. If there's a IOL we like in round 7, go for it. Dream scenario for me is one of the top 2 CBs at 10, and Kancey makes it to 30.

It's more like 18M in cap space, and it doesn't include Julian Love or Darius Slayton.

Eh...the entire NFC East won't get the AFC South and NFC North to pick on this year. I actually think the Giants overachieved and fall back to earth in 2023. They might not finish last in the division if Washington really rolls with Howell, but I just don't see a playoff team.

I've mentioned this a few times that past week or two... I have a feeling he is going to be the pick.  He can play RG and gives us a high end swing tackle should either Mailata or Lane go down.  Maybe I'm wrong and this is an attempt by Eagles to get others to move up.  Cat and mouse.. Just a strange gut feeling though

I'd handicap the division at this early stage as Eagles 11-6, Turds 10-7, Giants 8-9, The Firing Riveras at 6-11.

Good.  But a punter in the first round would be the cherry on top.

Any card collectors here?  Just noticed among others Abdul Carter LB and Nicholas Singleton RB for PSU amongst others will be signing cards in Philly...These two have serious potential

I'm at Eagles 12-5, Turds 9-8, Giants 6-11, Washington 5-12. I just don't see it in NY. That whole team lacks talent and played above its head.

The entire NFC is a trainwreck. Only teams I am confident make the playoffs are Eagles, 49ers and Dallas. After that...who knows.

Just remember, when you start to get depressed, 2 of our division rivals put the franchise tag on RBs. The first one is recovering from a serious injury, and the other has had a troubling injury history and slowed down massively by year end.

Oh, and the other team is owned by Dan Snyder.

Worth considering that it's not just about 2023.

Free agents after 2023

  • Slay
  • Hurts

Free agents after 2024

  • Reddick (age 31)
  • Sweat (age 28)
  • Maddox (age 29)
  • Devonta (certainly is getting 5th year option - age 27)
  • Dickerson (age 27)
  • Milton Williams (age 28)

By not overpaying Hargrave/Bradberry, we can extend our younger guys. The only hard call in 2 years is Reddick given he'll be 31.

Reddick is an interesting case.  How will Desai use him?  The same as Gannon?  Out of that list, he's the oldest and the only player not home grown.  Even before 2024 they will have to make a decision with him seeing as he's due $21 million.  Can't see them paying him that.  Maybe a guy like Nolan Smith makes more sense but again, it all depends on how that position is used in the new scheme.

Maybe he plays one more year because Brady and JJ Watt will use up two HOF selections in their first year, narrowing the path for others?

Maybe. I just think he enjoys playing still. Intjink when he loses that then he’s gone

Depending on who gets re-signed or what FA are brought in, we’re going to be drafting for need on defense. Have way too many holes. We can’t miss either.

That’s what i would do. Wouldn’t be surprised though if stoutland did identify someone in free agency he really liked and they’d make the move  especially if he wasn’t too expensive. I think it would take a rare type of guy though. I don’t think they are actively wanting to spend there unless stoutland pounds the table for the guy. Which I’m guessing brooks was one of those guys.

Random thought: our defense will almost assuredly be worse on a whole next season, but with an improved scheme, could we potentially be better against top QBs, maybe to the bar of being competitive?

The offense should be good enough to win games vs bad to average teams. We need the defense not to embarrass itself vs good QBs.

I think the team overall will be about a competitive next year.  You shouldn't need as much talent as we had to have a good D.

We should have enough talent next year  if Dessai is good,  too still have a good D.

And I expect the offense to get even better.

The websites still show Golladay on the roster even though he's being cut. That's anywhere from $7M to $13.5 space opening up so I just went with the $7.

Robert Quinn played his best football under Dessai. I bet he comes back on a 1 year deal. Yuck.

True. I could be overstating it. I am high on Daboll and the culture he's building though. We had a great run with McAdoo and Judge running the ship.

I posted about this yesterday.  There's a ton of good Philly athletes that will be there.  Graham, DeVonta, Goedert, DeSean Jackson, Maxey, Tobi, Niang, McClung...

I might head down Saturday for a Maxey autograph.

My friend has some old Michael Jordan cards he wants to get graded. I saw PSA and Beckett on the vendors list.
